A snap roll of final would have been the pièce de résistance. My neck got sore watching that video. Nicely marked land for reference points during this exercise. Wheee!
Sweet flight and a beautiful spot to bust some Gs! I feel like I need to learn your ways of persuasion from you so I can fly every HP acro bird out there except the Genpro of course! 😆 Seems like the only way to decide which one to buy next
Looks like you are having a blast. How different to the Extra 300 that you usually fly? Just more of everything? Also this might be a dumb question but if you pin the plane down like 90 degree towards the horizon, will it eventually overspeed or does the contant speed prop make sure to add enough resistance to keep the speed limited to a certain number?
Yeah, more of everything except weight. The SC is much lighter than the 300L. Thats not a dumb question at all ! No, the airplane will exceed its airspeed limit if you just leave it pointed straight down however you're right, the propeller RPM will be kept within limits by the governor.
I've watched your other videos where you were flying the Pitts. Comparison between the two airplanes? I'm flying the Model 12 now, looking to possibly go with the 330NG although a well known show pilot and competitor. is telling me stick with the metal framed Extras, not the plastic one. Thoughts?
Comparing a 330SC and a Pitts is like comparing a 2.0L VW Golf and a Ferrari. Both are sports cars but performance wise there isn't much of a comparison. No disrespect to a Pitts though. I love those airplanes but in a different way. The model 12 looks incredible. I never had the chance to fly one. I flew the Extra NG a couple times this summer. Incredible airplane. About 90% of the performance of the 330SC but with TWO seats and its certified. The NG uses a different process to make their carbon fuselage than MX does. I believe its a super safe airframe from what I've experienced/heard.
Unless the advice is coming from a composites engineer who personally designed the NG layup schedule and manufacturing process, its not really valid advice. Not all composites are the same. But there are huge benefits to well-designed composite fuselages, structural stiffness and crash energy absorption are going to be infinitely better than welded steel tube. Not to mention corrosion, fatigue, and maintenance being reduced to about 0.01% that of steel.
WOW I can't believe how smooth & fast it snaps.. KILLER FLIGHT..

That metallic redish color is very pleasing.
That looks like so much fun. What a machine!!!
So much power!! Excellent video
The sound of those snap rolls is crazy
Music to my ears ! :D
Of all the Extras…IMHO…the 330sc is
the sexiest thing they made and the minimalist windshield is the fire! So streamlined and classic lined!!
Nice work and what a plane!!
Thank you ! Such a dream to fly it ! 😍

@@LukePennerAerobatics so you won’t over rev the motor but you will still overspeed the aircraft, correct?
@@NatedoGPexactly!
Great flying for the first time in the SC! Do you have some footage of your Sukhoi flight as well?
I do ! Although I felt like a stranger in a foreign land during that flight 😅. I've got lots of videos to upload in the coming months :)
"I'll try spinning - that's a good trick"
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! Will there be a Extra 330 in your future????
If I can help it... YES !
Wow Luke! What a plane and what a pilot! Nice half rolling circle...Don't see that too much. What was your max G that flight +/_ ?
Hey, thank you !! Kept the G relatively tame on this flight. Was +7.8 and -4.5 or so.
@@LukePennerAerobatics Those do not seem like tame numbers. Do you were a G-suit or just train for the G's?
What is the black strip you use to keep the air vent in the plexiglass shut?
That's your performance first time? Wow

wearing a parachute is wild. Why? In what scenario would you feel the need to jump out of an aircraft?
One question. Why does it say EXPE(RIMENTAL I guess) ? Isn't Extra certified? I've seen at least one 330LT also had that big EXPERIMENTAL sign.
The single seat Extras are experimental. No need to certify a single seat I suppose
Thats pretty wicked man! , and u need a haircut ! 😎
Thanks! haha you are NOT kidding. Need a chop ASAP
Such a sick aircraft!
How much adverse-yaw does it have with those huge ailerons? Or How much rudder is needed with max aileron deflection?
Not much with the paddles on the ailerons
👍👍
Good your scared of it but nice ride right enjoy
"Banking more than 30 degrees is unsafe".
"Well..."
Life is unsafe. Live a little.
Looks fun, but try GenPro 😁
I'm waiting for an invitation from the British Aerobatic Academy to do that :)
Why are all the rolls to the left? Can you not do rolls to the right?
