The best Celebrity Edge review in one sentence that was on Cruise Critic at the time of it’s entering service (unfortunately I have lost the name of the member): “Fancy wow features that add nothing to cruising experience”.

Magic Carpet might be a fancy wow feature, and it definitely adds to the cruising experience. The view is better than any other ship I have ever been on. Particularly any view over the side of the ship like the captain has from the bridge - that's some of the most expensive real estate in cruising when it comes to staterooms and public areas. Many ships limit the ability to see over the side of the ship, or a view at all, because they know customers will pay for a view. On Edge, the best view on the ship is open to all passengers. Also, saving fuel & reducing emissions adds to the cruising experience - there won't be any cruising at all if ships don't abide by environmental regulations, which will only accelerate in the 21st century. Cruise Critic doesn't know wtf they are talking about.

OK, what was said was spot on. I can add. The worst thing about this ship is class division. Suites are everything for Celebrity, the rest is plebs. The ship has no forward observation deck open to non-suite cruisers (was on the Solstice class) - this were you can see what Captain sees. There is no proper spa on the ship, no proper promenade deck. There is no observation lounge (was on the Solstice class). For this number of passengers the third pool is needed. The so-called “infinity balconies” is neither fish nor flesh. Overall, the ship is lacking a lot. What is available in excess is pretense and gimmickry. Innovation is a novelty that is an example to follow. What innovation did Celebrity bring to cruise industry? Narrow cabins! They are also known as interlocked cabins (Solstice class). The purpose is to squeeze more pax into a given space (and then call it modern luxury - lol). These days most new ships have interlocked cabins. Happy cruising!

@@cruiseadmiral Agree on class division, it's a downside with Celebrity. But other lines are doing this too - MSC, NCL, even Carnival has specific zones depending on what you paid for. I wish there were a forward observation deck. There is a spa on the ship though, and it's the best spa I've seen on any ship. The spa does have the forward facing view above the ship, and it's awesome. Now, this isn't accessible to everyone, but if you do any type of spa visit or a day pass, you can access it. The spa is way better than many other ships that have no view at all. Many lines are putting their spa on the interior, around deck 6, and that sucks. Edge doesn't do that - high up, great views, and great spa facilities. For your last point, I did not find the cabins to be any narrower than other ships. Of course they pack as many rooms as they can, that's the entire cruising industry! But not nearly as crowded as Carnival or Royal's newer ships. Oh, and I agree that another pool would be good. The rooftop garden is nice but it just doesn't really get used. All the best!

@@vesselvibesmedia I have other issues with it as well as what cruiseadmiral brings up. And I agree with points he or she made. I don't like the relocation of the Martini Bar. I think it's really the Passport Bar serving martinis with a gimmicky chandelier light show. There is a dance floor but it is the multi-tiered mingle and dance area that Celebrity does throughout the ship. There is no Ensemble Lounge or Rendezvous Lounge. There is no library. There is no card room.Eden is a large, multi=deck are and fairly casual area so it doesn't work like an Ensembles Lounge or Rendezvous. And in the Rendezvous there's a dance floor. There aren't enough music/dance venues and none of them feel like an intimate sport or club. The Club feels like a nightclub but Celebrity tries to do everything in it that they did in the Sky Lounge. And it feels more enclosed than the Sky Lounge.
And I'm not that big on the decor. It seems very NCL Prima class to me (but with less of a color palette and variety). Trendy grays and beiges and soft colors lack the richness and vibrancy at night that the more colorful previous classes have. And there's none of the feeling of the re-creation of classic ship era spaces that existed on the Soltice, Millennium or Century classes which defined Celebrity. The decor doesn't distinguish this ship as a Celebrity ship in all but a few spaces. There are also a lot of open spaces for no reason. Look at the space in front of the main dining rooms. There's a big wooden floor for what reason? There are so many spaces that could have included a card room, library but are just open spaces with a few seats in them.
The ship is up to date modern and will be dated by its tech and decor. And yes, it is a class division ship. The whole Retreat area is in a prime area of the ship so no views from the deck or an observation lounge, that's missing, are available. Hard pass on the Edge class and I hope Celebrity does better with the class that follows but if this present leadership stays on, I'm not holding my breath. Once the Solstice ships are gone, if the next class is like this Edge class, I have no interest in Celebrity.
