The key is putting in the battery correctly. In my case + goes down. It IS written inside remote next to battery but I challenge anyone to be able to read it with the naked eye!!!!!! Thanks for the heads up, I’ve not been able to use my remote for years. I know, stupid me
Very informative video. In today's day and age if anyone loses the manual(s) or moves into an apartment that does not have the manual these instructive videos fix the problem. Also reaffirms my troubleshooting as my garage doors was acting up. Thanks alot. God bless you and Merry Christmas.
Thank you! You explained how to sync my remote so well! I just bought a home and one of the remotes isn't working. New battery didn't help, hopefully syncing it will!
his instruction is incomplete, he assumes your remote is set to the right color of your learning button, it could be YELLOW, PURPLE RED or GREEN, it will never work until you match the remote with the color in the instructions the remote comes with. Which are not the best but they give you the sequence which I just gave you and how to cycle it one at the time, never tells you where you are at unfortunately so you have to go one at the time to get to the one you need. the way to cycle them forward is this the following and I will copy them, not the best instructions but its how they put it: 1. Enter programming mode simultaneously press and hold any two buttons on the remote, press the button to be programmed repeatdly, each time you press the button on the programing mode the led of the programmed button will flash first and stay on when the desired function is selected press any button once. the led will turn off.
Yesterday, one of my remote control stopped working, I thought maybe the battery died, so I changed the battery and decide to change a second remote battery as well. So, I followed your example...and reprogrammed the two remotes..but I wasn't successful. When I pushed the button, and then selected one of the buttons on the remote. It opened and closed the garage door, but the remote couldn't do it again. And since I reprogrammed the remote, the 3rd remote stopped working. I tried to reprogram all three remotes...but then only open and closed the garage door once. And that was it. Please advise...thanks.
Probably just cheap remotes had same problem with my other remote so hoped you had the proper way to open, guess not Broke the the clips on this one too so now neither of my remotes will stay closed
I have lift master garage door opener. I want to install a push button key pad outside of my garage door frame and I am having a trouble to program the key pad to sync with my opener using the learn button. I tried to enter the code on my push button key pad within 30 seconds while the led light is on after pressing the learn button on the opener but I don't see any flickering light or no clicking sound on the opener. Can you help me on that trouble.
I have a Craftsman Garage Door Opener. One day only one of the overhead lights would come on. I assumed the other had a burned-out bulb and replaced it. The light still wouldn't work, and it turned out that the old bulb was actually good. After about a week, the light suddenly started working again. Wow, I thought, it fixed itself! A while later the light on the other side of the opener wouldn't work. Finally, both lights are permanently out, although the bulbs are good. They can't be activated by opening or closing the door or by the wall control switch. The opener clicks just as when the lights were working. What do you make of this weird scenario, and how can I get the lights to work again?
Great question! This same scenario has actually happened to me. The connection inside of where the bulb goes was becoming lose and some cases disconnected. I fixed it by first, disconnecting the power from the garage door opener, then fixing the lose connection and bending the metal tabs out more to make a better contact with the bulb. I also replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs and have not had a issue since then. Please sub to our channel, we are starting a vlog!
Have you ever encounter a situation where you replaced batteries, thinking of course the batteries were out as garage door clicker stopped working and now the nothing is programmable to the unit? I changed batteries, followed the common steps of pressing learning button and holding clicker and nothing happens with both of my remotes. Went out and bought another remote and still nothing is programming. Also the keypad is not programming. Starting to think is the logic board.
I have replaced the battery just like you instructed and the remote still won't work. The remote even lights up to show me its working. However, when I try to reprogram it, the garage will still not open or close. Your reprogram button looks exactly as mine as does the remote looks the same except the buttons in different location. Am I still doing something wrong? Help!
crazykidsdad I pressed the reset button thing on the garage door "machine box" and pushed the remote button I wanted to use. My box looks just like yours except the light is a different color
do you think the actual garage "motor box" needs a new battery? I know its plugged in but the light doesn't come on in my garage when the door is opened.
I did everything to change the battery and reprogram it exactly according to your video. Everything is OK. But, the remote is not responsive and cannot open the garage door. What is the possible problem?
crazykidsdad Not working. The battery is brand new. When I press the learn button of the garage door opener and then I press the remote button, the garage door opener light flashes. It should be ok, but still not working. I don’t know why.
My son has one of my remotes and I don't want him to be able to get into the garage, since he is grown and moved out. If I reprogram my remote his remote should not work any longer right?
I normally do not get involved in family issues, but yes, once you clear the codes, all remotes have to be coded again. If you want to discuss the family drama, I can listen.
All my remotes work on garage door number 1 so I know it is fine. But they stopped working on door #2. But the button on the inside of the door operates the door #2 just fine. No lock on the key pad either. (Older model) The door opener is not accepting any codes from any of the three remotes we normally used with the garage door. Any ideas before I go buy a replacement board for the opener?
