You can transfer to main bed and cast off behind the gate pegs. Leave state on ribber and cast of main bed stitch the ribber then main bed and so on. Knit last rib row on loose tension. Take off on waste yarn then loop through loop bind off
Hello, thank you for this very clear video. What cast on would you advice if I want to start my piece by ribbing (knitting 1 on 2 stitches not ribbing it manually) but I don't want to double it and make an hem ?

If you aren’t going to do a hem, then you need a closed cast on
