  • The how, why, and what to do as bystanders, parents, healthcare providers, and CPSTs. As of August 18, 2022, 17 U.S. children have died from pediatric vehicular heatstroke. And summer is not over. In this webinar, Katie Donnelly, MD, MPH, from Children’s National Medical Center will cover the unique physiology of children’s responses to heat, the treatment for overheated children, and why cars are so dangerous to kids. She will also address the critical steps to take if you find a child left alone in a car and overheating, as well as tips for educating caregivers to prevent this problem. CPSTs will also learn tips for integrating pediatric vehicular heatstroke prevention into their car safety seat checks and activities, and learn of free resources for Maryland residents.
