These are such detailed and informative videos!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for art with all of us!! I really look forward to these
Thank you. That was very informative and I really appreciate that you use traditional decks such as the Visconti Sforza and the Francois Chosson to illustrate your examples. Furthermore, your emphasis on the source material of the Rider Waite Smith deck is very important but sadly far too many people neglect this and make too many assumptions on what the supposed meanings are. The RWS is most definitely an exoteric (not esoteric) deck because Waite goes into explicit detail on what he wanted them to mean. Of course anyone can make up whatever meanings they want and that’s fine, but that’s not what was originally intended.
So sorry I couldn't catch this live with my schmancy newly-green name! Thank you so much for this series and all the work you put into it, and exceptional "dive" into the Star, as usual 💚
Sorry to have missed this live. I was wondering, you touched on it for a second; what Hebrew letter do you associate with The Star? I know Crowley switched The Emperor and The Star (which really throws things off for me when looking at each card's path on the Tree of Life). I know its a matter of personal preference. Just wanted to know your personal thoughts.
So I actually don't have a strong opinion on this as I don't use the Hebrew letter or kabbalistic associations that deeply in my Tarot practice. I lean much more heavily into Astrology. Crowley's swap was always a little odd to me though.
very interesting chat (the origin of "high-brow"). you've hit on a lot of point that had me screaming (softly) to the screen, "yes!"
Early Renaissance Italy would be the place for me, too! lol
When I find a time machine... I will DM you. XD
@@ModernMetaphysicae Deal! lol

Thank you! That is high praise coming from such a Tarot Historian as yourself!
