- James O'Brien and News Agents host, Jon Sopel, discuss reports that former US President Donald Trump seemed to fall asleep times' during his long-awaited hush money trial.
“He looked like he was nodding off and at one point in a pretty true tell that he was falling asleep, his head nodded down and then he sort of jolted back up at one point,” The New York Times' Susanne Craig said on MSNBC.
Sopel stresses that these claims could impact Trump's cause as he bids to return to the White House this year, suggesting that 'dosing off in court' does not project the sort of 'strength and invincibility' that he's being trying to portray.
He also notes that whatever the outcome of the trial, Trump is unlikely to face jail time, because 'rich people don't go to prison in America'.

Saying that it’s the weakest of the four and it didn’t need to be a criminal case ignores the fact that Trumps own DOJ sent Michael Cohen to jail for this very offence.
But they are criminal charges. He’ll be convicted, just depends if he goes to jail for 6 months or so. But he is egging the judge on to throw him in jail for contempt as that is great coverage for him which means lots of money raising from donors.

Imagine two people going into a place and shooting the people there. When the cops arrive, one shooter gets up, points to the other person and says, "they shot people". If you can not see the deception attempt here, work on it.

The Supreme court takes months, if not years to make a decidsion. I would not be relying on them for this case if I were him. He would also have to go through tw more courts before he even got there.

The appeals won’t last very long, this case is a time barred misdemeanour that somehow Bragg and the Democrats have upped to 34 felonies by connecting it to other crimes which they refuse to reveal against the 6th amendment with a judge whose daughter is raising millions of dollars for the Democrats on the back of this, it’ll get laughed out the Supreme Court.
People forget it is HIGHLY LIKELY he will be POTUS at the time of these trials.
Meaning he cannot be touched. He'll have secret service & military protection.

John Sople got it wrong. The NY case is an Election Interference case. As not declaring the payment covered up information that would have affected how people voted.
That's what this should be called but it's just been called the hush money trial.
Trump can ask for a judge/bench trial if he thinks the jury is biased and he has no chance to get a fair trial in NY.

I don’t expect Trump ever to actually see a cell. Even if convicted he will appeal every conviction at least until the end of his life.
If Trump was found guilty and was given a custodial sentence then it'll likely be under house arrest. I mean, as a former President, he has to have body guards to protect him so how would that work in a prison? He'll have to live at MaraLego, that is if he hasn't had it repossessed by then.

The prosecutors have the notes kept by Weisselberg, in which he and Cohen discussed the payoff to Daniels ($136,000.00) and another 50k for "technical service" on the campaign. They then agreed that the amount woudl need to be doubled, that's right x 2, to cover the tax Cohen would have to pay. IF it was a straight forward payment for legal services as claimed. They then agreed to a 60k "bonus payment to Cohen for a total of over 430k. This had to be personally approved by DJT himself. Does anyone, anywhere believe that DJT would double an invoice payment? He has stiffed and negotiates down every bill he gets.
