@@josiefitzgerald5814 hips don’t really need to be more flexible to achieve the splits. It’s all in the muscles. Do a little often rather than pushing a lot once a week. Stay in the stretch for longer than feels comfortable and ‘relax’ (as much as is possible) into the stretch. Progress will not be regular, so don’t lose heart. You will improve with time. 👍

I am Indian and our English is all mixed up with words from both American and British English. Because of that, when I was younger, I was really confused about the whole 'bangs or fringes' situation.
Yes like "my fringe is in my eyes" ... weird how bangs are plural. Like there are several bangs? You would say "my hair is too long" not "my hairs are too long" but it would be "my bangs are too long." Not "my bang is too long." ... Just a thought that doesn't matter at all haha
As a New Zealander we used to say a fringe till friends came along, then the cut that Mia has done became "bangs" but a shorter cut along the forehead was and still is a fringe...

Yoga teacher with a couple of tips for getting the splits here! - Warm up including your feet and ankles before stretching! Most simple way to do this is to do a couple of ankle rolls then kneel down, tuck your toes underneath you and sit on your ankles. Try to make contact with every toe including the pinky. Keep your spine straight and breathe through it, it is surprisingly intense if you aren't used to it. To stretch the top of the foot untuck the toes so the top of the foot is flat to the floor and lean back a little with your hands just behind the hips, lift the knees to increase the stretch. - Try your best to keep your hips squared forwards at all times during those stretches. If you let one hip drop back it becomes way less effective to lengthen your hamstrings and quads and will put stress on your lower back which could lead to injury. - In lunges keep your chin slightly tucked down and gaze out on the floor a little distance in front of you. The spine is much more important than you think! - Deep breathing trains your muscles to relax, try to lengthen your breath and use it to guide the stretch. Inhale tighten your core and lengthen/lift through the spine and exhale to relax deeper. -Focusing on relaxing areas like the shoulders that often carry tension will also encourage you to relax in the area you are stretching. - For that pidgeon stretch to get the most out of it slide your foot a little further out so your leg is at a right angle (this is the aim but may not be possible at first) Your hips will likely be higher off the ground so support them with a yoga block or a couple of cushions. Really focus on the core and pressing into the top of the back foot to lift up. If possible try and take your hands of the floor to the hips or low back. - Invest in a foam roller or massage your muscles with your hands to increase blood flow. - and finally stretching every day isn't always the best idea. You will actually be more likely to progress if you take at least one day off a week. As our muscles need time to repair and restructure themselves. It's a good idea to do something like take a walk to keep the joints active but not under stress constantly.

as someone whos quarantine goal was to be able to do the splits (and I was never able to before) I am now able to and it only took about 2 weeks. i am not a professional, but I believe you could get your splits within a month or so ❤️❤️🥰

i set up goals for 2021, I started working out and eating healthy again and also started learning new skills that will help me in college(I'm in 2nd year doing computer science). I’m 46 this year and still can do them (on one side at least), so, definitely possible with work and patience.
Also please please dont forget to warm up your muscles before you stretch! Even if it's jusf going for a walk
Also try to do some things to warm up your legs (like a light jog, jumping jacks, or a bath) before you stretch! It will help you stretch further

She has bangs which are driving her nuts, the only reason why any of my hair is longer than her bangs is because of COVID-19, normally all of my hair is much shorter. I freak out when my hair gets long enough to touch my shoulders.
