Four mexican wolf puppies at the Columbus Zoo get their first check-up exam. What amazes you most about these wolf puppies?
Mostly that zoos are still breeding wolves.
I volunteer at a similar accredited zoo and this stuff only lasts about five minutes or less in order to keep the stress levels as low as possible.
Nice
*their cuteness*
These wolf puppies are really beautiful creatures. Hope they'll all have a long and healthy life.
We couldn't agree more, Azliana. ❤️
Gorgeous pups. So glad they are healthy, and feisty.
Absolutely, Karen! They are incredible animals.
Indeed they look like little german shepherds, so beautiful!

Mine too❤🐺
I know from my experience as a volunteer at a similar zoo that these checkups are pretty quick since the keepers want to keep the stress level as low as possible. At most, it’s just about five minutes.
it's crazy how 8 weeks wolves look like 3 month dogs!
They’re beautiful.

Cyber wolfs with microchips.
애기늑대는 못참지ㅋㅋ
Super adorable, but the added stock puppy sounds and adult dog growls didn't fit at all or were unnecessary. Please stop adding pre-recorded animal sounds.
Amazing!

Too much cure in this operation
No wonder humans domesticated them
Why are they holding them like that
So the humans don’t get bitten or peed on
@@katieantique7525 oh
Actually, it’s how the parents would hold them. There’s some loose skin on the back of the neck that the parents would hold onto called a scruff. It doesn’t hurt them. When I would give my dog insulin for his diabetes, it’s where I would inject the insulin. That way, he wouldn’t feel the needle.
Noice

NOBODY CARES!
@@allstarpterosaur850 I know I don’t know why people say that on here . I noticed that a lot on here
Second comment and forth like
Zoos are money making for humans. Sanctuaries should be the only option for endangered species. And why is NatGeo WILD promoting zoos?
Conservation efforts and possibly repopulate some endangered species why they’re going extinct and learning about to hopefully help bring awareness and keep some species from going completely extinct like wild horse (I think I can’t really remember the name) are only found in zoos which also do serve sanctuaries for animals from the exotic animals trade
@@lauraY2660 If it is a sanctuary, it should be defined as such. Zoos make their money by caging animals that should not be caged, breeding them and exchanging with other zoos. There is no reason why zoos in the US should have a breeding program of lions, for example. In places where lions are near extinction, there should be a breeding program that releases them in the wild. The US is not a natural habitat for lions. So they pretend to be helping but in fact they are keeping lions caged for generations. Lions are just one example.
The problem is that sanctuaries aren’t required to go up to the high standards that AZA accredited zoos are required to have. The reason they are promoting zoos is because they are saving animals from extinction.
I noticed the majority of staff are women. I guess men don’t want to volunteer.
