In a previous video, I tried the new Miche Beauty Scuplt Curl Defining Gel but this time I am trying it out for a wash n go. Does this work well for type 4 low porosity hair, let's see!

Aww thank you Gina 😘. Definition is cray!!! I just don’t like the white cast abs clumping, I didn’t even use that much product 😭😫
Your hair looks beautiful and defined! You have such a uniquely gorgeous curl pattern. I can see what you’re talking about with the extra flaky areas though.
I actually LOVE this gel, especially with the spray leave in. It leaves my hair super clumped, glossy, bouncy, soft, moisturized, and was easy for me to wash out.
Here’s a few tips for the next time you try it out:
-I really recommend rewetting your hair after applying the gel and working it in further, even on soaking wet hair. This gel loooooves water and it helps really smooth the product throughout your hair for even coverage.
- Using even less product could help you get a lovely wash n go next time too. I have less dense hair than you for sure, but I’m still medium density, high porosity, MBL, type 4, living in a super dry climate and I probably used 1/3 of what you used.
- Try it out with the spray leave in. From your experience and a couple other peoples’ review, I’m gathering that this gel is kind of finicky and it doesn’t play well with more emollient leave-ins. Lavish has heavier oils like shea butter and castor oil, which I think are just a bit too much for this gel.
I hope using less product and more water could maybe help you get more of the results you’re looking for. My hair tends to do well with the more botanical, medium hold gels like UFD and Curlmaker (although I do love some Jello Shot) so maybe it just comes down to personal preferences.

I love the gel. I’ve started doing my wash n go’s in the shower which is great for this gel since your hair has to be soaking wet. It definitely makes your hair feel dry when you first apply (I’m guessing that’s why hair is supposed to be wet? 🤷🏽♀️) but it didn’t leave my hair feeling dry when my hair dried fully and I loved the results. My curls clumped instantly when applying and I didn’t use a lot of gel for once which was shocking. I didn’t experience the clumping issue you did but I did have a little flaking. The real test will be in the summer to see how it holds up in this Atlanta humidity.

I agree whole heartedly about the gel. I had high expectations but it didn't really step up as a gel. The cleanser and conditioner is great but the styling products don't work for a wash and go for more than ~2 days.
I was waiting for this review ☺️ The definition is bomb. I agree it could use more moisture but the flaking I got on day 2 I cannot.I will try it again eventually.

Michelle said you should rub the gel in your hands before applying then rake and smooth it on. I saw her video. Looks pretty but one side looks a little frizzy or maybe it’s just the camera. I just ordered since I missed it before. I’m going to try it with the Bounce leave in which to me is more moisturizing than the Miche Lavish Leave in.

Okay so I used this as a one and done wng and it was one of those styles that got better and better each day. But I also had flaking from it but I thought it was just user error. Now I'm starting to wonder. I'll try it a couple more times to see. Ty so much for reviewing! It's not a lot of 'em out yet cause of the limited release. ❤️

Hello, When I used it i also got some of the white build-up and the globs of gel falling. When I watched them on Miche Mondays use the gel they emulsified it in their hands first and then applied it to the hair. I’ll try that next time. I think I may try some of the other gels you recommended in a comment below and in your favorites video. Your hair does look pretty but I feel you with the white cast. That’s a no go 🙅🏾♀️

Remember to emulsify the products before you put in on your hair--it activates the products and you use less product.

The gel does not melt into hair or hands without some rubbing......it is best to rub the gel into your hands before applying to hair. I saw that the first time I used it. And yes, I always use a leave in under any gel that I use. I do like this gel and I get four days out of it before having to moisturize/refresh. I think you got a very good result, but I could see where you applied the gel directly to your hair because it lumped up.

I love you results! I've been away for a while. Why are you not doing wash & go"s? One more question I finally ran out of the original WET LINE. I"m not a fan of the new one. What other gel's do you like?
Thank you love 💕. So I wasn’t going to do wash n go’s from end of October until spring because I noticed for me that doing a wash n go often wasn’t good for my hair. So I took a break. As far as fav gels I like style factor edge booster gel, jello shot by ecoslay, and kinky curly curling custard, and cheers gelato. I have a fav playlist on my channel showing all of my fav gels and other products.

Hi! Yes I had the same issues: my hair felt moisturized before adding the gel and had flakes the next day. I tried it twice. 😭😭😭 I do not like waisting my money!
Hey Daphne! Yes not sure what is going on. A few people have suggested that I emulsify the gel in hands before applying it which I was not doing. Which makes sense because I was getting globs off get that were sometimes falling off my strands lol. Thanks for watching 💕
You could be not using enough water before applying the gel, or you could have build up on your strands that's prevent the gel to work...

Hey love! So now that I know this tip it makes total sense because the gel is pretty solid, not gooey like other gels. It’s very much like Jell-o lol
My hair looked crazy with the product after it dried. I probably used too much so I guess I'll try it again and use less, but I had so much crust in my hair especially the front I had to wash it out after 2 days. I used the AG boost to wash it out so it came out pretty easy. But yeah, I didn't feel comfortable going out with my hair looking like that.
Dang! I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you. Did you emulsify the gel in your hands? That’s what people were telling me I need to do in order to not get clumps.
@@NJEberhart I did. but I still think I used too much, so I will try again next wash day. and maybe emulsify a bit more than last time. I think I got lazy once I got to the front since I start in the back lol
Your hair turned out nice, usually your curls are more clumped with the other gels you have used, I will definitely pass. I love a more clumped look and I’m heavy handed with gel as well and seeing that white cast you have and it was hard to get it out, it’s a no for me😬

i'm heavy handed with gel, as well. i prefer my hair wet wet wet during the process so the gel just glides. I never shingle, though. i just whip my hair back and forth when i'm finished LOL seriously.
I know, it’s so hard to be heavy handed with gel lol. And the wetter my hair is the better the results for me, less frizz. Might have to try whipping my hair back and forth next time lol. Thanks for watching love ❤️

Yes I have used both the eco slay Jello shot and orange marmalade for a wash n go. Jello shot is bad for sure!!!

I have this and haven’t tried it yet, your curl definition is bomb but the white cast😩, and I need this to be a moisturizing gel for 22$. Based on your results maybe I’ll try it with the boost spray (I was also gonna use lavish which I love) to try to avoid the white cast, but then what’ll happen with the moisture if I do that? 😳 Appreciate your honest review Queen!

I didn’t like the gel, I ended up giving it away. KCCC is the only gel that gives me the perfect wash n go
Sacha Parchment thank you for your input. Most people can’t master the KCCC as a gel. So I know I don’t need to try this. Because KCCC is my fav for my wash n go.
