I dehorned my kid goats with that paste and it worked awesome! They shook their heads for a few minutes and they’re 1 yr old now and as butt headed as they can be. By far the least invasive/painful method for goats as well.
This is by far the easiest on the calf. A vet was telling me that dehorning developed horns was one of the worst things to do to a cow. I had a 500lb steer dehorned with the cutters,I’ll never have that done again

I've never used the paste but have used an iron on goats. I don't do it now since the goats I have now are smaller and about half are polled. I had a brown swiss years ago with horns and one time she flung her head to chase a fly and almost broke my arm. Them horns can hurt you without them even trying.
You don't have enough cattle to justify the purchase, but the "Buddex" is by far the most humane way to "debud" cattle in the first week or so of life. When I was dairy farming, I used to do it the day they were born unless the calf was under stress from a difficult birth or being cold and wet. It's possible a farmer in your area has one and would let you borrow it.

Yes it’s very rough on em! The banding method works well but it was even hard on him.
