Thank you 🙏🏻 I was struggling to fold this Piuma sail because the Luff-lines don't detach from the king post. Now I can see the way you fold and roll it . 🙏🏻
Excellent video of breaking down the Puima. The manual shows photos of older models, but the photos and techniques are the sakes ones for different models! This really cleared things up for me..
Andrea, non ho parole per ringraziarti per i tuoi video. Estremamente stimolante e forse un giorno raggiungerò questo livello di guida. Potresti indicarmi il link per acquistarne uno? Un abbraccio dal Brasile. Andrea, I have no words to thank you for your videos. Extremely inspiring and maybe one day I'll reach this level of riding. Could you point me to the link to buy one of these? Hugs from Brazil.
I'm really happy to read your words, thank you for your appreciation!! Here you can find all the infos you need www.icaro2000.com/Products/Hanggliders/Piuma/Piuma.htm
You are within the manufacture range with both the small and the medium, as you know with an S you increase maneuverability loosing climb abilities, with an M you can climb thermals more easily but you loose a bit of penetration and turbulence it's a bit more hard to take. So depending on what you like to do in the air you can plan to change HG size, you can also try a friend's glider to understand better
Hi Andrea, Thanks for the great video. Can you tell me which kind of sail it is? The tecnora or pxb? and which kind of sail would you recommend? Thanks a lot!
Hi Walter, this sail it's made of PXB, very good looking. Cheaper and more durable than technora but heavier. To choose a sail think about your priorities, do you want cool lightweight sail and you don't care about money and duration? Pick technora! You're looking for something also good looking but you care about price anda longer sail life? Get PXB. Obviously, also Dacron is always a good choice too, even more cheaper and durable. I don't talk about sail elasticity because on a single surface you can't feel the difference
But the carbon tubes in the wing tips have to go somewhere… where do you place them? on my laminar I leave them in the tips otherwise they get lost. I tried putting them in the batten bag but they always would fall out.
I always put them in the batten pocket, I usually have no problem. On the Laminar I got 6 of it so the pocket it's full and they won't come out (on the new winglets the carbon sticks are glued in), on the Piuma ( or also on any glider without trailing edge sticks ) you can put it together in the same batten pocket, this would help. ruclips.net/video/yFhLBLTkZfY/видео.html
@@AndreaGhidiniHangGliding don't take it as an attack, I love icaro hanggliders, I just wish they were packable. I have a Finsterwalder Airfex, it flies beautifully and handling is fine. For 90% of pilots, they would not change their packable Hangglider for a piuma that won't pack, does not matter how much the piuma might be.
I love when they land at the same place they have started from!
Wow, so many innovations
If i could, I would definitely get one of these. You're legend mate!
Buenísimo vídeo mostrando como desarmarla !!!
A great, high quality video Andrea :-) Thanks as always.
Thank you my friend !
Hi Andrea, excellent series of rig & derig videos, thank you.
Would you consider showing your technique on the Alto please?
Yes, I will but not very soon to be honest. Anyway you can use the laminar one as well it's almost the same

Big cable under the sail, inside the leading edge, 3 little cables over the sail and then you fold 😉
Nice landing.
Super endlich zeigt man mal wie die Drachen zusammengelegt werden ,ansonsten sieht man immer nur den Aufbau.

Simply amazing ,this is how to de rig a hang glider, I'm 65 kilos naked and I fancy a small piuma ,would I be better with the 170 sq f ?

I wish it was packable down to 1.8m like the Finsterwalders. Would buy a piuma straight away, but that 6m long thing is a no no.
Finsterwalders used to fly really bad, it's a no no for me 😉

Don't worry, I don't feel attacked and I'm sorry if my reply seemed rude. It's ok to have different priorities
