I agree with Taylor (as someone who travels for work). Please book flights directly from the airline company. Only use the booking sites to find good prices. If you book through a 3rd part site and there hiccups, cancellations or mishaps, the airline customer service can’t help you. They’ll likely tell you to speak to the 3rd party site and the 3rd party sites are snakes.
Girl GAME CHANGER! Thank you! I legit just looked at my rental car and realized the original $630 reservation could be switched to a $272 one, and managed to snag a full-size instead of a jelly bean car😊
If possible when I’m trying to cancel and rebook something that’s now less expensive, I try to do the rebooking step FIRST, then the cancellation step. I got burned a time or two cancelling first. It doesn’t always work, but might save some angst. Also, for car rentals, I find Costco Travel to be the least expensive most of the time. TFS! 💜

I've been given everything from a couple of loose Hershey kisses to Starbucks gift cards. Even just being extra kind is the move, too. I can't tell you how many times I've not charged someone for something during the service just because they were extra kind to me

I'd like to add one thing about third party booking sites. My husband and I both work in the hotel industry, in two heavy tourist towns. Just because you've booked via third party site, doesn't mean you're going to get exactly what they sold you, and if when checking in, the hotel can't give you what the booking site sold you, it's not the hotels fault, and during peak season, they probably can't make the changes you need/want.
@@katrod46 basically lol I also work in hotels (Marriott specifically.. for many years, also in a tourist area) and also a lot of hotels oversell rooms like airlines oversell seats and if for some reason the hotel is oversold, 3rd party bookings generally get sent to other properties first compared to loyalty program members. Also, I would recommend never prepaying on 3rd party either because if something happens (maintenance issues, cleanliness issues, etc.) there is basically no way for the hotel to compensate you financially since you paid the 3rd party, not the hotel directly. Join Marriott bonvoy, or hilton rewards etc and you’ll get discounts, garner points, and some properties will even match 3rd party rates because they don’t want to deal with the 3rd party reservation’s accounts payable from an accounting standpoint. I would just generally avoid 3rd party and climb the ranks in your favorite brand’s loyalty program. I tried twice and both times when I went to pick up the car - there were absolutely no cars available and the person could Not cancel it for us so I had to call and cancel though expedia. BUT then expedia would tell me the person in the car rental had to cancel and they both were telling me the same thing and it was a nightmare. I book direct especially MGM being a Gold Member I get my resort fees waived and it's the same cost. I book Timeshare 3 Day 4 nights at Club Wyndham Vegas for $287 in a 1 bedroom Suite with $200 Ceasrs Dining. I use my Alaska Miles for Wergate and paid $80 for resort fee and a Suite upgrade. At Flamingo I got a voucher from getting an Auto insurance Quote for $220 and asked for an upgrade which I got. I play My Vegas Rewards and got a Free Night and Park MGM and got an upgrade . The next night I booked a luxury 1 bedroom Suite at MGM Signature for $125.
I actually find the opposite to be true. Domestic US flights price each leg individually whether you book one way or round trip (therefore no difference between RT or OW). International flights are frequently cheaper if you book round trip.
Dealing with the 3rd party websites for hotels has been a nightmare. Their customer service is awful. I just book through the hotel and no issues ever. Normally I can check in several hours early. And when the hotel overbooks, the 3rd party reservations are the first to be booted. I want to try the dog sitting ❤️❤️
I was able to cancel a trip to France because I did not accept flight changes. I really wanted to go but I was traveling during covid. France was supposed to be opening up 3 days after we were supposed to arrive. My Airbnb had the option to cancel with a 7 day notice. Our trip was cancelled 10 days before we were to leave. I lost nothing except time planning.
I don't get it. Why would people force themselves to travel if they're on a tight budget? There is time for everything. A time to save and a time to travel.
Such a good video!!! Definitely want to look into the pet sitter thing to check off some places off the bucket list that arent super high priority but would be more worth it if the trip is real afforable. Thanks for sharing your travel tips 🖤🖤
I love the TMobile international plan, but man, their service was always so bad! I used it in Spain, Italy, and Canada (and the US) and the service just sucked everywhere, it ended up not being worth it!
Love the tips! I've been booking shorter 4 day trips during the week instead of the weekend. Hotels and bed and breakfasts are so much pricier for the weekend.
Question, if you don't accept the flight change offered and then opt to cancel or rebook the flight for "free" do you pay the current flight price which is most likely a higher price than the price you paid months in advance?
I recommend that you always read the small letters or the conditions. It can be different. I never recommend cancelling voluntarily, for example in the case of an announced strike. Wait until the flight is cancelled then you will be offered a solution. If you voluntarily change your booking, you must pay the price at the time of the new booking or the difference between the two.
If you don't accept a flight change, you are still on the flight. So your price doesn't change because you were already charged. You would only want contact the airline and cancel the flight (not accept the flight change), if you found a cheaper option available (but don't tell them that, just say you're cancelling due to their flight change), or if you no longer want to take the flight.
Definitely for a certain type of traveler and hard to find good places that are worth it, not my cup of tea personally and usually so expensive relative to other options. But some people love them!
Flying in and out of Amman is always expensive, the only way around it is to fly into a neighboring country first…which can be a lil challenging for multiple reasons.
PRO TIP when you are the security checkpoint: For electronics like laptops Phones or cameras it is always better to send them last through the screening.. if you send them first before you clear the security.. you might give a chance to someone to pick your item and leave

