Out of all the anime airing this season, I decided to be a romcom sucker and my favorite anime this season is The Dangers in my Heart. That anime literally is danger to my heart as well.
Whoever wants something different, I suggest trying out "The unwanted undead adventurer". It is not an isekai. While the initial idea may look generic, the execution is very well done. It doesn't overwhelm us with information. Meaning we get just enough to be wondering what will happen in the next episode, always being something interesting that I didn't expect before. The series know how to keep an air of mystery well. The character wins battles not because he is strong, but because he is picking the battles he can win. There are attractive female characters, but it is not an anime harem. There are some RPG mechanics like going into dungeons to do guild quests, but it is not a real game with exp, level, stats, etc. It is not amazing, but I think it does each episode very well. I keep wondering what will happen in the next episodes more than any other show in this season, and I think that is awesome.
@@HolyRamanRajyaanything is more grounded than the concept that pushups and running 10kms a day is all you need for an overall fit, lean body while also somehow turning your personality into an edgelord
@@HolyRamanRajyaDefinitely. Solo Leveling seems more for the people who wants epic battles. The undead adventurer is for people wondering how the main character will try to handle his curse next.
I honestly liked Bravern's BL more than Cherry Magic. The story and characters are more dynamic and everything just feels more alive and insanely fun. The omission of the bl tag means the story isn't plagued by *those* kinds of tropes that hold back the genre, and the animation is also high quality and consistent, whereas its what made me drop CM because I couldn't stand it 😭 I can see why this is so popular in Japan, but its kinda weird that it hasn't caught on in the west.
Missed opportunity to shout out Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss, But I'm Not the Demon Lord. Sure, it's yet another villainess isekai, but the twist is that our protagonist is a power-gaming, murderhobo little munchkin.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: A Sign of Affection is an absolute banger this season. One of the FEW adult romances. Actually focuses on the main duo. And art and music are premium!!! So far it doesn't appear like they are doing a bad job on representing being hearing impaired either. GIVE IT A WATCH YOU WILL GIGGLE AT ITS CUTENESS.
It is kinda hard to watch. Itsuomi just feels like an NTR bad guy inserted into the role of a male lead here. He's straightforward, but in a creepy rather than earnest way.
@@fourthpanda Not the first time I've seen it. He's like, super aggressive, but because he's hot it's okay. Like, imagine if he wasn't drawn so attractively but did the same actions, people would absolutely hate him.
You asked what I needed you for in this video. Positivity around anime. Holy shit the internet sucks all the fun out of everything! But now I have like 8 shows I'm excited about this season. Thanks Garnt
The Witch and the Beast is a glaring omission! Duo of agents for a magic organization investigating cases of witches. Searching for the one who cursed one of them. Banger of the season
I wasn’t totally expecting to get hooked into Utena’s shenanigans with her magical girls (especially the heavy bdsm elements) but somehow it was latched onto me
I'm fully caught up with the manga. It's honestly surprisingly good and the comedy just hits for some reason (especially in the manga). Also ,for how "weird" it is, it's surprisingly wholesome at times.
Some people watch that show because they are degen weebs. Some people, stay because Utena is an entertaining nut case degen and that is a rarity for those kinds of shows.
I knew what I was getting into, since i read the manga, and the show still surprised me. Its glorious, to the point where talking about it on the Magical Girls subreddit is BANNED lmao
