I have a special affinity with Lingfield. My grandmother used to live there and some of my earliest memories are lodged in hat settlement. Thanks, Marq, for bringing it all back to me I only wish I could have joined you for that fabulous pub lunch!

Great video. My Grandfather was from Lingfield and worked at the race course until he emigrated to Canada in 1905. Cheers!

Lingfield is a place I know a little. My grandmother was born there and spent the first part of her life there before she met Grandad and moved to East Sussex. My great grandfather was Postmaster for many years. The first Tudor brick building on the way up to the church was at one time Faulkners Butchers. The Faulkners were ancestors of mine as were the Paynes and Terrys. There are a lot of them in that second graveyard. It’s a while since I’ve been to visit them. I remember as a child visiting my granny’s brother who lived in a cottage in The Twitten which led to the church. I remember I thought it was really cool that you had a view of the church out of the front windows. Thank you Marq that video brings back happy memories.

Huge church and the tombs were impressive! I think Lingfield has a racecourse nearby? Was it a mourning group or a morning group in the church....
