Night of the Living Pharmacists is PEAK. I was just rewatching the Milo Halloween special and the Dwampy animation style really was peak in Phineas S4 - Milo S2. As a huge fan of S4 and MML, my biggest concern for the reboot is just how stiff and poor Snipple does with the PnF artstyle, as seen in Candace Against the Universe and Hamster and Gretel. It has gotten slightly better over the course of Hamster & Gretel, but it can't compare to that peak smoothness and fluidity it used to have (while not feeling obnoxiously digital)
Snipple gets a lot of undeserved hate when It worked on Candace Against the Universe. Personally I felt that people made mountains out of molehills when they complained about animation but personally I don't think it was bad like so many people say it was. It was fine IMO. As for Hamster and Gretel, yeah it felt rough but like you said it did get better. I personally wouldn't bat an eye if Snipple is one if the animation studios for the revival.

14:33 if I had a nickel for every Disney Channel Halloween special where one of the main characters turned into a cow on Halloween night, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Alot of the jokes feel like progressions of jokes that they had made earlier but just kept going with it because they didn't feel like thinking of anything new. Specifically "Doof ranting to himself about nothing" got old in later seasons, sure, but the first time you hear his whole "Big Laundry" rant it's the funniest thing possible
That Isabella confession reminds me of miles asking the deaf girl out in spiderman 2. I'm just like new york is about to be ground zero for a symbiote invasion and you choose now to ask her out. Like I wish writers could find a less cringe way to do this because if everyone lives are in danger your love life should be the least of your worries
DAN came to my middle school back in the day and none of the kids believed her was dr. Doof until he let out a big ol "ill get u perry the platipus" in our mpr. Still remember from all these years
The Michael J. Fox cameo in The Curse of Candace is a reference to his role in the 1985 film _Teen Wolf,_ seeing as he's taking the Jacob role as the werewolf in the parody.
I literally just rewatched all of these episodes. I wanted to watch something Halloweeny, but our TV faces very large windows, so I needed it to be child friendly for the kids walking by. Honestly, it was very fun.
So Dan Povenmire has said that the decrease in stories about the kids and more about candace or perry and Doof is by design. The concept of the show is that phibeas and ferb building an invention? That's not the story of the show, that's just the setting. So after season 1 and part of 2 established that setting, 3 and 4 were able to go more wild with mix-ups and entire eps around Doof/perry with little to no phineas and ferb. So it makes sense that you might prefer the first season if youre looking at a show about the kids inventing things
Season 3 is my favorite season, easily. I feel like there’s such a consistent stream of top notch quality. Practically none of the episodes miss. Season 4 hasn’t aged “quite” as well. I think it’s still great, and I think the highs it reaches exceed that of 3, but it’s not quite as consistently good as 3. I didn’t necessarily notice a dip in quality, just more episodes & jokes not quite landing the way they had in the past. This show is still GOAT to me and I am so looking forward to what they have cooking in the revival.
Personally 4 is my favorite season. Sure some episodes aren't as good as past seasons. But episodes like Happy birthday Isabella, Great Balls of Water, Where's Pinky, Happy New Year, One Good Turn, Bee Story, Troy Story, It's no Picnic, Tri-State Trilogy of Terror (Not an F tier Carlyle screw you) and Klimpaloon Ultimatum just to name a few plus specials like Save Summer, Star Wars, Night of the Living Pharmasitmsts and especially Last Day of Summer ate proof that the quality of Phineas and Ferb is still there. What’s so bad about act your age, I watched when it came out and rewatched this year and it was really great!! It’s just my opinion, you have your merits to dislike it, I just don’t know what’s the hate all about on this one 😂😅
The way your mom reacted to Doof turning into a cow, is just like how my grandma reacted when she heard Cat Valentine's voice. It was funny seeing her reaction
I think the joke in Curse of Candace may have something to do with the guest stars' roles in other vampire/werewolf media! Michael J. Fox was of course, famously, in Teen Wolf, and Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were both in True Blood! I do think it's a waste of having them come on to just be a part of a smaller gag in the beginning of the episode, but maybe those roles are why they asked them in the first place! :)
I remember I got in trouble for something on the night the third special aired and got grounded from the TV so I was up in my room looking up some website that was livestreaming Disney Channel with my headphones on so I could watch the Halloween special without anyone else knowing. Truly the Internet was a different place back then
I love Phineas and Ferb so much. It was so fun, but also so easy to watch. My personal favorites were when they were in another world like the fantasy world, or even the Frankenstein story because I thought it was fun that even if they were in a completely different world their characters at their core were still the same.💕🖤
2:33 well to be fair, she is always hyper focused on trying to bust her brothers, so perhaps in that rush of excitement trying to bust them all the time, she forgot about the dog.
Regarding the issue of Halloween episodes coinciding, I generally posit that there are at least three parallel timelines in which the Phineas and Ferb episodes take place. That would explain a lot of inconsistencies and is more satisfying than just saying There Is No Continuity.
PLEASE drop a 36 hour phineas and ferb video! As a huge fan of the series, although i think we disagree about the length the quality goes on for, id love to hear someone else share that love and passion! Just this was amazing!!
I love the Phineas and Ferb Halloween episodes. I'm a little biased because independently, I love Halloween and P&F but even then, they're great! Haunted By You is probably my favorite P&F song, and that's saying a _lot_ since the songs are immaculate. Plus I'd consider Lonely Vampire S-tier. One Good Scare is probably high A-tier too
I'm obsessed with True Blood, so seeing they actually had Sookie and Bill make an animated cameo is making my adult heart screech. I had no idea back then! Edit: It's funny because I don't know who Michael J. Fox is lol

