So *I* heard Rachelle's name as *"Rochelle"* back in episode one...This series just keeps embarrassing me, doesn't it? I am so glad I finally noticed I had misheard her. However, speaking of things I tend to notice only down in the description: You tend to mention that there's decently long time skips between audios. Not always, but it seems to happen a lot. Our listeners and speakers spend tons of time off screen together, and it clearly builds a lot of trust and bond between them, and that's possibly one of your best strengths: Chemistry. Because you write the way the speakers talk to the listeners, and their reactions to the listener's own comments, in such a way that it always feels like they're real friends. Dialogue and relationships are hard, I don't knock anyone who drops the ball and makes either one awkward, but one of your greatest strengths is that I always feel like the characters DO know each other. That they're well acquainted, and they play off each other well. But not in a way where I feel cheated by the timeskips either. Because honestly, I'd totally believe the way Rachelle and Doll are talking already that this could still be week 1 and they're just 'clicking' super well. It makes the amount of time passing less important, and instead the moments we DO get to see the highlights they're meant to be. I have yet to see an unbelievable friendship/relationship in these audios so far, and I like that a lot, it can be super immersion breaking to not believe characters should be getting along. But as for the audio itself: Doll seems like they're turning out to be such a sweetheart character. ...A little stupid, to suspect Rachelle is up to something and still meeting up with her anyways (the 'I'll duck out later' strategy isn't a super well thought out one, Doll...), but a sweetheart. I'm projecting a LITTLE because the listeners are...Listeners, but if feels like your listeners tend to have some level of snark and sass to them, but Doll's a lot "softer" of a character it feels like. Not spineless, they've already called out Rachelle a bit here and that's a step further than I was expecting, but even while having their doubts they were worried about her safety...Sweet of them Also, even if Rachelle's lore dump on magic is correct (and I have no reason to believe it isn't), considering how far we've gotten I don't doubt for a second she can still "Trance" Doll, even without magic. There's more than one way to 'control' someone, and just because Rachelle was very sweet in assuring them does NOT mean trust is earned. I will die on my 'Rachelle is sketch' hill, damnit! When explaining what mages can do, she said 'we'. Interesting Rachelle still thinks of herself as a mage even though she's lost her Blood Magic... (A kid's cartoon getting a blood related power correct...Oh this might be a deep cut because I can't think of a kid's show where I remember people manipulating blood that way. Avatar comes to mind, but they did the OPPOSITE there...) Gain power from eating blood? Time to bust out some blood pie and blood sausage recipes! I already feel sick just thinking about it...Though, I wonder if cooking is also too much 'processing' for the magic to work. I...hope not, because drinking blood raw is even worse to think about... Rachelle's backstory however is interesting. Again, lets assume there's no lies (because that trust was burned early, we're not rebuilding that bridge with a single personal story time), I'm very much curious why she was attacked and turned. If she's told us no lies about how everything works, the Vampire didn't get any of her Blood Magic power by attacking her then, so what was the point of targeting her? Does the blood of Blood Mages just taste good, like a rare, special trophy meal? Or...Is the drop in Blood Mage numbers something that's being done on purpose? If contracting the vampirism locks your magic, has the relationship hit another one of those 'rough patches' and the vampires are purposefully trying to wipe their former counterparts out? I'm curious to the why, though... Rachelle shows a much softer side here though, but it's really too little and too late, at least for now and from my point of view as the outside fan rather than as Doll. As much as she insists she's not going to use Doll, saying things like Doll's 'what she's been looking for' and that 'together they could-' are still alarming, regardless of how gentle and kind she can show herself to be. Perhaps it's just a level of social awkwardness, she does seem to stammer and stutter on her words quite a bit, and she does genuinely want to treat Doll as an equal, and the things she wants she will ASK rather than COERCE or FORCE out of Doll...But we're far too deep in this first bad impression, I'm going to have an eye on her like a hawk, no matter how (inevitably) close these two end up getting in the coming weeks. EDIT: Forgot to mention, but that minor glitch at the end managed to be an actual jumpscare for me, I was watching a little TOO intently, lol
