    Trevor, this may seem odd, but you conveyed love through your voice. Your passion kept this genre alive and helped plenty of musicians to pave their way.
    I'm glad I had the chance to catch you live, chat with you even for just a minute, and above all to be blessed with your presence on this earth.
    Steadfast, even in death.

      I do miss Shannon Lucas and Ryan Williams being in the band. Alan Cassidy and Max Lavello are outstanding musicians and for a damned good rhythm section, but for me, there's just that something extra that was there in the band's grooves during the era with Lucas and Williams.

    The Black Dahlia Murder is my favorite pop-punk band.
    They will always have a special place in the very center of my heart, for writing touching, soulful lyrics that never ceases to bring tears to my eyes. This band has saved my life.
    However, the best thing about this band is the vocalist, because he is really hot.

    This is "The Black Dahlia Murder". NOT "Lil' Wayne's Carters 2-4". Whoever brought up Lil' Wayne into this comment section, is an ABSOLUTELY idiotic disgrace to "The Black Dahlia Murder" an on quote. Lil' Wayne only wishes he could play guitar like them, but he's got better things to do. LIKE, fucking up a guitar performance publicly for all to see. If he should invest in something, I think it's a few years of guitar lessons. NOW, stop talking about him, And let's just fucking chill to the eargasmic sound of Dahlia Murder. The ones who don't epically fail at THEIR technical guitar playing, with their brutal crunch from hell, their beautiful minor patterns and runs, and epic shredding goodness. Something that Lil' Wayne, CANNOT DO.

    • @6idangle
      @6idangle 9 лет назад +2

      Yea I went through the same thing with them, they are a bit of a conundrum because the heavy purists never embrace them cause of their following mostly but at the same time their music is well written musically and is very reminiscent or the early days of melodeath with a modern spin! They are one of my favorite bands actually. People tend to discount them because they have a large following I think.

    • @MelodeathxTed
      @MelodeathxTed 9 лет назад +5

      GuitarGodsUnite Yup me too. I was always under the impression that they were deathcore and shit, mostly because of their logo, their country of origin, and their fanbase.
      Nope. This is as melodeathy as it gets. Having heard countless melodeath, I can tell.

    • @TheFrogasaurus
      @TheFrogasaurus 9 лет назад +1

      Melodeath Ted Hold up there, what's wrong with deathcore?

    • @MelodeathxTed
      @MelodeathxTed 9 лет назад +7

      xXFROGASAURUSXx
      Don't take this the wrong way, because you're free to like deathcore if you want, but to answer your question: Everything.
      There is almost nothing redeemable about deathcore imo. The only good deathcore bands are the ones that ironically enough, stray their sound away from deathcore (Like Whitechapel)
      It's repetitive, it's annoying, it's simplistic (Most of them time) it's scenish (Most of the time)
      It's the kind of music that is fitting of a teenager who is taking his first steps away from "radio rock" into the deep dark abyss known as "METAL" only instead of digging deep, and challenging himself, in order to find the treasure at the end, he stops at the beginning, picks up a rock and calls it a jewel. No further exploration of the abyss (The subgenres of metal) needed.
      This is my personal, and very biased opinion of deathcore as a whole. I'm sure you'll disagree on most if not all fronts, but this is basically what I misinterpreted The Black Dahlia Murder to sound like, so I wanted nothing to do with them.
      Of course, after giving them an actual extensive listen, I realized that they play music not too different from my own preferences. In other words, it was right up my alley.

    • @TheFrogasaurus
      @TheFrogasaurus 9 лет назад +4

      I see where you're coming from, but usually those that bash on deathcore just think the bands like Black Veil Brides and Pierce The Veil are deathcore and judge the whole genre on that, when they're post-hardcore or garbagecore whatever haha.
      As well as people bashing it haven't really dug deep into deathcore itself, it's a rather diverse genre if you're not a casual listener. At the start I used to just love all kinds of death metal (tech death still my favourite), but I listened to deathcore and at first thought the same as you and everyone else, but I dug deep into the genre and discovered that it's one of the overall heaviest genres and a lot of lesser known or mid-status bands are extremely talented, kinda like "tech-deathcore" if that's a real thing.
      For me, deathcore was the END of the metal spectrum, I'd touched every genre before and naturally despised deathcore but now it's mainly all I listen to.
      I promise you, a lot of deathcore fans such as myself detest the scene image assosciated with it, it's just emo kids decided the singer of Suicide Silence was hot one day and I guess it grew from there.
      The deathcore fanbase is 50/50 with emo cunts and regular metal fans. If you can, give deathcore a chance. Try out bands like Aversions Crown, Rings of Saturn, Disfiguring The Goddess, Enterprise Earth, Echoes of Misanthropy, A Night in Texas (amazing band), Thy Art is Murder and Angelmaker!

    I'm just dumbfounded by all of the wankers who waste time and words on determining the specific genre or flavor of metal something is...I'm just calling it metal and that is all.

    • @TheOmegaeyes
      @TheOmegaeyes 9 лет назад

      Purists are just silly and trivial. I love something from all genres.

    • @6idangle
      @6idangle 9 лет назад +7

      Just in the way that we taxanomically determine classes of animals in the ever evolving entity that is life. So too must we label the different genres of metal however, that doesn't mean we should only listen to one subgenre. But just calling all of the harder rock music post Sabbath the same thing fails to fully accommodate the evolution of our genre

    • @jononipinchbeck2531
      @jononipinchbeck2531 9 лет назад +2

      Tyler Potts That is only a question of opinion regarding a desperate attempt at some kind of differentiation set as a task to intellectualize the categorization of musical genres. Simply an attempt for sophistication which is outside subjectivity. I call it organized despair, and it does nothing to actually contribute to the music...get over it.

    • @6idangle
      @6idangle 9 лет назад +1

      I totally agree with what you just said but like I said just calling it all metal doesn't tell the whole story

    • @jononipinchbeck2531
      @jononipinchbeck2531 9 лет назад +1

      Tyler Potts My point is that each band is its own sound and story, in spite of whatever groupings the fan base desperately try to invent and cram them under. In essence each band is it's own genre, building off of previous works and/or in spite of previous works. The other task of categorization, sub-categorization...ad nauseum is a convention of those who listen, not those who play...typically.

    @Infidelamsterdam In my opinion they're hyped up because they're like a mix of melodic death metal, hardcore metal, death metal and deathcore.
    They don't seem bound to certain genre, they have their own sound.

    These guys never cease to amaze me. I usually hate how metal bands "progress", but I've been growing with these guys since unhallowed. They got me away from slipknot and that bullshit (I was about 13) and showed me a new world of talented brutality.

    @xXxglassgowdreamxXx screaming or growling or abrasive vocals have been a major feature in metal for 20+ years, if you wanna listen to metal it's just something you're going to have to get used to or learn to like.
    also "throughout the whole song" is an interesting point, how long does it take to hate this? Did you like it for the first minute, and then started hating it after that when you realized there would be no soft chorus to sing along to?

    @JohnnySuckss How so?
    Moonlight: the light of the moon
    Equilibrium: the state of equal balance between powers, influences, etc.
    So, "moonlight equilibrium" is the balance of powers set by the light of the moon

    I'm not talking about your taste in music. I am talking about you as a person.
    You might like the bonus track of origin's new album, it's so...'you'.
    Have fun.

    @rock101100 their demos were deathcore a good example of that you can listen to is "paint it black" but after that the melodic death metal sound started creeping in.

    First Death Metal band with screams that I heard when I was about 8... At the time I still called this emo screamo, but since 14, (3 years ago) I have come to appreciate these guys and all their talent. Amazing stuff!!