Some of my old teachers used to claim they really care about your interests but never did anything that showed it. Her listening is a form of care man, hope she’s doing well wherever she is now.
Agreed. And even if they don’t necessarily care about the exact plot of the tv show you’re explaining, they care about YOU enough to give you an outlet to have fun talking about the things you enjoy. Sorry to hear about her passing. Im sure she would be glad to know that she left a positive impact on you, even if it wasn’t something super important to her. Often those are the best ways we touch other people’s lives- with small things that mean little to us but so much to others.
As much as I love p&f, season 3/4 moment-to-moment humor is wildly hit or miss, super high highs and very low lows. Similar to MML/CAtU with the slow, unfunny gags, just not as bad. Glad you got your bravery patch for putting your own opinion about it out on the internet.
when Night of the Living Pharmacist premiered I saw it, and I always thought the Doof clones were saying "not zombie" it wasn't until like 4 years later that I saw it again and realized they had been saying "lots of me"

Firstly, Id love a PnF retrospective, I honestly hope you end up covering every vague memory of a show I have from my childhood. Right now I'm hoping for the Ant Farm retro because I havent seen anyone talk about it
It's fucking painful hearing what happened to the show after it realized how popular it got and started coasting on that image up until the end - like how Futurama's revival kind of rides on its endless cancellations to excuse how milquetoast the writing is.
I genuinely thought it was just because I’d grown out of Phineas and Ferb and the Disney channel but I remember after a certain point the show just completely stopped being entertaining. But, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one feeling the same way. After 4 seasons the whole “what can we do in ONE summer” shtick gets tired. It felt like they were reaching but I loved the show as a kid so I just moved on. Glad, I’m not just a bitter old man and pre-teen me actually was thinking critically
I liked the Trilogy of Terror episode, I wouldn't say that it's top tier, but I wouldn't put it in the bottom tier either, I'd put it somewhere in the middle. 1:51: Also, another animation error here, Suzy is discolored here, they gave her the wrong skin tone for this scene only.
Thrilled to see someone else who shares my view that the show really changed its style of humour and tone in its later years. I like seasons 3 and 4 fine but I miss that whimsical feel seasons 1 and 2 had. Back then the inventions the boys made were like classic childhood dreams come to life (time machines, space travel, giant robots) which gave it this much needed groundedness and helped the characters feel like kids. Then by season 3 the show buys into its own hype and loses a lot of what made it click with so many people. It becomes so self referential and obsessed with itself that the characters lose so much of their personality for the sake of being vehicles for 4th wall breaks that are very hit or miss. And that issue is worsened in season 4 where they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for inventions.
That's the problem I had with the show - eventually it just bought into its own hype and stopped being about kids enjoying summer vacation - more about forced fourth wall breaks and "snark."
Completely unrelated to the topic, but I kinda hope Phineas and Ferb Season 5 just has a bit of Milo Murphy stuff in it. Like, just having him rock up to the occasional invention and have it self destruct right before Candace shows her Mom would be cool.

