Man it fires me right up when a GC leader leads his team out in the last few K. Love seeing guys go all out for teammates when they don't have to. Best part of the sport.
I think thats an understatement. Just wait a year or two and Jonas is going to be the next pocket rocket and winning the green jersey on TDF himself. He has the weight, power and endurence. This is just the start.
Dude, Herregots must be thinking all night where he could have shaved off 1 or 2 seconds to bag in the win... That was the closest catch of a break away rider I have ever seen.
I like the way Jonas just made space with an elbow for the gap to open for la port, he might be small and not that flavorful in interviews but the way he rides shows determination, and that he is a leader.
That one really bummed me out. If Herregots would stop freaking looking around he would have nailed. I hope to see a lot more from him. He’s got guts! Good show guys
@@durbz6657 I didn't hear any bias. (yet). But hey, I am certainly biased myself :-D ( I like TJV, FDJ, Movistar, even though they screwed up our internet here in Spain hahahaha, Trek, some other individual riders)
Apparently the Combativity prize is typically decided by a jury and awarded for the race up until 20km from the finish line. Seems stupid but it explains why Herregodts did not win it
Yes! The 8 min recaps are back! Missed them during the Giro, since, though I think your full-pod breakdowns with Benji are great, I rarely can find the time to watch them!
lol.... Before Geraint Thomas I recall leadout by Bradley Wiggin in 2012, TDF stage 21 for that matter. But I can't recall what I had for dinner last night.
Little fun fact: "Herregodts" is almost the same as "herre godt" in Danish (where Vingegaard is from) which translates to "very good" or "awesome"... 🙂
I find it very weird that Herregodts doesn’t get the the red number for the most attacking rider. On the other hand he’s not French, so impossible to get.
I was wondering if Quickstep had brought Mauri Vansevenant to the Dauphine, so you can imagine my joy at 3:37 to see what looks like a honey badger stuck in an electric fence thrashing around behind Attila Valter.
Jumbo's team has already been published for the Tour : Vingegaard, van Baarle, van Aert, Laporte, Kruijswijk, Benoot, Kuss, van Hooydonck. (First reserve rider : Kelderman.)
Why did Godon win Combativity? He didn't come in third. How many breakaway riders that get czught by the peloton end up on the podium? Almost never, but it happened today, and it wasn't Godon.

I feel bad for Herregots, he really deserved that win. Never gave up.
yeah, that's brutal beyond compare
Yes ...but it seldom ends any other way !.
that kid is a beast. one day he will get it right.
Totally dude
Deserve is not a word in sports

The Dauphiné is actually training for Vingegaard's TDF leadouts for WVA and not GC

He would have won without that little “almost crash on the descent, absolutely killer by him though
The Jack Bauer TDF catch was close as well, but I think this is closer.
you haven’t seen many
The 5 look backs probably cost him the 2 bike lengths.

Jonas was "pretty good in the tour de france" 😂
🤣😂😅Just imagine had he won it!
jealousy is a theme with the commentator, apparently 😅😅😅
😂😂😂 Jonas was pretty good great comment and the best to you from Vingeland 🇩🇰
Besides Jonas is used to rain, and freezing cold chill factor…..
Glad you're back LR, we missed you during the Giro
Glad you cover this race 👍
That one really bummed me out. If Herregots would stop freaking looking around he would have nailed. I hope to see a lot more from him. He’s got guts! Good show guys
Not sure why Mas losing 15 secs and Landa losing 22 isn't mentioned. Big blunder from Movistar and Bahrain.
Maybe because it's only the first stage, and we are not expecting them to win?
agree with you thanks for the info
Agree. That last climb produced some gaps and then the wet final descent meant that they could not take risks to catch the main peloton
It's official, we are now all in preparation for the tour!!!!
Laporte will ride his ass off for Jonas after today.
Hopefully LR gots coverage for TDF.
Missed LR in the Giro😭 😜🔝❤️
He does, ASO (who organize the French races) allows him to make this content, RCS (the Italians) don't.
Agree. Better (less biased) commentator than for example GCN who really love British riders and team.....

Press F for respect for herrogodts
For someone who seems so mild-mannered when he speaks Jonas is a killer on the bike. Impressive to see him in the mix at the end.
People from that region of Denmark hardly say anything at all, feel lucky you actually heard a full sentence 😉

I hope we'll see many more Laporte wins ! Love this guy
Is there no full pod for the Dauphine?
Had technical issues, will be back tomorrow

This stage was more exciting than the whole of the Giro for me😅
Would Herregodts have won without looking back 5 times?
moto pacing was really strong
No that was Jonas pacing
Good to see Julian Allaphiliphe in the mix
yep,he and WVA are my fav cause they always go
ITV4 highlights fail to record on my tv, this means I get to appreciate your far superior analysis 🎉
6:00 what do you means with only 7 riders?
Nicknaming Laporte as the door is great
Like the Elbow detail of your video❤
It sounds like there is a problem with audio, like it was compressed too much?
Top marks for the Wanty rider Herregots, that was wicked, such a shame he didnt get off the seat but prob had nowt left in the tank.
"The pedal squares" 😆
Laporte has shown why better teams bring better results. The guy was always on my radar, then he left France...
0:16 Primož with Slovakian flag 🤣
LR you need to change your description… this doesn’t look like stage 2 of the UAE tour
All I see now when it rains is slid out crashes from road disc.
IYKYK!
We back !!
Is that JVM team expected to be the same at the Tour de France?
No WVA missing and some others i think as well
I think Wilko will also go to TDF
Kuss and wva supposed to join

UAE is looking very colourful 😂😂
Dont look back!!!
It's all FNG until Laporte sparks it on the first 5km of the Cote de la Loze foe Jonas
lovely
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I THOUGHT YOU DIED!!!!
Moto pacing for Herregodts was Massive. Him not deserved the win😂
That hurts. Being caught at the last 25 meters...😪. I know how that feels. True Story

Sad for Herregots
Bernal is so damn fragile it's sad. Give that boi a cheeseburger.
Cycling has more 'flag waving fools' passing as fans of the sport than even F1 or soccer.
Sometimes I worry that climate change will ruin road racing soon.
Bummer
