Jaxen Pearson in the fourth round is pretty disrespectful. I think he’s pretty easily a top 10-20 player, and seeing guys like Kolm, Dan, Irwin, Chadwick, Russell, etc. go before him was crazy when I think he should been taken in the early to mid second round.
This has been the most common feedback so far
Pearson will be the top arm for the Wildcats next season unless they draft a really good pitcher
@@davidstephenson416I think Kyle said that’s the plan, draft a pitcher first then a batter third. Personally I’d like to see them trade the third pick for a veteran to add to the squad
The bias toward grant miller is crazy he was good maybe great but I would have taken someone like Kyle Shultz or maybe TC3 because that was just his 1st year and they’ve been so consistent for so long at the plate. And both maybe stingy on the mound but if it came to the final game I think Kyle would get the job done. They’ve been in this league since the beginning and are both top 3 veterans in the league.
@@ReidWashburn ok but Grant also has potential to be the best bat in the league and with a redraft, potential is super important. It’s not all about how good they are at the moment of the draft, but also how much potential they have
That was a fun watch! For me;
Biggest reach - Landon at #15, and Preston at #18 ..... Like you said, Tom what are you doing xD. Both are good young players but I would've taken them around 22-25, seeing some of the names that were drafted after them.
Biggest steal - Jaxen at #27. I think he's shown himself as a great number-2 and a good bat, would've taken him around 15-16. As well as Sean Flynn in the 4th round, that's a steal for how often he gets on base.
Landon at 15 isn’t as much of a reach as you think it is, when he came back he was an elite power hitter this season when he played. Great bat for the Eagles
Let’s get a single elimination tournament with these rosters. Settle this once and for all!
This would be so fun
I would love to see an off season tournament using these mock draft teams. I think it would be a fun event to spice up the off season with something different.
That sounds like a great idea. Do it like every 2 years or something. But have every single player in the league do their own mock drafts and then pick teams based off of those averages
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the hacking incident. When Kyle is on I feel like us as fans need a more in-depth POV of what happened
Agreed
Did they get hacked again?
@@Jaydenwhitlock924Yep, in two weeks, the main channel got hacked in the same way again.
Yes
This was recorded weeks in advance
Old man Tom is closing in on retirement with these picks
😬😬
I got JP in my top 10…….
gonna be honest, i think jack absolutely demolished tommy in this draft for the most part:
1) Magic (Jack)
2) Wildcats (Jack)
3) Cobras (Jack)
4) Gators (Tommy)
5) D-Backs (Tommy)
6) Mallards (Tommy)
7) Predators (Jack)
8) Eagles (Tommy)
Gators got bailed out by getting a MASSIVELY underdrafted Jaxen Pearson. Jack's only miss was on the Preds team, huge reaches on Jonah Heath and Caden Irwin, otherwise those Magic and Wildcats teams are just nails
We need a pod with the brothers about the hack and how they are going to either get the channel back or restart it
Dan in the 2nd round is interesting to me. To me, he's the most volatile player in MLW. He seems like the prototypical guy who is uber talented but just tries to do a little too much, and that maybe focuses a little too much on style over substance or functionality. At the plate and on the mound, his mechanics are just wild and all over the place. I feel like he'd really benefit from simplifying things. At the plate, stand up a little straighter, have less movement in your stance, and be a little shorter to the ball in your swing. On the mound, try to find good repeatable mechanics that let you find the zone consistently as your base, and then build off that if you want to start finding different arm angles and pitches to throw in there.
This would be a cool alternate timeline league. The re-draft was a fun idea for the podcast.
jack is king he’s perfect on the mic, so smooth.
In terms of pure competitive fire, the Magic are there. No one else is even close.
Sean Flynn steal of the draft 😮
100% in my opinion he is the most underated player in MLW and is a top 20 player
THEY NEED TO RELEASE A VIDEO GAME SO I CAN DO THIS
Two Brendan’s & a Brennan on the Eagles is funny
Another Tuesday, another pod. Looking forward to this one 👏
MLW Expansion Fantasy Draft
Yes please!
Behen going 20 is kind of wild
You guys should have an exhibition series with some of these teams just for fun!
I know you guys liked the Wildcats, but if Daniel struggles again I don't think there is alot of offense outside of Kracht. Magic and D-Backs are definitely the most likely to be consistently good. If you get the best version of the Magic players then you have the greatest team ever assembled.
Yeah Dan in the second I thought was a stretch.
Not saying it isn't deserved but McGlade being a number 2 pitcher this year and going undrafted is insane.
