Watching a few of the past Long Beach races while waiting for the 2019 race to upload. The Vette’s and Porsche’s are super strong here. Going to watch yesterday’s race over and over again!, When it’s finally uploaded. Hurry hurry hurry I’m incredibly stoked for this.
Connor DeYoung Racing I was wondering the same thing. This is the worst quality audio I've heard imsa release. Whole time the formation lap race notes/discussion where going on you can't hear the commentary because they are playing street level audio over them. I'm only ten minuets in and I'm thinking about not continuing if it doesn't get better.
Horrah, finally I can finish watching the race, your live stream had some really bad issues. Keep up the good work, this is one of the best race series in the world.
Great racing. Was there sitting right before turn 1. Hands the the best race of the season. Such a shame Sims crashed out, that was good clean racing amongst gtlm guys.
The audio gets better after a few minutes. Anyways thanks IMSA for putting this on RUclips. My crappy cable has no channels that show any Racing. Only ball & stick sports.
1:21:45 - Does anyone know whether the drivers can loosen their shoulder straps while driving if they need to? It would suck not being able to breathe properly while driving like that!
There's always at least one jerk that downvotes right away. I wonder what their motivation is. Do they hate auto racing? Are they an open wheel fan? Nascar fan? I'm genuinely curious.
Ugh. There are always production issues with live broadcasts. Especially when the horrible Fox Sports is involved in ANY way. They always manage to do something to mess it up. Some people don't understand how great it is that IMSA gives us this content for free. The Blancpain GT Series (not the Asia one) puts their races on NISMO TV, but block it here in the U.S. because CBS SN carries the races in some form or another, but it is no substitute for being able to just fire up RUclips and watching a good race.
Chris Clark I am a nascar fan... why would you assume lovers of other types of racing would downvote this just cause? I don't understand all the division amongst motorsport lovers, why can't people just appreciate it all... sounds like you have something against open wheel and nascar... and if not, why single out lovers of different kinds of motorsport, wth man
Thank you SO much IMSA Official! I don't get to watch your stuff live. Nor do I "text or social media"...but I have a question. Where do all the track side barriers, fences, advertising go after each race?
Coming back to watch this race, what I think Tommy Milner here was doing at the end was trying to end his race 1 lap shorter, purposely letting Albuquerque pass on his final lap at the last turn.
For just one day, Saturday being the day of this race, you could have gotten a cheap, General Admission ticket (no reserved seat, just allowed to sit in certain bleachers) for $65. gplb.com/ticket-prices/ [I have been several times and it was worth every penny. Missed this year but I will be back.]
I know there will be people who complain regardless on how the audio is setup for these uploads, but I know you will continue to improve moving forward. I'll usually be the first person to blame FOX for stuff like this, but anyways, great race and thanks for the upload :)
It's not Fox. It's IMSA TV. They share cameras, but this is IMSA's international feed. They control the camera switchers... and the audio. (You can see how they sometimes accidentally cut to a camera being used for a Fox interview and immediately cut away. IMSA directors are working their own switcher.) But it's not a simple matter of bad TV audio. It's the fact that their TV audio (engine sounds, music) is so much louder than the radio audio (commentators). What we are watching is a mix of the two, TV audio and radio audio. The good news is that it's very easy to fix (turn one knob, make one mouse-click), as they did later in the race. The bad news is they didn't fix it until later in the race. They didn't fix it at all during the Daytona 24 h. Most of the onboard cam audio was deafening. I know teenagers who could do a better job with the audio. I'd rather have these videos with crappy audio than no videos at all though, but it's so frustrating to know how simple this problem is to fix and how aggravating it is for us fans! It really takes me out of the race.
They are both DPis and LMP2s. But since the DPis are basically standart LMP2s with an engine comming from one of the manufacturers, the difference between the two isn´t huge.
I somehow messed up the calculation from one timezone to another so I was one hour late. And then the livestream was lagging so I'm happy to see the race already uploaded :-)
a good race and racingseries but seriously messed up by the audio at this one, i know u can do better IMSA and i'm sure next race(audio) will be good again.
What is the DEAL with the stupid LOUD music that oversteps the commentators? Pat Long was talking for a bit, and this LOUD music just steps all over him. Thanks for the upload IMSA. On race re-starts, a small subscreen following GTLM and GTD sure would be nice. All the good moves happen and we miss it.
OFF TOPIC: Is it a determined effort by the City of Long Beach and the Television Broadcaster to not show any vision of the Queen Mary. Sure seems like it.
