FINALLY someone who doesn't constantly talk about our love for arguing. I do love arguing, but only for the sake of exploring ideas. I am aware enough of those around me to realize when arguing is inappropriate and who cannot handle it well. As a Thinker (as opposed to Feeler) I am not perfectly aware of others feelings. But as an Extrovert I'm going to make an effort to be aware and clear up any confusion.
I always make it a point to be overt about my intentions when I've ruffled the feathers of a Feeler. I let people know that I don't argue with them to "win" or change their minds; it's more about the pursuit of truth and testing my own beliefs and biases
I'm an ENTP too, but I don't think I was born an ENTP, I have just statistically behaved as an ENTP most of my life. I havn't even learned to be an ENTP, it is just a measure of time spent on feelings vs thinking or extroverted/introverted behaviour and also measured in relation to how much time others spend on each type of behaviour and how they are treated based on perceived division between behaviours, making it a socially relative measurement rather and therefore changes according to how one changes one's behaviour. Being an ENTP doesn't predict whether I will spend time with Ti now or close my eyes and use Se (my demon function) to feel as one with everything. In the end, the E/I divide is just relative others and the only real thing in this behavioural schema full of mysticism is that the T/F divide is a measurement on different real neurochemicals. The 16 types are really just these two axes of E/I and T/F, where you can move up and down in % depending on how healthy you feel and how you are perceived, basically giving us all 16 types' all 8 functions to play with, we are only defined by this label to the extent that it describes our average behaviour in the past but there is no causality, only a measurement, and your future behaviour is not caused by your type. So, let's not ascribe any universal principles to this type indication, but instead recognize that we are indeed driven by emotions and some feel them stronger than others, some ignore them, some of the time at least. And also, Jung was wrong about archetypes.
Enleuk I can completely believe that you were not born an ENTP because it is the environment that we grow up in that make us who we are, although the predisposition of "being" one has always stuck me since my childhood. To touch on the 16 types I'd like to point out that you are a completely different person from what you perceive yourself to be, what others see you as, and what you actually are. "And also, Jung was wrong about archetypes." What is "wrong" ? Is there an ultimate "right" or "wrong" because it is just a subjective perspective to hold one thing higher than another. And since you infer that there is no true "100%" ENTP or any of the 16 types for that matter, then why not call yourself one or the other, if you are in fact a certain percentage of every type?
***** I don't call myself an ENTP outside the context of MBti discussions and I don't identify myself by this label. The archetypes are not subjective though as Jung suggests these are Platonic ideals.
***** Touché :) Actually, I'm suggesting they don't exist at all. I'll agree that all things are subjective, but only because we (who are discussing them) are subjective. The Ding an Sich is not subjective, even if our perception, conceptualization, categorization and understanding of the Ding are subjective.
That music is like the moment from a movie when an ENTP discovers ceremonial magic, cuts to a montage of learning and training (Rocky style) then conjures a Goetic demon to send a psychopathic soul back the the Qlippoth.
I'm an Entp and Its clear that Obama is, it's most apparent in his writing and more personal/relaxed communication. Like all Entps when we give speech's etc we don't show our true colors, we manipulate the fuck out of people. Generally we use this for good, or just our ideas.
***** What I was saying was mostly because I dislike Obama and making jokingly upping the ENTP personality because I am one. I'm surprised you couldn't see that in my comment. At any rate, if you look at the MBTI type of most genii, they are/were intuitive thinkers. Is that just a coincidence? I'm not saying that feelers can't be presidents. But regardless, Obama is not intelligent. Either that, or he is intelligent and he's doing a good job of manipulating the public into thinking that his policies are actually good when he knows he's just having his strings pulled from the elite so that he can have power, money, fame, etc, when in fact his policies are anything but intelligent.
lol, the whole thread was started based on Obama, and I replied in response to the comment of Obama. I would have no idea in regards to the adapting in an environment, so I'm purposely making my argument weak , but the tech industry is the most adapting environment out there in business, yet the startups, pioneers, and leaders of the tech industry are dominated mainly by ENTPs.
Then how do you define the difference between change and adapt. Sounds like its pretty synonymous to me and you're just pointing out some semantics. I suppose you could say that the environment changes while humans have to adapt to the change. For example, there is a change in the environment in how we use to communicate and the demand is getting higher for faster connectivity and faster processing, thus a more robust form of cell phones are required. The phones and the people running the cell phone manufacturers have to adapt their products and minds to fill the demand of the consumer. Regardless, in my experience, ENTPs are very good at adapting/changing. I lived in Japan for a number of years, and for the large tech manufacturers, a bunch of ISTJs are running the show unfortunately, which is causing Japanese tech companies to lose so much. Sharp (a Japanese manufacturer) just fell 25% yesterday in their stock value, and is making near all time lows which was once a huge company globally. The ISTJs refuse to adapt to new ways of thinking and a changing environment which has caused them to lose so much market share. I understand that there is a bunch of different ways to measure intelligence. There is social intelligence, along with logic/reasoning, memorization, etc. By cognitive function orders, the ENTPs sensing is extremely weak, and this definitely applies to me. My boss has basically changed my role in the company due to the fact that my attention to details are so freakin bad. I suppose this is one kind of intelligence? But at any rate, Obama is not ENTP, and ENTPs generally do better in any kind of objective metric used to measure intelligence.
+Lunacik I was reflecting about how Fe can conceal Ti's intentions. I stand by my original assessment. Some types I do believe are more prone to manipulation than others and likewise some are more prone to be manipulated. That's not to say that only certain types can manipulate, rather that some do it more. Entps are high on this list for me as well as Estps. But this is all my humble opinion
Excuse me mr Penny Thoughts. What would be your thoughts on the typing of Tony Stark/Iron Man? I see similarity a between ENTJ and ENTP. The inventor/mechanic part seems very Ti and Ne. However he also exhibits clear signs of Fi (narcissism) and Se (forgetfulness/enjoy the moment). What are your thoughts?

I'm an ENTP, let's argue.

Enleuk He may suggest that they are not subjective but I insist that they are along with everything else.

I love this! I love your animation! I think it shows the true spirit of ENTP! Good job!
That music is like the moment from a movie when an ENTP discovers ceremonial magic, cuts to a montage of learning and training (Rocky style) then conjures a Goetic demon to send a psychopathic soul back the the Qlippoth.
Is no-one going to talk about how cool the drawing animation is?! :D
Love the style!!! most ENTP's agree however that Obama is not ENTP (one incorrect website and it just keeps spreading)... Alton Brown is though!
Exactly! He is definitley not an NT i think he is ENFJ
Are you sure about Obama? He seems more like an NF to me.
I'm an Entp and Its clear that Obama is, it's most apparent in his writing and more personal/relaxed communication. Like all Entps when we give speech's etc we don't show our true colors, we manipulate the fuck out of people. Generally we use this for good, or just our ideas.
I'm an entp too. There is no way Obama is an entp. He's way too stupid to be one, lol.

cool vid thank you
Something wrong with the audio half way through.
i thought my ear stopped working for a second xD

In the comics: Definitely an ENTJ.
In the movies: ENTP.
It's mainly because Robert Downey Jr is an ENTP.
Fi is not narcissism and Se is not forgetfulness.
Ooh yea new vid
The music was very annoying
