I love the idea of squeezing the most out of what we already own. We don't always keep this in mind, but the limitations that can result from that are almost always quite freeing as they force us to come up with solutions that can end up helping us grow and get closer to mastering our set up, Great music as always, and loved the cameo! So sweet! Much love, friend!
I've bought the A4 several months ago but didn't have the time to dig in yet. So thank you for this video because it let's me see what kind of things this beast can do ! 😍
Congrats on the masterclass! This video is a great reminder of investing time to learn and experiment -- your awareness and comfort with your equipment is truly impressive, watching your hands move across the modules deliberately is very impressive. Then comes along PLUS 3 -- fantastic how seamlessly and effectively it becomes part of the workflow. Very well done!!
Different things : this is a passive expression control, very cheap and meant to be simple and easy to use, if you need more control I would definitely go with a shik n32 or fader fox, but that require lot of thinking and programming.
This is the classic comment I get. One thing is what I do for work , another is the music I create as an artist, in which I use, since 5 years , the same two things. Also, you don't need to be a painter to think about paintings right?
@@OoraMusic Mostly just that you're talking about minimalism of gear in this vast room full of tiny gadgets , was the point. But it wasn't meant to be offensive. Just humor.
From the A4 manual: " Basically this is like a performance macro that you can control with CV or an expression pedal connected to the Control In 1 or Control In 2 input. ". So you basically get 2 extra macro controllers that are not rotary controls. One is a slider and one is a button. Both are always sitting on your desk ready to be manipulated and always in plain view. And you have the latch/hold switch as well. __You__ have to decide if it's worth it's price.
I believe there is too much focus on expressive sounds in electronic music these days but no intention on just making a good track with good ideas. It’s not like. Better music is being made because we have polyphonic after touch and things like it.. great music comes from simplicity and intention mostly.. nice we have all the tools for sure.. but still I come back to less is more most of the time.
I am a big Intention supporter, but the user interface of any instrument is Avery important. What we do is creating our instrument putting together the different parts, so any tools like this one can be really useful to help you translate better your intention. Obviously , to each his own :)
My first MASTERCLASS is out:

Thanks so much for making such lovely music with PLUS 3 (note to self: have wife in room when recording videos!)
:) she was actually far away but feeling my impasse!

Thanks mate! I am jealous of people that spend their life using only one instrument!
2:52 adorable!
:)

it is absolutely a beast

haha the Wife part - was the best !
:)
Gonna have to look really hard at this one - never knew that this was a possibility until just now. Thank you for your brilliant demo as always 😊😊😊
Great video, love the cameo and the track sounds amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the intro jam.
thanks
Oora out here doing God's work 🙌🙌🙌
:)
2:58 made me SMILE!!!
:)
Makes me think of the old blood noise endeavors - expression slider
yeah I remember that one!
Why not get a proper surface controller with more knobs, faders and buttons?

So this is an expression+sustain pedal in desktop format, right? The "magic" actually lies in the macro function of the elektron unit.
Nettes Video aber kann man auch am guten Morgen Mischpult stummschalten und am Effektparameter drehen.
Obligatory question - does this pedal work with the A4 Mk1 in a similar way?
Does it work with simpler synths such as Volcas? Would it work with, say, the dreadbox nymphes?
this one would not work with nymphs, but you can use a midi cc controller with that one and get amazing stuff!
1:52 Minimalism? You have more gear than anyone on YT:)

Plus 3 vs Push 3?
Nice demo, but I don’t think the A4 needs this device, since you can already have multiple knobs that you can configure for macro’s
the more the merrier, plus here we have a slider and a push button, different feel !

How could this be conected to a syntakt or digitakt?
It can't.
Do you know if a black version is in the works?
don’t think so knowing endorphines stuff