I changed the battery correctly and then reprogrammed it by pressing the learn button, LED is on and pressing the remote, and the light flashed. It should be ok. But, the remote still cannot work , no response. What is the problem?
I have the same remotes for my Craftsman opener. Trouble is, I can only get one at a time to work. I've programmed each of my 3 remotes, but I have to delete them all and only the first one is recognized when I reprogram them. Doesn't matter which one it is, the receiver only accepts one. weird... It's all good though, I have a workaround that works better than the stock transmitters.
+Charlie Licciardi Try this trick, this helps program remotes and a keypad. 1. Press button on back of garage door opener until it flashes 2. Press 1st transmitter button you want to program, you will hear a click (you can then make sure it works, it should) 3. Press button on back of garage door opener 1 time quickly 4. Press 2nd transmitter button you want to program, you will hear a click (you can then make sure it works, it should) 5. Press button on back of garage door opener 1 time quickly 6. Press 3rd transmitter button you want to program, you will hear a click (make sure it works) 7. Press button on back of garage door opener 1 time quickly 8. Enter code on keypad and press enter, you will hear a click (repress code and enter on keypad to make sure it works) The end, they should all be programmed. The trick is to do all the transmitters and keypads one right after the other, otherwise by pressing the red button too long it cancels out all the codes and only allows one to be programmed.
+crazykidsdad I will keep an eye out for the remotes, when I find them I will replace the batteries and give this a try. Right now I have a separate wireless system tied in to the hard wired button. The range is much higher and I'd bet the security is a bit higher as well, considering where I got them. I WILL give this a try though- THANKS!
Would you believe I can't find any of the original remotes now? My workaround is working well, so I've not put much effort into looking for them. You still out there? It's been a while since you've uploaded anything.
Any resolve?? Maybe you can help with ny issue.. Original remotes lost. Adjacent opener in garage remote attempted to be used (3 button remote) main button opens one door and I'm trying to set the second button to open the door I lost the other remotes for. I'm able to reprogram my remote/second button to open n close the door but it disconnects from the keyless entry pad. I reprogram the entry pad and it disconnects from the remote. Both will not connect at the same time.. Any ideas?
+Susan James Youi can purchase a new battery at any home improvement store. Here is a link from Amazon: www.amazon.com/Energizer-Cr2032-Lithium-Battery-Count/dp/B00D8P5T0U/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1458512313&sr=1-1&keywords=cr2032
We have two vehicles and two remotes. Up until a few days ago both remotes worked for two different residences. Now, only one remote works for both residences at a time. When the second remote gets programmed, then the other remote does't work and vise versa. Why aren't they able to be programmed and work like they did before?
I am having this same problem. I have 2 of the remotes shown in this video. Each one works when they are programmed but I cannot get them both programmed at the same time
The diagnostic code that you are observing (Learn button flashing six times) indicates that the receiver logic board has detected a motor circuit failure through its self diagnostic circuitry. Internal schematics of the receiver logic board are not available to explain further details of this fault code. Since the motor and all of the functions (except the security light) are working properly, you could be getting a false fault code from the receiver logic board. You may be able to clear this code by unplugging the unit to completely disconnect electrical power. Leave it unplugged for 3 to 4 minutes. When you plug it back in, the control board will reset. This may eliminate the fault code. If it reappears, you could have an internal problem in the receiver logic board. If everything is working normally, you should be able to continue to use the garage door opener even though it is flashing the fault code.
I was able to change and program my 21 year old Sears remote garage door openers using these directions. Took less than one minute. Thank you.
I am always willing to help.
Easy peasy...took me 3 weeks to get to it but it’s done now...thanks a lot
My pleasure! Please like and sub!
I looked at a couple videos.. you were the only one to mention that the batteries have a protective cover. Problem solved. thanks!!
Thank you! Please like and sub to support the channel!
It works. Even I could do it with these good, simple , directions.

Wow, that is odd, the remotes are worked, but only for one time?
Have you tried to erase all remote codes and start over?
Very helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I changed the battery, the remote works to open the door but it doesnt to close the door. Would I need to reprogram the remote?
Same problem with my remote & garage door.
Plz tell me the solution.
Thanks
I would try reprogramming it, but if it goes one way, it should go the other. Check to make sure nothing is blocking the door?

Alan Myers You will need to reprogram the second button for the wireless remotes.
crazykidsdad - I have tried reprogramming all 3 remotes for that door, but the unit accepts none of the codes while trying to program it.
Have you tried reprogramming both buttons at the same time, instead of just one?
Thank you!
I changed the battery correctly and then reprogrammed it by pressing the learn button, LED is on and pressing the remote, and the light flashed. It should be ok. But, the remote still cannot work , no response. What is the problem?
Sorry, any luck on this?
Suppose you lost you garage door opener and you want to deactivate it ?
You can erase all transmitters and reprogram each one again. So hard reset the opener, then reprogram each transmitter.
Thanks!!!
No problem!
when i try to open the door i only can hear a click , even manually and de door does not open. what the problem would be?
Thanks !

Dollar store, walmart, anywhere
i don't care about programing. i just cant get it to fit back together.
