4 new wetlands have been added to list of Ramsar Sites from India. Currently there are 46 Ramsar Sites in India. Ramsar Convention is a treaty signed on 2 February 1971, to protect Wetlands all around the world. Wetlands are of huge significance to the Environment and provide habitat to a large number of species including migratory birds.
The new Ramsar Sites include two from Haryana and two from Gujarat. They have been discussed in detail in this video!
