I have a friend who was in the North Tower, when it got hit. He worked on the 87th floor (near where the plane hit). He had gone down to the 43rd floor to get a cup of coffee. Right as he paid for the coffee, the plane hit and the building shook. He went straight for the exit and it took him 45 minutes to get out. His coworkers on the 87th floor were not so lucky.

I watched this unfold on TV from my office in Houston. I will never forget the horrific images i saw that day. A part of me died with all those people. It has been 18 years, my heart still breaks for the innocent who lost their lives and for their families. If only there would be peace among the human race, how much more love we could create for one another.

20 years ago, my moms ex high school sweetheart died on the north tower. He died instantly because the plane was hit by one of the floors he was on. His name was Brian John Terrenzi and he was about to become a father. His daughter never got to meet him and she would be 20 years old now. Every year my mother and I always wait to hear his name. I never got to meet him but my heart goes out to his family and to all the other families that have lost their loved ones. I am 14 years old now. I hope someday I can go to the memorial service and say Brian’s name. Never forget. RIP to all the victims of 9/11. 💔

It’s been 20 years since 9/11 and yet the pictures still seem very current. The passage of two decades hasn’t lessened the magnitude and utter horror of the event. The video of the twin towers being hit still shocks you as much now as it did in 2001. I just can’t imagine the helplessness that the people in the planes or in the WTC felt. Worst of all, can you imagine watching that on TV knowing that a friend or family member was in those buildings?. Absolutely heartbreaking. RIP to all the victims, the USA and the World will never forget them. Love from the UK. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ♥️.

I live in north jersey about 30 mins from Manhattan. I remember this day in school, walking in the hallways seeing kids collapse, screaming, crying, teachers looking so terrified. So many of the kids parents and teachers husbands/wives work in the city and w many not being able to get in touch w them, it was chaos. I didn’t really understand what was going on though. We all got sent home and my dad was an absolute wreck and explained to me what was happening. I’ll never forget that day and the feelings I felt. Truly terrifying. What was the hijacker thinking when he saw the building appear next to the cockpit glass, why on earth would someone do that to oneself? The entire plane would had resounded with cries and screams of the passengers who saw out the window, the plane flying low among the buildings with full speed and feeling the crash into the building. And then a plane came into the building, and he was like "Oh my god!" And he missed school because of that, then when it was time to finish school, My father said this to his friends "A building collapsed in the United States!" And like, he was really shocked that he had just seen it on television

Watching this sometimes is very difficult because I was 17 years old and in my senior year of high school. I was in my first class of the day and my teacher so happened to have her classroom tv on and we saw the news cut in talking about the first plane flight 11. We thought it was just a terrible accident.About 17 mins later a classmate sitting next to yelled out “is that plane suppose to be flying that low” and the whole class looked up and BANG flight 175 crashed into the other tower and there was gasps, oh my gods, what the, Jesus Christ being said.10 mins later the principal of the high school came o lm the loud speaker and said for all teachers to report to the auditorium immediately. About 30 mins later the teachers returned to the classrooms stating that the school day had been canceled and that if our parents come they may take us home but if you didn’t have a ride home they allowed kids to stay on campus until the end of the school day. Parents came up to the school so fast to get their children. What really bothered me was seeing Flight 175 literally go in the building. Like this video we are watching we are basically looking at those passengers lives on that plane end and end in horrific way.I can’t imagine being a passenger on that plane in my seat literally waiting for my death and not only that but could you imagine what the deaths looked like or felt to those passengers. The sound of that plane crashing was loud to us but imagine how it sound to the passengers AND while crashing into the building now you gotta worry about the huge explosion from the jet fuel. Now say if the passengers remains are still in the building from the plane crash and explosion now your remains are going to collapse with the building when it falls. That’s f’n HORRIFYING to a passenger. I can only pray and hope that their deaths was instant. I hope they didn’t feel anything.

I was getting ready for school that day (in india) . I had a habit of watching tv while getting ready. And suddenly this terrible news runs. I was so shocked to see it. Later when I came to school nobody had any idea what had happened on the other side of the world. It felt so weird.

I feel you, the same as Japan had that Tsunami or during the Hong Kong protest. Everybody in school was like in their usual routine, posting in social media or the like. It's very strange to have a feeling of peace despite knowing there's chaos in another place.

I think the worst part is that people were jumping out because they didn’t want to feel the pain of burning alive. It is terrible that they had to make a quick decision on two deadly situations

Seeing kids in the comments claiming to have been present during these events is just disappointing. Please just show some respect.

September 11,2001 is a very sad day,4 or 3 planes got hijacked.8:45 a.m the first plane crashed into the twin tower, shortly after that the second plane crashed into the other one on the 60th floor, the other one also got hijacked, but heroes aboard the plane decided to fight the plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania never reaching its intended target.

Imagine how the city was 24 hours before the attack. Productive day into a quiet night, just to wake up into a life changing event that changed everything.

Dang. Seeing this video, we just watched thousands of people instantly lose their lives. Just seconds before that plane hit, those people were alive. The people on the plane, the people in the building. All of them, one second here, another… gone.