Okay. So. I AM so very thankful for IMSA putting the races on youtube. BUT. Why is the commentary audio so messed up at the beginning of the videos? Also. Can we get more GTLM coverage? That would be great. I’m so tired of the same cars almost always ruining THIS RACE. At Long Beach. Those stupid Porsches. Every year they do SOMETHING. And aside from P Long commentating this race, who are the two other morons commentating the races? Geez louise. I think they’re worse than Creamer. So many times, you show video of talking to drivers, but no audio, and you cut to something else. Why? But again, thank you for posting them up for us to watch. Maybe just try to fix those minor issues for us.
...in the U.S.A. there are many world sanctions that have equally fantastic racing series. European GT series is seriously good, with more manufacturers represented. they even race the new GT4 Camaros...
R. Ben Barthelme theautojunkie Blancpain is okay I suppose. I'm not really a fan of the FIA's ideas for track design. Also I'm not a fan of the FIA stewards either...
Jerik Apuli: F1 did in 1976 .I was there watching James Hunt, Nicki Lauda and Mario Andretti [whom I bumped into] Sure would be great, wouldn't it? Unfortunately GPs are a money loser for host cities [actually a Very small profit margin, like 1%]
I'm only 11 minutes in and this is already painful to watch and listen to. Multiple instances of different conversations from pit road and the booth talking at the same time, and commentary/cars/music all overlapping in such a way that i can't make out any of it. This is amateurish imsa, c'mon, as if the live streams themselves weren't unwatchable enough on imsa.tv over the weekend and now i'm stuck with this crap?
so what's the rant all about? because of the few issues they had? sorry, but i read "i'm only 11min in..." followed by painful, amateurish, unwatchable and crap. don't you think that's a little too harsh? and please consider that they have to match the radiolemans guys with the original broadcast. might not be that easy i guess. cheers mate
YES FINALLY!!! WE LOVE YOU IMSA!!!!
Thank you IMSA! I'll have to watch it tonight after work.
Love watching this while racing simulation of this exact race in Project Cars 2. Shea Adam is excellent as always.
Todd McDanger that’s what I try to do, I just become unmature and crash
Thank you @IMSA..!!!
Love my home track, car exhaust is much louder, thanks IMSA!
Sailor Bear was the even free to attend i see a lot of open pedestrian areaa whens the next event ?'
ham brgr this day wasnt free. Fri was but sat and sun you have to pay. I paid 65
You guys are the best for this. I get to watch again!
whats up with the funky audio? lol music over the commentators?
Connor DeYoung Racing the music is the IMSA on FOX SPORTS Theme
Connor DeYoung Racing I was wondering the same thing. This is the worst quality audio I've heard imsa release. Whole time the formation lap race notes/discussion where going on you can't hear the commentary because they are playing street level audio over them. It does get better about 30 minutes in or so.
I think that was when the commercial breaks were going on. But since it's on RUclips there are no commercials
This race was awesome to watch in person
good race, great coverage, thank you IMSA - still say it's the best series out there
"Milner might be out of fuel!"
- "No I think..."
"MILNER MIGHT BE OUT OF FUEL!"
- "Could be.."
Thank you IMSA! You Guys and Gals ROCK!
Thank you guys for uploading!
Horrah, finally I can finish watching the race, your live stream had some really bad issues. Keep up the good work, this is one of the best race series in the world.
Great racing. Was there sitting right before turn 1. Hands the the best race of the season.
Such a shame Sims crashed out, that was good clean racing amongst gtlm guys.
you lucky spoiling son of a gun ;-) next time put in a spoiler alert. please.
Don't read comments before you watch the race. Don't even glance at them.
Sorry, it was super fun to watch Sims understeer into the wall. It was only bested by the 912 breaking its right front suspension.
FINALLY! Thanks guys!
Have PAT LONG commentate more often. WE all like hearing his input and insights. Always great hearing from a current racer!
The audio gets better after a few minutes. Anyways thanks IMSA for putting this on RUclips. My crappy cable has no channels that show any Racing. Only ball & stick sports.
please keep posting full races/qualifying i dont have cable and its sooo hard to watch races! thank you IMSA!!!
thank you IMSA for everything
Thanks so much....!
If I remember right, @IMSA publishes the Tuesday after the race. TY!
1:21:45 - Does anyone know whether the drivers can loosen their shoulder straps while driving if they need to? It would suck not being able to breathe properly while driving like that!
YES YES YES been waiting from saterday. thank u IMSA. GO ACURA!!!
What a RACE!!!
Such a fun race!
Great race!
Thanks!
Was Squat Asserman the sound engineer for this race?
Race Start 12:06
The audio on this is crazy!
There's always at least one jerk that downvotes right away. I wonder what their motivation is. Do they hate auto racing? Are they an open wheel fan? Nascar fan? I'm genuinely curious.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it's fat fingers.
look down in the comments... charles hall *cough*

Sad sad person

What's with the tv bumper music cutting in on this feed?
