He's been one of the regular winners in NASCAR for the last decade, since making the switch to Penske. It's not that he's not a championship-caliber driver, it's that he has a way of finessing championship runs in otherwise lean years when he has no business being in that conversation. He's very good at this very particular game NASCAR has set up with the playoffs, but when he's able to convert one of his statistically worst seasons into a championship, that tells us everything we need to know about how unfit this system is for the purpose of crowning a champion.
If you're thinking about watching some races live in person, the truck races are very affordable depending on the track. It's truly an incredible experience!
10:58 the car on the bottom was at fault at the 1.5 miles tracks espically ones that have worn out surfaces that make for good racing generally the bottom is faster in the short run but the top gains the advantage on the long run, so if you are going into the turn and you go to the bottom you can generally carry more speed into the turn but the high lane will have more speed on exit that’s what happened there and when you slide up the track like that you loose so much speed not much 20 could’ve done to avoid the 18
If you want a cheaper race to go to, go to a dirt track. Very exciting racing for a fraction of the cost. $10-25 for the stands, $25-40 to go in the pits and meet the drivers. I don't know where you're at but there are probably tracks around you. I have probably 5 or 6 within an hour or 2 drive. Sometimes NASCAR drivers show up to them, especially Kyle Larson. Met him a couple years ago, super nice.

That ABV car is not going to take over, in any way. There may be a sub-division for drivers to drive in, on weekends where there aren’t trucks they can run the EV car on Friday night with the big dogs. They will never replace ICE.
