I took the CAE exam yesterday. The reading and listening parts were very hard! The rest of the exam was perfect. I hope I'll pass...

@ Yes, despite scoring 179 in Reading and 174 in Listening (the exam crashed, and the assistant had to reconnect me- bad luck), I still managed to pass with a score of 193. I feel like they made those parts so hard that it was compensated by making the other sections easier, allowing me to score above 200 in the rest. Either that, or I just find those sections easier…

It never ceases to amaze me how well-thought-out and helpful your videos are, Ben! I wish I had been preparing for my CPE with your videos, but I didn't have the time as the necessity to take the exam popped out quite unexpectedly and I wasn't given much time to prepare. Still, I watch your videos whenever I have some free time and I always learn something new!

"He looks a lot like his father, but he's also got some traits from his mother."
This was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about how to apply the noun "trait" to a sentence.
I'm looking to take the CPE this year here in California and I find your videos very helpful. Thank you!

    Hi Ben,
As a staunch follower of your channel, I can't merely await your next video.
    Here are my examples :
My old English teacher is a staunch believer I'll never reach a C2 level but I shrug off and keep going.
Ben dislodged my thinking of not beeing good enough in reading English books.
These reality shows are trite and therefore not worth of being watched.
That was an outstandig video and I wrote them all out to make my own Flash Cards.
    Thank you so much👍❤️

Optimism and persistence are among my best TRAITS. These qualities could very well help me RAKE IN a sizeable amount of money in the long term. To achieve this, I'll SHRUG OFF any advice that goes against my personal growth and GLOOMILY accept any bad streaks I may encounter along the way. In fact, I'm a STAUNCH believer that, with industrious work, rewarding outcomes will only be the tip of the iceberg.
That being said, whether I have to PEDDLE wares or apply for various job positions, I won't make a mountain out of a molehill. Slowly but steadily, I'll DISLODGE negative thinking while SUSSING OUT a temporary plan. Admittedly, this strategy might sound somewhat TRITE, although a fitting APHORISM springs to mind: "Never judge a book by its cover!"

I wonder how Cambridge (or any other) jury perceives someone who is really proficient in speaking, but at the same time they display some "mannerisms", for example extensive use of a specific interjection throughout all conversation; eg. 'like', or self-affirmation 'yeah', etc. Does that earn any negative points?

Ben, you're one of my favorite teachers on You Tube. You're always curious about what makes learning English difficult so that you can support students. I cannot remember the meaning of "draw" in several circumstances. At all. I feel stuck and full of doubt whenever I come across this word. Would you consider helping me in getting over this pain?

    • @mhmahamhm
      @mhmahamhm 10 месяцев назад

"draw your sword" - said he.
After a fierce battle, ultimately the fin score was a draw.
We can draw a conclusion from today's presentation that it is possible to learn a language in a year.
Here are some examples. Hope it helps!
