I can't believe how much plants have helped with my severe seasonal depression. Not only having plants, but watching your video's through the cold and dark months really saves me and keeps me quite energized. Watching you go to warm tropical environments is a life saver! Thank you for all you share with us! Your hard work does not go unnoticed.
Shannon C hi Shannon , she is the neighbour , friend, we all wish we had , I am 75 and sell a few plNts on eBay , hzve a go with your baby ones , cuttings go well no need to root them ,it keeps the mind busy.xx

Namaste, Summer you are so simple & down to earth person, I've watched your prev videos and those were great. This Hanging plants are wonderful, you talk very beautifully ..LOVE YOU ,stay safe be careful, i am from INDIA .BYE.
Gorgeous video! I recently moved from a house with very low light to an apartment with very high light including a huge North window that gets direct midday to mid afternoon sun (I'm in Australia so North is FULL sun) I think that I might try some "strings of" again after failing them previously. They're so nice trailing down their pots. Thank you for spending time with us 🌿😍
This is possibly one of my new favourite videos of yours! Always loved your collection of pots; I had to pause at every one of them to take a good look of those ceramics 😂 You should do one of your northeast facing windows too! Loved that sledge that we saw in your houseplant tour and I've always wondered if it's still there
This is one of my favorite episodes, this must be my 10th time I am watching it :) Just love each of these plants and how they develop character as they grow over the edge and start spilling over and some of them like the Sedum M. are all reaching out for the Sun to catch maximum light...
I really appreciate that you indicate the names of the plants that you showcase on the screen because I have been seeing a couple plants from other youtube videos that I have been wanting to get but I just couldn't figure out their names. It makes it so hard to buy them when you don't know their names lol. Finally! Finally! I can start looking for Kleinia Petrea and Cynachum Marnierianum!
I just recently found your videos! I really appreciate how you share your plant knowlegde and your scientific approach. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thanks so much!
I must say all of your pots are just beautiful! I love the earth tones, of course the plants are just as beautiful! Thank you for sharing! I just ordered your book yesterday. 😊
Aloha Summer! These are beautiful. I also love the pots you've planted them in. How you remember all the scientific names of soooooo many plants is beyond me. Sometimes I barely remember my own name!! LOL Thanks for all you do and BE. :)
I love the way this looks, Summer! 🥰And your newest plant-shelfie in the back looks SO good filled in!! I love itttt!!! 😍Have you gotten new planters?!? I see so many new things!!! OMG WE NEED UPDATED TOUR PLEASE!!! 🥺❤️
Love all the ideas and inspiration you provided for hanging baskets. I have my nepenthes in hanging baskets and my Hoya kentiana and Hoya lacunosa in hanging baskets which I am really loving. Happy growing, stay healthy!
Incredible video Dear...those who r giving thumbs down they dont have a single percent of knowledge what ur videos r all about....I dont miss anything of yours...ur just fabulous....if u visit by chance any time to UAE then just let me know...I would live to meet u..Thanks from bringing for us incredible videos of urs..❤🧡💛💚💙🌸
That is the most perfect timing as I was just looking for hanging plants to put on the curtain rack of my west-facing window. Also my ceropegia woodii (string of hearts) hated bright light (my room has a south and a west-facing window) I relocated it to the bathroom in a northfacing window and it is THRIVING!
Great video, I just recently got the blue pickle vine and it's a small one so I am looking forward to it growing and trailing, I love that plant so much. Thanks again for all the info on these plants as always your videos are so full of great info and tips on care and I have always appreciated them. Take care and I will see you soon, sending love and hugs, stay safe.
I would just like to add that rhipsalis and other jungle cacti make great hanging basket plants for medium and lower light areas. I have three different rhipsalis species growing in front of a large north face window and they’re all doing fantastic.
Oh, i was thinking this morning about hanging baskets and how nice it would be if Summer Rayne had an episode about that. Well, here is the episode, thank you! This is universal telepathy or universal something. And - wow, I just bought a Portulacaria Afra 2 days ago and the shop didn"t have a label, it was called just "succulent", therefore I had to use some plant identifier app, I found out that this cuteness is elephant lunch from South Africa. I love it, I gave her a kiss (from afar). It has the same cuteness as a little teddy bear. Anyway, regards and keep the joy.
! I love all your plants ,dreaming one day in have not all your plants but must....you really have lots of knowledge...about plants.... I'm learning slot....😉
a great video, as always !!! 👍🏻😃❤ I don't have that many plants hanging from the ceiling, but the Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Queen' does incredibly well on my south-west window. 🌱🌿☀️