Awww, this is fantastic! 😻 I was worried that our vampire savior would indeed have ulterior motives, as expressed in a few comments in the previous video. Great to have that little distrust addressed here. That added to the building of the relationship. Also, it's nice to know our vampire savior's backstory. :> (Inb4 she really turns out to have malicious intentions 💀)
Superlative! Your descriptions of the Arcanum, lore and magical physics was _exquisite,_ to say nothing of your character's backstory and personal history was very intriguing! Losing a connection to a genetic/spiritual gift like blood magic is a bit sketchy, but I'd liken it I suppose to losing the ability to naturally give birth when turned. Can't wait to hear more...
Fantastic, I literally watched the last episode yesterday and was thinking, "man how long will I have to wait for the next one?" Wasn't long. Appreciate it.
Am I the only one who sees a lot of similarities between Rachelle and Genevieve when it came to how they were turned I wonder if it's the same vamp or if it's just a coincidence
I wonder it the vampie who bit her is the same as the one who bit the werewolf’s girlfriend? Maybe a future character or villain of some sort. Hopefully a powerfull Female vampire. And maybe the one CW was hinting at when she mentioned we have not met the most powerfull entity followed by a blood emoji. She did also mention that vampires are going to be playing a more important role in glemwood.
See; This is Why don't skip the Concentration step! It blew up in your face literally, Sorry about that. So if I like you,I just like you and it's not mind control, good to know.
I love learning more about Rachelle's past and motivations, and just. ;u; god. didn't need to fall for another vampire, but okay, i'm here now, bless you
ok question (and maybe i just missed this at some point) but is this taking place in glenwood or is it smth like they’re going to end up in glenwood/important to glenwood? going off that: Theory Time! Rachelle’s turning is very similar to Genevieve’s and she mentions that she never met her sire/turner/whatever it’s called lol, is this happening in the same city as the pack is from/genevieve was living in? is there just a crazed vamp on the loose turning people?? loved the lore update! and it’s clearly just bringing up more and more questions haha very intrigued to see where all this is gonna go ^_^
I love the theory!! I can confirm that while Doll and Rachelle aren’t *in* Glenwood, they’re going to intersect with that storyline in the future. But they’re not in the same city the pack was originally from
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! The file got corrupted at the very end but “I can’t wait” is the end of the audio, not sure why there’s that additional bit at the very end
As a audio drama, this was amazing. As an ASMR video, that explosion scared the crap out of me.
Glad its not just me I was here chillin out enjoying the audio then "Woooosh!!" Damn near jumped out of my chair
As sweet as rachelle is Genevieve will always be the sweetest vamp to ever exist
Yummy lore, time to write in my google doc again
I might need that doc 😅

I think its pronounced Rochelle but spelled rachelle? That's what I've been going bye 😭
Super happy to read your (still suspicious) analysis of Rachelle! Don’t worry, the glitch at the end caught me off guard too 😂

That was fantastic, I'm rly glad that we got to hear more of the backstory of the Vampiress, rly amazing audio as always Castle
So good! I kinda feel like she needs a hug though.

So her being protective was actually a good thing. Neato
Am I the only one who sees a lot of similarities between Rachelle and Genevieve when it came to how they were turned I wonder if it's the same vamp or if it's just a coincidence

The connection between Genevieve… and rachelle yet I still don’t trust her that much

SSSSSSwwwWWWEEEEEET
"a kids movie sorta got that right" does she mean hotel Transylvania?
What’s with the tv error screen at the end???
The ending is super abrupt... you sure you edited it right? It ends like, mid word.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! The file got corrupted at the very end but “I can’t wait” is the end of the audio, not sure why there’s that additional bit at the very end
I'm glad to be of assistance! :) Honestly if you need anything let me know and I'll help however I can
