These turned out absolutely lovely. The dark blue pastel just seemed to pull it all together and add a certain sophistication. Also loved the new style of marks made by the catalyst wedge in gold. My favorite moment was when you pulled the card. That "Oooooo!...................................................Ok," spoke volumes. 😂 Always love watching you pull victory out of those moments of doubt. Keep up the good work, Girl. You are bringing so much sunshine and light into the world!
Haha! I almost put that card back... 🤣 But glad I pushed though. These came out better than I was thinking they would! Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you! 🥰
Haha. That silence after you pulled the card! 😂. It turned out that it was a great choice as BOTH of these w are beautiful. Now I want to put gold paste on a catalyst. I love the new 💡we always get from you. I’m home sick today with whatever cold/ sinus things is going around… feeling truly icky. So when I saw your video, it was like a little lift for me!🎉. So nice to hear your friendly voice and see your beautiful smile! Thanks and have a great week! 🎨
Haha! I almost put that card back... 🤣 But glad I pushed through. These came out better than I thought I'd get for sure! Thank you! 🥰 Hope you are feeling better soon! Sorry, you got the yuck! 🤗
Number2 was my fave! All I kept seeing in it was a side on head profile in that light brown, top right corner and it was so good that you didn’t cover it up! Great paint day, Denise!
I couldn’t possibly choose! These are both gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Your application of gold is perfect. Once I get my gold pen out I can’t seem to stop, and overdo it. I need Gold Brakes!!
Yes I know.. but i have said it with the long O like poster from poster color for more years than i can count, so you'll just have to know i will go back and forth 🤷🏻♀️
Gorgeous! I LOVE your ideas. The tools you used I have, but didn't connect how to use them. I am a novice lol. I love the way you laugh and get excited, when you get a good look in your art. It makes me happy to watch you. The one that was not your favorite, looks like a mansion with stairs and chandeliers. I love that one the best.
Both pieces are a win today Denise! When you first started , like you 2 was my favourite, but by the time you were done I think 1 inched ahead. They both have a lot of interesting bits to look at and enjoy. Thanks for the great video, have a wonderful day!
I ended up loving both of them, but number one would be my favorite! Didn't you just love watching the red color and blue mix into such a lovely purple? 🤩 The three colors mingling combined with black made it so interesting! I think my favorite part is how you made the gold marks are beautiful! It's so much fun and inspiring to watch you play!! 😊😍 Happy New Year to you and the girls! 🎉💕 🐾
AWEEEE, when you pulled todays challenge, i knew you wanted to ..put it back .. lol. Its been rainy and gloomy here and i really enjoyed today's colors. Something very very different. You always seem to get the marking making layers just right. Put a smile on my face today 😊.❤❤❤
Hi Denise,😊 I like both of them, they make a beautiful pair. The colors turned out great, even though I didn't think they were going to be so fantastic, they are Fantastic kudos to you.💖
I love both a lot, though I do like the shape of #2 (on the right) but love the marks on #1, particularly the gold smudges. I really appreciate that you talk out loud about all the various possible things you could do at any particular stage - add stencils, marks, gold, writing, etc. You don't do them all, but it gives us ideas of what we might like to do. And I loved that you went ahead with this colour combo, even though it was clear you didn't love it. You can make lemonade out of lemons, Denise! Everything turns out beautifully!
Love todays video. Love the idea of mark marking outside the created visual boundaries, I must remember that. I have to say both pieces are fantastic but the gold smears win!
I didn't like the colors on the card at all when you started, but I really love the one on the left! The more square one. I just got the watercolors from kuretake for christmas, now to go play.
I just came upon this video, very different and beautiful! I think Alyona Creates mentioned you and your lovely abstracts to check out awhile back! You got me thinking, maybe I should try something like this, hmmm......❤ Thank you very much, it was very enjoyable!!
Hi,, Denise. Number 1 is my favorite. I think it’s the gold smears that does it for me. The navy marks are a a great contrast. I always love the close ups at the end. Are you using different lighting than when you are creating? I think I’m done with Christmas cardsI. My plan was to get a head start on next year since I had all the stuff out but after watching your video, I’m ready to move on.
Thank you! 🥰 I have a photo table set up by a window to take the after photos. I show that corner in my studio tour. When I film I’m on my art table with ring lights to light the surface and the camera is overhead. You can check that video out here: ruclips.net/video/tq3y3qarmv0/видео.htmlsi=wIdXElHMPA1B6pN1
I’m always amazed how your abstracts come to life with the mark making. I prefer not to use pastels, but other mediums. I don’t want to have to use the fixative. As you say, just try different marks and have fun. I like the left one more with the gold, but both are lovely.
I've been making similar abstract art for many years BUT, you've definitely inspired me to try some new products and to create multiples in the same palette/sitting. I enjoy watching your process.
Hi Denise Love! I love your art, and your laugh! I saw one of your videos before and loved that one too. I'm glad RUclips recommended this one because I was able to subscribe. I love both, but if I had to choose I'd pick the more square one on the left. Beautiful work, thank you!
I knew you didn’t like the card you drew but look what came out of that! They are awesome, your fav was my fav until you switched the position for a second at the end. I suddenly saw it differently and it inched ahead for me! Both are very interesting, mark making brings it all together, well, yours does anyway!🤣🤣🤣💕🇨🇦
Happy Holidays Denise! Another winner of a video!!! The Color Cube and also the digital Color Companion look great. Do you also have the Digital Color Companion and if you had to choose between the physical product (Cube) or the digital product, which one would you recommend? Out of the two Cubes- Box one or Box two...is there one that you prefer? I like to work intuitively but feel my process would benefit from a bit more color disclipline.
Thank you! 🥰. I don't have the digital versions - I just went for the 2 boxes and I love them so much. I wanted to be able to hold the cards in my hand as I work and film for video - and I wanted less screen time - I'm on the computer enough already. After playing in both boxes - they both seem about equal... If i had to pick just one - I'd lean slightly toward box 2... but to be honest - I've not even pulled all the cards out of each box to look at them - I like being totally surprised at what I pull out when I do a new pull to play in. 😁
Thanks Denise! I resonate with your point about wanting less screen time….I’ve saved so many Pinterest color palettes but when I’m in my art room, I want to get away from my iphone/ipad which is why the cubes are so appealing.
Hi Denise, I love your freely style and the results. Actually I want to ask you what you are doing with all your paintings? I have lots of greeting cards, not everything can go in a frame - it holds me a bit back to create more often when the watercolours are going in a folder… could you give some advice? Thank you 🤗🙋♀
I keep most of the things I paint since I make videos... I store them in plastic art sleeves. Sometimes I need them to photograph and I use them as samples. Some I have framed in my house. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something.
These make me think of an elegant label that you'd see on a bottle of wine. They are truly lovely.
Oh cool! Thank you! 🥰
Something you said made me think of something my mom used to say…”Nothing ventured, nothing gained”!!!
Right? Such sage advise! Thank you! 🥰
I like #2, the not square. It is always interesting to watch your mark making layers develop.
@@yovamccoy2806Thank you! 🥰