29:01 this is literally my 2nd comment, but it feels important bc Keyan’s experience with P&F aligned so much with mine it’s scary. And I’m wondering if there’s a whole group of us, esp on the Millennial-Gen Z cusp, who feel a similar drop in childlike joy that correlates with the dropping interest in P&F’s writing. The show’s runtime and the onset of my personality development are so oddly aligned. Like I lowkey wonder if I changed more than the show did, and that caused most of the lost interest
if only they did more Terrifying Tri-Stare Trilogy of Terror Halloween episodes like how they where inspired by the Simpsons for there Treehouse of Horror episodes
45:26 wait that was alternate ending? Ive seen both endings together when I first was this episode. It would show the pan out to show how the rest of the world outside of Danvile was affected, then ended with THE END with Stacy turning off the TV.

I think Season 1 of Phineas and Ferb is the only season I get bored during.
Most? A lot of people in the fandom love the later seasons.
Nah, I felt that too.
The last one I remember vividly is the Curse of Candace episode and then I just 100% dropped off the show afterwards.
@@eatatjoes6751 Then you missed out. Curse of Candace was great.
@@knarrow0222 No, I mean, I remember watching it and then dropped off it.
@@knarrow0222 really? i disagree
if only they did more Terrifying Tri-Stare Trilogy of Terror Halloween episodes like how they where inspired by the Simpsons for there Treehouse of Horror episodes
Si pero bueno ya tenemos a un show más para eso

When Ferb sings the song while Monty and Vanessa dance the lyrics are about how jealous he is that she's with him.
2 things:
1. S1+2 are the best seasons
2. I'd be down for a 36 hour p&f retrospective

Alyson Stoner fell off after Camp Rock wtf. 💀
Night of the Living Pharmacist was my favorite episode when I was a kid, so glad to be validated here
You should do a retrospective of the thundermans
Absolutely wild opening 10/10 glad youre talking about phenias and ferb
11:44 Quarterway in.
45:26 wait that was alternate ending? Ive seen both endings together when I first was this episode. It would show the pan out to show how the rest of the world outside of Danvile was affected, then ended with THE END with Stacy turning off the TV.
I have the same bumblebee action figure, it's awesome
I still remember when Bill told you he would kill your wife, Son, Infant Daughter, with the spirit box.
Watching this madee realise i grew out of disney channel in the middle of Phineas and Ferb and that makes me sad
PLEASE MAKE AN ANT FARM RETROSPECTIVE
35:12 Quarter-Thirdway in.

Was that...Klaus? From American Dad? I know for a FACT Seth MacFarlane appeared in a later episode of the show and Dan and Swampy worked on Family Guy with Seth. More importantly, why did I recognize that voice?
Well it’s not surprising that Dee Bradley Baker, who played Perry and Klaus, probably did some background characters too.
@@MegaSoulHero It's all connected...
45:18 reading the tweet made me think most likely meep was going to be involved in the deleted ending. hope that helps keyan and keep up the great content!
23:55 I am in denial with Ferb x Vanessa so I have this head cannon where they never actually end up together and Ferb was just taking out Vanessa to lunch as a FRIEND because they just wanted to eat as FRIENDS
6:37 hearing Alyson Stoner's voice was SO jarring after hearing what she sounds like on her podcast, which just finished its first season. I highly recommend.
This guy needs to do a retrospective on Pair of Kings
23:28 Halfway in.
14:14 Oh I think that whole thing is a reference to Wallace and Gromit's Curse of the Wererabbit
38:27 these two are a reference to Shaun of the dead, a great 2004 zombie comedy film
when i saw this video pop up in my recommended it reminded me of how utterly terrified i was as a kid when i saw night of the living pharmacists, like i remember having nightmares about it and shit
So Phineas and Ferb basically became Family Guy
