Nicely done. I love how it despite being in G minor has an upbeat sound (and on harpsichord it sounds downright jovial and jolly). I always enjoy listening to various versions of this piece.
The piece that inspired the famous Halvorsen Passacaglia for violin and cello. Listen out at 1:35 for the exact part that forms the popular piano version.
Another excellent song as well as a magnificent and exciting interpretation, I liked it a lot, congratulations from Madrid and see you soon Louise, like 42
Wow, that's wonderful✨✨✨ I've only listened to the piano part of Passacaglia, I didn't know it was such a wonderful piece! Louise's change in piano tone was wonderful and captivated😍✨ Thank you for the wonderful performance🎉🎉
Aha!!! So Halverson took a small portion of a much bigger Handel composition and made a pop tune out of it? (It makes a wonderful pop tune, I love it!) It's great to hear the source material. Excellent performance, Louise!!!!!
Well done Louise! This was an impressive interpretation of this classical tune and you played it with great mastery like always. It's great to watch you play the piano again. Keep it up!
Louise, this was remarkable, as all of your performances are. So glad to see your subscribers have gone beyond 8K now. That beautiful smile is the cherry on top of this treat. Thank you, my friend. Give the boys big hugs and some gentle pats to the Ragdolls, for me. 🤗❤🎹🎼🎶
I am glad you shared this! It is great to know the background of Halverson's transcription. Love that ending trill and everything before it! Great playing, Louise!
Wahhhhh I love the multiple angles + the sheet too. Makes it so clear in understanding what's happening throughout the variations! Your performance is top top notch as always, those staccatos are soooo satisfying to listen to! 🔥🔥
Hello Louise, just to let you know I haven't gone away. I'm still enjoying your music when I can listen to it but now I'm a working bloke and painting and decorating in my spare time I can't view your premieres when they're published. Keep making enjoyable piano videos Leweeze and hoping Patrice is okay.
I enjoyed your rendition of Handel's original Passacaglia. I appreciate that you played it without repeating each phrase. I have a question: Halvorsen's arrangement of Handel's Passacaglia is for violin and viola, although it is sometimes played with cello instead of viola. Apart from this, I cannot find any similarities between the authentic Halvorsen arrangement and the piano version that you describe as "Halvorsen inspired." Do you have any information about a piano version of this piece by Halvorsen, who was primarily a violinist? I find it quite unfair that nowadays almost everyone refers to "Passacaglia by Handel / Halvorsen" as something that is actually a completely modern arrangement, as far as I know, by the RUclipsr "Pianistos" in 2012.
