There's something very touching about two stanzas at 1:28: Confusion never stops / I drove to New York Closing walls and ticking clocks / In a van, with my friend Come back and take you home / We slept in parking lots I could not stop, that you now know, singing / I don't mind, I don't mind Come out upon my seas / I was in love with the place Cursed missed opportunities am I / In my mind, in my mind A part of the cure / I made a lot of mistakes Or am I part of the disease, singing / In my mind, in my mind
I actually hadn’t listening to this mashup in years and so when the normal version of clocks came along on my Spotify shuffle I was like... why does this feel wrong? After a few minutes of googling I was brought back to this mix. Forgot how much I loved this.
Was listening to Chicago today, suddenly remembered the melody of clocks. had to google it if someone had the same idea. holy molly man, what a mashup. 12 years without knowing this masterpiece
wow the top comments made a sentence! "This is not so much a mashup as it is two song being played at the same time. But it still works well, surprisingly."
I’m just now finding the song Chicago because of The Bear then I went searching for this mashup. I love both of the songs but I feel robbed because I’m JUST now finding it 😭 better late than never
highly recommend you check the whole Illinois album that chicago comes from, it’s stacked back to back with chamber pop bangers My favorite songs from it are Chicago, Come on Feel the Illinoise, Jacksonville, Cashimir Pulsaki Day and John Wayne Gacy Jr (the last two are quite sad)
I like this a lot. Even though it may not exactly be a mash-up, it takes two fantastic songs and puts them together to create a new and different sound. It creates something in which two different peoples ideas and emotions are combined to give people who are fans of each a new and interesting perspective. I think while it is not as good as the two original songs, it is a great way to experience a bit of both!
Ps I love how the picture is a clock in chicago

This is like my favorite song of all times. I spend about 2 hours looking for it because I heard it like 3 years ago and I remember I loved it!
I hated the fact it had both vocals at first because it didn't feel natural. But then it grew on me
came here to say this
Gorgeous! 3:25 to 3:55 is the perfect combo of the 2 songs!
100% agree
This brings me to a good place every time I hear it, just incredible and so special to me. Thank you
11 years and still makes me teary :') so beautiful
Is it weird that this made me tear up because it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my life?
This song is so calming, wonderful to listen to on a long car trip!

If you listen to these two songs as they are unedited, they are also different keys and tempos. It's only when you sync those up that they work.
Holy god this is amazing
Omg this... this... it's so good words can't describe it *.*
it just blew my mind! great song!
Coldplay and Sufjan are two of my favorite artists, so this made my night xD

This is magic.
experiencing the peak of human emotion rn
I loved it the first time I heard it way back when, and I *still* love it.
Why is this so beautiful...
This, children, is what we call an "eargasm"
It is the Marshall Field and Company Building, indeed located in Chicago. The building's Wikipedia page discusses the clocks and includes pictures.
I love this so much.
It matches up so perfectly!
Oh my God, this is beautiful!
How on earth was this made!?
oh my gosh this is so clever and so amazing !!!!!!!!! thank you for sharing this
This is stunningly beautiful ❤

How is there not a live collaborative version of this?
This>everything else

This should actually happen in their concerts. If they worked even harder on this, it could be even more amazing. Good job!
This greatly pleases me.