Long story short, local schoolgirl takes a wrong turn at Albuquerque, accidentally becomes evil and subsequently develops a penchant for BDSM. Yeah, we live in a post-Redo of Healer world...
unwanted undead kind of a banger you glossed over, someone finally asked the question "what if skeleton knight wasn't a generic dull milquetoast pile of white bread" and the answer is that it'd be pretty cool
Those who read the manga know that Dungeon Meshi has a lot more in store than creative monster biology and delicious looking food, for those who haven't read it, I just gotta say that sit and wait cause it will get a lot more deep and even quite dark, the way Ryoko Kui builds up the story is simply impressive
you guys are missing out on Villainess Level 99 and The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil! Both had weak first episodes but the story picked up right after, I recommend giving them both 3 episodes at least. Doctor Elise and Strongest Tank have also been pretty good
Agreed on the first 3. I dropped Strongest Tank on e3 cuz it seemed pretty generic (Tho I may pick it up again because I heard there was twincest kissing 😏) Weakest Tamer is easily the most slept on anime of the season though fr
@@KFP_Prophet weakest tamer was super slow, though i may give it another chance. does the pace pick up? the constant internal monologue gets a bit boring
i agree with the villainsess i get what they where trying to do but that format doesn't really work like with eminence in shadow i actually droped that after the first episode because its so bad if i hadn't decided to give episode 2 a shot after all the good reviews i would have never seen what a good anime that is. the only anime iv seen with a good fake out first episode is talentless nana and thats because the anime description is also mostly a fake out too so your not waiting for the true main character to finally show themsevels its just a genuian plot twist.
I've been surprisingly drawn in by 7th time loop. I think the hook for it is that the villain/love interest, the prince is a genuinely terrifying presence at times. His introduction in the first episode does a fantastic job of establishing him as a threat. I think it's mostly the eyes, but his character design was very well done. A part of me hopes they'll surprise me and have him wind up as the ruthless tyrant he was in every previous life.
No mention of Fluffy Paradise , 'Tis Time for "Torture", Princess', or Weakest Tamer? Then again I do feel the best shows this season are the continuations of Apothecary Diaries and Frieren.
Yeah this video is a bit weaker than his older seasonal videos. Though maybe there's just way too many shows to cover because more and more studios are making more and more good series. But then again, he covered Gushing over Magical Girls but not 'Tis Time for Torture or Mr Villain's Day Off, so... 😑
Same as Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete. It's such an unexpected pick to animate, but I guarantee the story goes hard and I can't wait to see most of what's in the manga gets animated
7th Time Loop somehow show past both of those for me and I still don't know how or when it happened. And I love both Frieren and Apothecary Diaries. Not saying you'll like it as much, but definitely at least give it a try.
@@Ralathar44 if you dont know how or why, let me suggest: maybe it was the protagonist. I just absolutely love her steadfast resolve on the things she set out to do in her 'lives', and the way she approaches her struggles using her past experience is well written. Frieren and Apothecary Diaries are still fairly above 7th Loop for me though, but it is pretty good
Yeah it’s been fucking great. Some people think it’s overhyped because the anime hasn’t yet reached where the actual hype Comes from. ARISE. Edit: If you’ve read the Manwha you should know the Story isn’t a masterpiece. But Popular shows, like JJK and Demon slayer are well beloved despite its Lack luster Story. Nothing stopping Solo leveling from doing same thing.