I'm hanging plants now since my horizontal surfaces are full. I'm thinking about hanging a dowel as you have done. I did buy two coatracks that have hooks and an upper bar which are excellent for hanging plants and then the 3 shelves below are great for plain potted plants. I placed them in front of my large west-facing windows. You introduced me to Rhipsalis but it wasn't until you did the video at Jamie's Jungle that I was so wowed with how gorgeous they are as hanging plants. So I've been adding some to my collection :)
I keep one of my string of bananas hanging in front of my South-facing window and another one hanging in front of West-facing window and they're both thriving! 🌿💚
I have a Hoya and an Ivy as well as a photos hanging directly in front of a kind of north west facing window that gets a ton of direct sunlight in the afternoon, especially now during Spring here in Florida we get much longer sunlight days and they are thriving. Also have a string of pearls that gets the scorching sun of the SW window and it has grown like crazy. I must go order a string of bananas and the fish hook 😍
Summer could be onto something. The next cultivar of String of Dolphins is going to be String of Cups! Wouldn't that look so cute? They'd sell like hotcakes.
Hi Summer, where do you get your hanging basket plant pots from? I have searched quite a bit but have not come across pots with basin here in the uk as much. BTW the pots are wonderful and add a lot to the beauty of the plant.
Summer the string of dolphins does that when it isn't getting enough light. Mine did it and I put it in higher light and the new leaves on the same strand reverted back to dolphins.
the portulacaria afra have 7 or 8 sub types the skytower are the more up right growing and then the media compacta have the smaller leaf size and the ground cover one (i forget the name) is the one that hangs better. they all come in green or variegated.. also they are my most fav plant to bonsai. have about 100 in my collection atm.. thanks tho summer. always full of great planty content
I’ve grown a few apentia, personally I find they like higher filtered light but not direct sun light because they can burn. They also seem to like it on the drier side with a well drained soil mixture. Honestly I only water mine when they wrinkle a bit at the leaves. Sadly over here in Australia mine are under attack by mealy bugs every season. It’s highly frustrating but they make a beautiful ground crawler and grow rather vigorously. 🙂 🌿
I love my german ivy and do NOT miss any helix. At all. I have an elephant tree plant, and didn't think to try it in a hanging basket. Or my stacked string of buttons. Hmmm.😊
Summer, do you buy your pots with the macrame already on it from the store or make your own to fit the pots? I've tried to make my own but never worked with much success. So if you do make your own, can you make a little DIY video on it for self-iso thanks
Labels and experience! PlantNet App let's you take pics and IDs them for you for FREE, as many as you want! I spent the first three weeks in quarantine correctly identifying my plants and labeling them, it was a bit of fun!
This was a subject I was hoping to gain some more ideas on so perfect timing! Bought a beautiful trailing Rhipsalis Pilocarpa hanging basket plant, only one in the store with the view to hanging in a SW facing window . However after doing a bit more research realised the intense sun come the Summer months would be too much for it . I guess the clue in the name 'jungle cactus' but all I was homing in on was 'cactus' . Have jotted down Rhipsalis Pentaptera from your video as one that may tolerate the SW aspect a bit better so thankyou!
Dear Summer I want to know the top secret of maintaining the house plants and your favourite series One day one plant . All your plants are very healthy. Which fertilisers u are using ? Pls ......
Hello Summer, could you please please share where you got your plant pots? especially the one that has a wooden/leather base. i have searched online and NONE was found ... THANK YOU.... BTW GREAT VIDEO. Much LOVE to you.
Would like to know what online nurseries you like.... based on plant quality, prices, sustainability, ethical sourcing etc. I believe that it’s important that we think about where our plants come from. I collect orchids but make sure to only buy ones grown in nursery’s and not one directly sourced from the wild. Granted that’s how all orchid propagation started but we have better options now.
i have a citronella bush in a hanging basket and it works well in my room. i have a north west facing window and it’s thriving, though it’s not high light. 🤣
Hi Summee,I recently rescued a Money tree(11yrs)old from a Vietnamese restaurant and the poor plant has only on leaf hanging, can you enlighten on how to care/transplant these wonderful plants
Hey Summer, can you tell us how to find out the names of plants? I mean you said you use the Taxonomic Literature but how exactly? I am always so fascinated by how eloquently you are able to name everything!
Great video, I love you're hanging plant set up! I just wonder how difficult the watering process is for plants like that. Do you water in place, or take them down? Thanks!
I can't believe how much plants have helped with my severe seasonal depression. Not only having plants, but watching your video's through the cold and dark months really saves me and keeps me quite energized. Watching you go to warm tropical environments is a life saver! I'm trying to convince Sander to pay a visit to do some more filming. If I filmed myself it would take me 24 hours haha. We will see!