Your Awesome Taylor. I just signed up for a few apps you talked about. Thank you for this video. I'm sending it to al my many friends and family. It's great information to know. ❤ Suzann
I am too stupid or don't travel enough to understand any of this 😅 it's like a foreign language to me. I have never really been anywhere that I've booked myself. I've been on 3 cruises but my parents booked everything.
What airlines gives refundable flights that arent double the price?
I literally just saved over $500 by rebooking my rental car for FL next week! Thank you!! 😘
Hi Taylor good morning happy Monday morning and I hope you having amazing weekend and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Me never travels ,me no plans to travel, also me I must watch Taylor's video😊 She is so passionate& knowledgeable . The info may help me help someone else
Ahh, so excited to watch! I thought of you yesterday while I was driving-and when I checked the clock, it was 11:11am. 🤣❤
I actually find the opposite to be true. Domestic US flights price each leg individually whether you book one way or round trip (therefore no difference between RT or OW). International flights are frequently cheaper if you book round trip.
I would love to hear about the Greece trip. I’m going in August and could use some advice
Thank you Taylor. I'm a single older woman traveling. Those tips are really helpful! Hugs from Philly... ❤
This was like cliff notes for travel--wow.
Great video and tips. TFS. Take care
I do most of these but didn't know you could bid on flight upgrades! Can you bid with points?
If you have foreign change just deposit it to your Starbucks account. No fees!
I don't get it. Why would people force themselves to travel if they're on a tight budget? There is time for everything. A time to save and a time to travel.
Air Canada? Does this mean we can look forward to some Canadian travel content?
Such a good video!!! Definitely want to look into the pet sitter thing to check off some places off the bucket list that arent super high priority but would be more worth it if the trip is real afforable. Thanks for sharing your travel tips 🖤🖤
taylor because of you i plan on moving from canada to australia 💕 thank you for helping every step of the way!
We want to go to Spain, any ideas? We are ok with some touristy areas but would like to check out other local hidden areas.
I love the TMobile international plan, but man, their service was always so bad! I used it in Spain, Italy, and Canada (and the US) and the service just sucked everywhere, it ended up not being worth it!
That's too bad because I have T-Mobile and have experienced just the opposite with my travel...maybe it could be your phone (?)
@@jgheart3018 maybe 🤷🏻♀️ but I did have a variety of different phones with T-Mobile and I just couldn’t get it to work
Love the tips! I've been booking shorter 4 day trips during the week instead of the weekend. Hotels and bed and breakfasts are so much pricier for the weekend.
I had an issue getting a round trip ticket at a resonable price, endin up doing one way its 800 cheaper
One of the best videos you have ever done. Thank you so, so much.
Thanks for sharing these incredible money-saving travel hacks!
@@taylorwynn Got it 👍. I love knowing tips and tricks.
How do you feel about an all inclusive vacation? Do you think they are worth it?
Thank you for making traveling feel accessible 💕
Definitely for a certain type of traveler and hard to find good places that are worth it, not my cup of tea personally and usually so expensive relative to other options. But some people love them!
I think a good bit depends on your normal alcohol consumption too. We aren’t really big drinkers so it’s not a great option for us.
How do you book your Amman trips because those tickets are no joke!
Flying in and out of Amman is always expensive, the only way around it is to fly into a neighboring country first…which can be a lil challenging for multiple reasons.
Ugh! Isn’t it?! Thanks for your input! Family’s found the cheapest to be a stop in Istanbul.
Some great ideas! Thank you!
I have a yearly travel insurance policy.
Perfect timing
Costco travel is where it is!!
So for the return flight do we cancel or no show on the return?
I like hostels and im in my 40s 😅😅
When you travel ALOT, its there and a great way to meet people.
Been watching you for years and taking my first real solo trip to Europe this summer!
PRO TIP when you are the security checkpoint: For electronics like laptops Phones or cameras it is always better to send them last through the screening.. if you send them first before you clear the security.. you might give a chance to someone to pick your item and leave
Looks like you have to pay to be a sitter
Definitely would love more travel tip videos. Would love a camping 101. Thank you! ❤🎉
Great video concept!!