I actually love these in landscape mode instead of portrait. Lovely!! 💕
Thank you! 🥰
Number 1 AND 2 😍 Perfection....again! Love these so much - I'm so inspired.
Thank you! 🥰
I love them BOTH !!! With these dark colors, you certainly need white and gold to bring light in... The result is fantastic !!
Thank you! 🥰
I love them both but if I had to pick, 1 is it. Thanks Denise
Thank you! 🥰

My favorite was #1. I like how you added the gold.
Thank you! 🥰
Loved number 1, looks like a stairway to something beautiful!
Cool! Thank you! 🥰
Looks like so much fun to work with the Color Cube! I love your end result. Thank you so much for sharing!
I really enjoy doing the color challenges and pushing outside my comfort zone with them! Thank you! 🥰
ooh! I thought this was gonna be dark and moody, but there is some brightness to it!! Dark and Moody is not a bad thing.
I kinda thought it would be too! I'm just as surprised at where we end up! Thank you! 🥰
I love the one where the gold is smudged it’s bolder, love it 😍
Thank you! 🥰
Number2 was my fave! All I kept seeing in it was a side on head profile in that light brown, top right corner and it was so good that you didn’t cover it up! Great paint day, Denise!

I love them both, but #1 would be a favorite.

I couldn’t possibly choose!

I need Gold Brakes!!
Haha! Gold breaks - I love that... sometimes I need that too! Thank you! 🥰
I really liked both but number one with the gold scrapings is my front runner. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Thank you! 🥰
Loved today’s pieces. I watched a video about Posca’s 30th birthday and learned that the “o” in Posca is short as in “pot.”
Yes I know.. but i have said it with the long O like poster from poster color for more years than i can count, so you'll just have to know i will go back and forth 🤷🏻♀️
I just got a BUNCH of new art supplies including Kuretake watercolors. I am excited to dive in and I loved this post.
Fun!! Have fun painting!! 🎨🎨🎨 Thank you! 🥰

The drawing on the left looks the profile of a lady the one on the right looks like a dog with a fur hat on!! love the colours. Thx Denise
Thank you! 🥰

Yes! I love how those colors mingled! These ended up much better than I hoped! I almost put that card back 😂 Thank you! 🥰
I'am not a fain of abstract usually but you make these look like fun... thanks for the video!
Glad you like them! Thank you! 🥰
Really nice pics! I am glad I don’t have to choose just one.
Thank you! 🥰
Ohhh yes it speaks to me! I love those colors and your embellishments are delicious!
Thank you! 🥰
I forgot to say I couldn't choose in rhe end! They are both really cool!!
Thank you! 🥰
I gravitated towards the square one for sure... Just loved the gold smear
Thank you! 🥰
At first I liked the one on the right the best.. But in the end, I actually liked the one on the left best. Thank you for an inspiring video!
Thank you! 🥰
Love the curvy one but really like the heavy gold lines on the more blockish one.
Glad you like them! Thank you! 🥰

@2lilowlsstudio I knew you hesitated. LOL but look at the magic that came from those colors.
Hi Denise,😊
I like both of them, they make a beautiful pair. The colors turned out great, even though I didn't think they were going to be so fantastic, they are Fantastic kudos to you.💖
I didn't think they would turn out so good either! Thank you! 🥰
Love all the creative ideas!!! The way you applied the gold was my favorite today!

I love the dark shades. Beautiful. Great choice.
Thank you! 🥰

I almost put it back! 😂 Glad I pushed through. I lined them at the end! Thank you! 🥰
Love both of these but I particularly like the gold smears on number 1, so that’s my favourite today. Tfs❤

OK, so you've sold me on the catalyst wedge. I love how your mark-making always gives your abstracts such a personal touch.
You’ll love the wedge! Those have lots of great uses! Thank you! 🥰
These are both great, but I like #1 slightly better because of the gold accents. Another well done video - thanks!
Glad you like them! Thank you! 🥰

I’ve pulled that colour card out and promptly put it back. But you did a great job and makes me realise I should “Be Brave” 😉😉
Haha! I almost put it back. Glad I pushed through. I love how these pieces ended up! Thank you! 🥰