this is a typical trope called フラグ(FULAGU, means flag in English. "Flags are flags in English, and true or false in programming, and are words that mean variables used in conditional branches, etc., but the flags handled in this section are in stories such as movies, novels, dramas, manga, anime, video games, etc., It is a technical term that refers to things that later bring out specific developments and situations. Although it is synonymous with foreshadowing, the flag is said to have the implication of a relatively simple and stylized "regular pattern"." source: translated from JP wiki)
does it have a real plot though? the manga feels like there is no plot or development so I dropped it. I don't like anime with no real plot or just a bunch of shorts.
well yeah if the anime ever get this far ( probably for a third season ) mc will start doing some real unholy things with fmc but also some of the other girls of his harem
Bravern has been the highlight for me. Especially in one of the most recent episodes with the underwater battle and he tells Isami that the fluid is oxygenated and that it's like the movie "The Abyss" Just pure ridiculousness!
Your best Anime Nutshell I've ever seen (and I've seen all the ones you've made xD). So many jokes were made that I'll watch it three more times in a row. Perfect
Some sad news in regards of Solo Leveling. The co-creator and illustrator of the Solo Leveling manhwa passed away on July 23, 2022 at the age of 40 due to a Cerebral Hemorrhage from a chronic illness. He was very excited when he was informed about the anime adaption and would be beyond happy if people enjoy it. But sadly he never was able to see the anime adaption in time.
I've been a fan of A Sign of Affection manga, and I'm so delighted that it's getting an anime adaptation. It's such a wholesome and sweet story, and their relationship develops so organically, where they genuinely show interest and support in one another, wanting to meet the other where they are at. Super recommend this one.
9 episodes in, and I haven't seen any Triangle. I totally get what you mean, but this seems ass one-sided, as it can get. Hope this explains it ^^@@madara657
I did not expect it to be my anime of the season but so far its my favorite. I'm not even big on romance animes, its just really interesting and well written and she combat rolled her way into my heart somehow.
@@kiattim2100 Far from it, she makes many mistakes and gets outmaneuvered many times but she is able to adapt on the fly well thanks to the experience she's gained. The last episode in particular was a MASSIVE oversight on her part causing significant ramifications and danger for herself and others. And the areas where she does excel is well explained via her experience and not any OP powerset...she's still just normal person powered and has limits to what she can do or influence. You're clearly not actually watching the show.
As a light novel reader, it just keeps getting better and better! the ML and FL are well written, and they have great chemistry! the ML (who I was worried was going to be another cold but sweet for the FL type of ml) is one of my favourite MLs ever (he has a good backstory and doesn't always revolve around the FL, same for her as well).
Something fun about the concept of cherry magic is that tensei slime references the power in its first ep, which is the reason why rimuru gained the great sage/raphael power in the first place!
Bang Brave Bang Bravern might be a homage to an anime series from the 90's known as the Brave/Yuusha series which is made between a collaboration of Sunrise (Gundam's animation studio) and Takara (the toy company that made Transformers toys) thus it is like Transformers with super robot elements mixed in, there are eight Brave series made in total before its cancellation.
I’m almost definitely in the minority, but I think the Braves series should have ended with the 7th one. GaoGaiGar is alright but Dagwon was just on a whole other level as far as story and characters go. It was very mature and had a nice hidden message about growing up. Not to mention GaoGaiGar is a Brave series in name only to me. It’s too different from the others and breaks too many traditions. GaoGaiGar is a good enough show on its own but to me, the Brave Saga ended with Dagwon.
@@KingCasual1986 To be fair GaoGaiGar was never meant to be the "ending" of the Brave series, it just ended up performing too poorly for the franchise to continue. And that's really no fault of its own, it started airing two months before another far bigger show kinda changed the game forever, Pocket Monsters.
The greatest anime of this season for me is simply Gushing over Magical Girls. From just the first episode of it, I knew that this would be the anime of this season. I don't know how you can not appreciate this kind of masterpiece, Gigguk.
It's kind of an extreme niche it has going on. You can be turned off that show by a gazillion different things so only the very specific venn diagram of interests will follow it. It is very good at what it devotes itself to do, at the expense of *everything else*. Kinda like the Onimai anime, but for a slightly different audience.
omg, I had the exact same reaction in Tales of wedding rings when he said "as a friend". I'm pretty sure I screamed at the TV and threw something against a wall.
the one thing i will never forget from delicious in dungeon is that the dragon used tongue clicking to create a spark in order to ignite its flame breath.
I'm still waiting for them to ditch their uniforms. Bro went to another world, married the princess, became a ring king and still running around in his school uniform. SHE GOT MARRIED IN HER SCHOOL UNIFORM. Do they not have other clothes?😂
I feel like this is the first time I’ve seen any big name in the anime community mention spirit circle and I love to see it. It’s one of my favorite manga for sure but it doesn’t get nearly as much attention as I feel like it deserves.
I'm honestly glad that Bang Braven got another chance from you. I watched your preview video and you had said 'skip' but like everyone else I was blown away when my modern real robot show suddenly said 'sit down, shut up, we're doing 80s style mecha courage and you're gonna like it!'
Ay man, episode 2 they actually confess for Tales of Wedding Rings so actually it's pretty good. And the girls are hot, there's a muscle mommy tan cat girl aka Ghislaine 2.0.
It's bucchigiri for me, it's incredibly unique in every aspect and while the mc can be annoying at times for some people, it's still really fun and entertaining overall. I think it has a lot of potential. Oh and another thing spoilers are non existent as it's a anime original so that's a plus too. I was heart broken when I asked garnt what are his thoughts on him so far and he replied "it's aight", I hope he atleast gets to episode 3 cause from ep 3 and on it really starts to get interesting.
These round-ups are always the highlight of the season! In fact these are so funny at times, to this day I find myself laughing out loud when I occasionally remember the Nagatoro "Let's F@cking Gooooooooo!!" bit.

