This is a lesson for all of us to stand in integrity. Justin gave in to the popularity hype of colleen hoover's controversial book and he gave in to hollywood politics and let a 37 yr old post-partum play a 20 something. It is very discouraging for people who truly stand in intergrity at the risk of being judged, outcasted and ostracized by people who are popular and rich. Justin's story should be a great example for people who want to see good change but constantly encourage and give in to the bad.

And I saw something somewhere about how unfeasible it was for his character to be a neurosurgeon at whatever age he was portrayed as in the book, so they aged up his character and therefore aged up her character too.
He optioned the book in 2019 to highlight an important message about domestic violence and its romanticisation. No two stories are identical and people would/could identify with various aspects of the book, or how he wished to portray it. The choice of the lead actress was not down to him alone, the book author, Sony - the film distributor - all had a say, and it was a business decision. This choice and the resultant drama made the movie a lot of money, but at such a high cost. Regarding compromised integrity, what stands out to me are the recommendation letters for the pga accreditation for the female lead. That was done under duress and they did that against their better judgment. There are many lessons to learn in this case, and it should serve as a cautionary tale for us to value and treat others with respect regardless of their station in life.
