Hey Tommy, This design will definitely test one's skill level and this video just shows you are a Master Scroller and love scrolling. I liked the idea of using Elmer's Glue Stick when the paper pops up off the wood. On a side note, is the camera lens a little dusty or maybe it just my old eye sight getting worn down? Just might need to go * get the eyes checked.
Thank you. The lens was probably dusty. I get so involved with the project it is hard to remember to film it or set things up properly. I am not a videographer. Planning, filming and editing are all new to me and it shows. And, I am a one man act in a small cluttered shop with multiple other interests. We have ducks, chickens, geese, rabbits, dogs, cats and a fair sized garden and yard to tend to. But I love scrolling and enjoy learning how to film and produce a video. No one told me that retirement was such hard work!
@@twinoakstreasures9032 Now that the grandkids are no longer involved in sports and other activities, the need to be a videographer and editor , with many different video editing programs to achieve the desired effects, has now gone by the wayside. I have giving away or sold nearly all of the cameras, tripods, small monitors, microphones, batteries, lens for cameras, carrying case and almost forgot microphones. Also have moved all videos and programs off main computer onto an external hard drive. Just before doing a video take, I had to clean off the lens of all cameras, could not believe how dirty they could at a hockey event, now a soccer or lacrosse event, I could understand why those lens got dirty, outside conditions with dust flying everywhere. Yes, being retired, over 75 now, is a lot more work, maybe not as strenuous as when younger. :) But just keep on thinking young & improving on what you like to do. Just keep loving your neighbors.
Thank you. On this one I used a Flying Dutchman XL #3. That is a skip tooth, non reverse tooth blade 21 tpi. I would normally use a reverse tooth blade on this but found that I was out of #3's. I use mostly #5's and keep just a few of the others on hand. I didn't realize that I had used the last one. But it worked ok.
@@twinoakstreasures9032 Thank you for the reply. It looked like a 2.0 blade but It could be the camera that made it look smaller than it was. Just getting started in scroll sawing and trying to learn all I can.
I used a #5 Flying Dutchman blade on this project. I have since switched to Pegas blades. I normally try to run the machine as fast as the work will allow. Thickness of the material vs the width of teeth can determine that as well as the density of the wood. I try not the heat the wood and burn it a high speed in a dense material. I go with my sense of smell on that, I can often smell it if it is too hot. On this one I was at max speed most of the time, with the right material and blade that can give a "polished" look to the cut edge. But cutting at a high speed in a soft wood can be too aggressive and cause problems in some areas of a tight pattern. But I used a #5 at a high speed on the Walnut and it cut very nicely.