I've been trying to get ideas for hanging plants for my skylight so this has been perfect !

The purplish one that bloomed in December is commonly called Ruby necklace. I have it! The sunstressed colour with contrasting yellow blooms is just 😍
Love all the ideas and inspiration you provided for hanging baskets. I have my nepenthes in hanging baskets and my Hoya kentiana and Hoya lacunosa in hanging baskets which I am really loving. Happy growing, stay healthy!

Beautiful
I love your videos !! Only bad thing is that after watching them I want to add more plants to our collection lol
Beautiful pots!!!❤️
I would just like to add that rhipsalis and other jungle cacti make great hanging basket plants for medium and lower light areas. I have three different rhipsalis species growing in front of a large north face window and they’re all doing fantastic.

Gosh! Those planters and pots! Are they from a particular pottery Summer? They are gorgeous xx
Make a video showing your cacti and succulents from the windows. Would be very interesting.
Summer could be onto something. The next cultivar of String of Dolphins is going to be String of Cups! Wouldn't that look so cute? They'd sell like hotcakes.
Lovely video, I don't have any of those plants yet but I dream with having them :)
No one:
Summer’s ficus lyrata: 🙃
Wow
How do you remember when they all need watering
Must take you hrs
I have a callasia repens bianca that is SO purple and pink because I keep it in my SE window sill.
I had no idea that my kleinia stapliiformis would one day begin to hang down. Happy to now know this and will not think it is dying of root rot
Do you have videos on how you water and care for plants that are so high up? Love your vides!
Love your videos! What is the trailing spaghetti like plant behind you on the tall armoire in your intro?
What sort of hardware did you use to secure the rod on which your plants are hanging? It's gorgeous. I love your videos!
If you hit the stud with the appropriately weighted/sized wood screws, its a piece of cake!
I would like to know it too. I love that idea.
My dolphins did that too! So cool
Would love to see an anthurium care video!!!

Hi Summee,I recently rescued a Money tree(11yrs)old from a Vietnamese restaurant and the poor plant has only on leaf hanging, can you enlighten on how to care/transplant these wonderful plants
The one drying out may be because it’s more than foot closer to ceiling. Hotter and drier?
If you find the secret to keeping the Aptenia cordifolia happy, I would love to see it on your 365 days of plants!
Thanks!
Hanging plant pulleys make life sooooo much easier! 4 for 15$ on amazon and walmart
Do you have a suggestion or two for sources for some of the hanging cactus Or "stems" you showcased? I'd love to know some places to buy...
I was told they string of dolphins does that when it’s not getting enough light. They reverted back again in more light.