It's being more sane and grounded than sololevelling
@@HolyRamanRajyaanything is more grounded than the concept that pushups and running 10kms a day is all you need for an overall fit, lean body while also somehow turning your personality into an edgelord
@@HolyRamanRajyaDefinitely. Solo Leveling seems more for the people who wants epic battles.
The undead adventurer is for people wondering how the main character will try to handle his curse next.

Weakest tamer is such an underrated gem, definitely my favorite for winter 2024, I wish you’d included it in this vid
I honestly liked Bravern's BL more than Cherry Magic. The story and characters are more dynamic and everything just feels more alive and insanely fun. The omission of the bl tag means the story isn't plagued by *those* kinds of tropes that hold back the genre, and the animation is also high quality and consistent, whereas its what made me drop CM because I couldn't stand it 😭
I can see why this is so popular in Japan, but its kinda weird that it hasn't caught on in the west.
Missed opportunity to shout out Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss, But I'm Not the Demon Lord. Sure, it's yet another villainess isekai, but the twist is that our protagonist is a power-gaming, murderhobo little munchkin.
Light novel for the anime is nice as well
Probably my top of the season, if it wasn't for Bravern. This show does NOT disappoint. The girl is so dry, I love it.
OP KUUDERE WAIFU

And she doesnt even try to hide her strength...busts out the Blackhole Flex in episode 2 lol
Yeah fr. I picked up the manga too and it's really nice.
It is kinda hard to watch. Itsuomi just feels like an NTR bad guy inserted into the role of a male lead here. He's straightforward, but in a creepy rather than earnest way.

Great video as always. Making finding out about this seasons anime fun.
The Witch and the Beast is a glaring omission! Duo of agents for a magic organization investigating cases of witches. Searching for the one who cursed one of them. Banger of the season

Banger opening, banger story, it has gore and good detective cases, this is the gem I am gonna take this season
I wasn’t totally expecting to get hooked into Utena’s shenanigans with her magical girls (especially the heavy bdsm elements) but somehow it was latched onto me
Fr I've watched the 3 first ep and then read every scan available the same night
I'm fully caught up with the manga. It's honestly surprisingly good and the comedy just hits for some reason (especially in the manga). Also ,for how "weird" it is, it's surprisingly wholesome at times.
because you are a man of culture that's why lol
Some people watch that show because they are degen weebs. Some people, stay because Utena is an entertaining nut case degen and that is a rarity for those kinds of shows.
I knew what I was getting into, since i read the manga, and the show still surprised me.
Its glorious, to the point where talking about it on the Magical Girls subreddit is BANNED lmao

I have been thinking the same exact thing for the last 2 months

you guys are missing out on Villainess Level 99 and The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil! Both had weak first episodes but the story picked up right after, I recommend giving them both 3 episodes at least.
Doctor Elise and Strongest Tank have also been pretty good
Agreed on the first 3. I dropped Strongest Tank on e3 cuz it seemed pretty generic (Tho I may pick it up again because I heard there was twincest kissing 😏)
Weakest Tamer is easily the most slept on anime of the season though fr

@@jakexx2 it spent too much of the episode on generic visual novel characters. I like the idea but they dragged it out too much
The redline ost in the beginning brought a blast of nostalgia thank you grant
I've been surprisingly drawn in by 7th time loop. I think the hook for it is that the villain/love interest, the prince is a genuinely terrifying presence at times. His introduction in the first episode does a fantastic job of establishing him as a threat. I think it's mostly the eyes, but his character design was very well done. A part of me hopes they'll surprise me and have him wind up as the ruthless tyrant he was in every previous life.
No mention of Fluffy Paradise , 'Tis Time for "Torture", Princess', or Weakest Tamer? Then again I do feel the best shows this season are the continuations of Apothecary Diaries and Frieren.
fluffy paradise is my favourite to start this season

I've been a fan of A Sign of Affection manga, and I'm so delighted that it's getting an anime adaptation. 7th time loop may actually be the most interesting anime of the season. Exited to see where it leads to.
I did not expect it to be my anime of the season but so far its my favorite. I'm not even big on romance animes, its just really interesting and well written and she combat rolled her way into my heart somehow.
It's another show where, almost perfect girl does everything almost perfectly.
Its the best! I was also not expecting for the anime to pop off. Now its one of my favorite underrated anime.
Gigguk never change your openings. They are forever ingrained into my mind