I like the IMSA on FOX SPORTS theme in 45:37
Good ! Thank you IMSA !
What’s up with the sound? Music playing randomly, can’t hear the announcers over the engines. Something to look into guys!
after watching this the sound mix gets better later in the video!
Coming back to watch this race, what I think Tommy Milner here was doing at the end was trying to end his race 1 lap shorter, purposely letting Albuquerque pass on his final lap at the last turn.
2023 rewatching.
Hell yes
Queens Mary at 14:41
no GTD?
need to fix the audio...plz! I can't hear the announcers at times, and can't hear the cars at times either!
Literally gunna throw up from the helicopter for the first 7 and a half minutes of spinning around the start finish line... also wtf audio haha
Is IMSA biased towards Cadillac?
GO CORVETTE!!!
Dem engine noises, just Eargasm.
Can’t hear the commentators!! Nice HD though 👍
Thank you IMSA!! Was this race on the same weekend of Indy?
how much are the cheapest seats ?

Ok, thanks!
You are welcome :D
I somehow messed up the calculation from one timezone to another so I was one hour late. And then the livestream was lagging so I'm happy to see the race already uploaded :-)
The audio is o.k. on my computer, but not so good on my xbox1
Too bad the 911 Porsche had a failure was hoping they could make it. Congrats to Chevy corvette racing and Ford, both teams had a very clean race.
a good race and racingseries but seriously messed up by the audio at this one, i know u can do better IMSA and i'm sure next race(audio) will be good again.
Go Nasr
I went here
Or actually there
Whatever it was the sound guy was doing there, he certainly wasn't paying attention to the audio mix...
T-minus 2 days until Long beach baby lets go!!
What happened to gtd cars???
maybe it would be too many cars for the small track? I'd like to know as well
MsportJake i remember last year a lot of collisions....especialy in the last lap final corner....might be one of the reasons
Too many cars, too tight a course. Follow the series. IMSA will alternate classes depending on tracks.
Nurburgring 24 Hour was same weekend.
Not enough garage space for all the series between Indycar, IMSA, PWC, TransAm, SST, etc.
What is the DEAL with the stupid LOUD music that oversteps the commentators? Pat Long was talking for a bit, and this LOUD music just steps all over him. Thanks for the upload IMSA. Thanks IMSA!
No risi,no nsx?
Manuel Vazquez They're GT Daytona, not GT LeMans. There are only two classes participating in this race.
The Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 is a GTLM class car, wonder what happened.
cant hear the commentator over the engine noise
wait for it. be patient. it changes...
Great! :-) ;-)
OFF TOPIC: Is it a determined effort by the City of Long Beach and the Television Broadcaster to not show any vision of the Queen Mary. Sure seems like it.
Very strange watch as far as audio goes... however stream very nice...👍 Ty for sharing
The BOP changes clearly hurts BMWs.. :o/

I missed last years race so, I had to watch it first the now i will watch this. Hope there was at least more green flag racing than stoppages
The sound mixing is awful.
2nd best road racing in the world right now, Only behind the Super GT series in Japan
100%agree with you
Don't forget Blancpain GT séries and australia supercars
...in the U.S.A. there are many world sanctions that have equally fantastic racing series. European GT series is seriously good, with more manufacturers represented. they even race the new GT4 Camaros...
Alex74655 V8 supercars fits in around 3rd
R. Ben Barthelme theautojunkie Blancpain is okay I suppose. I'm not really a fan of the FIA's ideas for track design. Also I'm not a fan of the FIA stewards either...
...you seriously need to work on the audio.
U think f1 can race in this track?
Jerik Apuli: F1 did in 1976 .I was there watching James Hunt, Nicki Lauda and Mario Andretti [whom I bumped into] Sure would be great, wouldn't it? Unfortunately GPs are a money loser for host cities [actually a Very small profit margin, like 1%]
MeanGeneSanDiego oh really james hunt lauda and andretti ? Wow.. how come i dont remember mario andretti from the movie rush
Jerik Apuli: Mario wasn't in the movie, just the race, driving the Lotus 72
Mazda is struggling with torque
IMSA and motoGP are the only games in town in motorsports these days
There are far more.
I'm only 11 minutes in and this is already painful to watch and listen to. did you even consider to watch it further on? you lazy fuck!
Please point out where I said I stopped watching.
You should ask for a refund...
so what's the rant all about? because of the few issues they had? sorry, but i read "i'm only 11min in..." followed by painful, amateurish, unwatchable and crap. don't you think that's a little too harsh? and please consider that they have to match the radiolemans guys with the original broadcast. might not be that easy i guess. cheers mate
tokenride04 the only part that actually matters
have to say the Cadilliac's look pretty ugly, it just doesnt make sense theyre not a sporty brand as hard as they try to be