I think Sean Flynn really figured something out last season and is massively slept on here. Here's some interesting stats about Sean that may indicate he's actually better when he's putting the ball in play less (note that for the sake of simplicity I'm counting HRs as balls in play, even if that isn't technically correct):
In his first year in 2019 he had a K and BB% of 38% each, and only put the ball in play 23% of the time. Despite this, he hit 8 HRs on the season and had a 1.294 OPS, by far the best of his career.
Between 2020-2022 he had a combined 44 K%, 27 BB%, and put the ball in play 29% of the time. However, he only hit 3 home runs in these seasons combined and only produced an OPS of .733 across 186 PAs.
In 2023 his approach changed completely from the 3 previous seasons. His K rate dropped to 39%, his walk rate bumped up to 45%, and he only put balls in play 16% of the time. Despite only having 9 balls in play all season, 6 of those were hits and 3 of them went for home runs, matching his total over the three previous seasons. His OPS bumped back up to 1.045 which was 5th in the league amongst players with at least 50 PAs.
So my advice to Flynn heading into next season would be to really focus on being as selective as possible at the plate. His K rate is pretty steady around 40%, but if he can keep his walk rate up there around the same number while punishing pitchers when they make mistakes, he can be a top 5-7 bat in this league.
Its when his walk rate drops below 30% that he starts to get into trouble. Balls in play aren't as valuable for him as they are for most people in this league, due to him being left handed and those hits are easier to turn into outs.
This is a cool analysis!
@@pipeitupmlw Thanks haha. I’ve got too much time on my hands lol
I was yelling Saylor at my screen for so long, Magic are going undefeated change my mind
😂😂
What if the Eagles traded Trey Flood and Drew Davis to the Cobras for Brendan Baranoski and Brendan Szerlag. That would be the most ELITE squad of Bren(d/n)an's.
It would be cool to see these teams be the teams for spring training which is probably not possible with the travel of some of these players but it would be cool to see it all in one spring training video (yes I know this was for fun)
good content, d-backs had (4) players drafted (knorp - 3, flood - 8, heath - 10, pyszka - 11) before the first cobra was drafted (baronoski - 12)
This is the best draft the Magic have had since *checks notes* last draft
😂😂
I would not bet against this version of the Magic.
Hello I am a 13 year old kid and I have my own wiffle ball league. For a school project I was wondering is I could interview Kyle Schulz's or one of the guys. I have been a big fan for years and I have been watching the pods a lot in the past couple weeks. but if you guys don't want to I understand
Finally, Swagner Aigner got it right lol!
Yo what’s going on with the channel!!!!!!!!!
He got it Let’s go Jack
Will you guys ever have expansion teams? Has it been discussed?
Magic just might 3 peat, good lovin' that team is stacked.
Wildcats without question.
This was a great idea! I think the Magic ended up being the best team. Trade idea! Baranoski and Szerlag to the Eagles for Flood and Drew. Eagles would be Brendan, Brennan, Brendan, Brendan & Brendan.
The Brendans would be unstoppable
Jordan Robles is top-2
Day 3 of asking to bring in draft picks for this year on the pod 💯
I think the mock draft Magic has the best power to pitching ratio. Jimmy, Nick, and Chris are all big power hitters that each have different pitching styles that work well. I could see each of them pitching a game. Making contact at the plate will be the important deciding factor for that team, but I like the depth that is there as well.
D-Backs are probably the best contact hitting team with some good power. They will be the most consistent at the plate.
I think the Cobras have the best duo with Baran and Grant. Both of them are lethal in their roles. And I don’t sleep on Baran at the plate. He doesn’t get any credit but he hits a lot of hard ground balls, which in wiffle ball can get you on base. And then Grant can do it all.
The Wildcats have Ryan Kracht. Enough said. Bonham is a strong pick there is well.
The Gators and Preds will be competitive.
The two worst teams are the Mallards and Eagles
Week 1 Brennan Russell is the easy 1st overall pick
49:57 I was wondering where any was
Yo whats going on with the mlw channel keep getting hacked
I am thinking the same thing
I like the Magic ngl, Wildcats first tho.
D backs also
I think eagles and magic would be the two best here, preds would be fun to watch lots of offense don’t think enough pitching but lots of shootouts, too many number 2’s not a 1
simply cannot believe that my favorite player (drew allen davis) didn’t go first overall
Mock Re-draft tourney at the end of the season???
1. D-Backs 2. Wildcats 3. Magic
Rudy would have perfected the eagles I the 5th round
I’m really struggling to understand the dislike toward Drew Davis.
The man has been the face of his franchise for many years and has led them to 2 AL pennants. Why would you choose a rookie to captain the team instead of him?
TC3 is a top 8 player in the league don’t know why he went so late
You guys should redraft some of the past drafts next
Sean Flynn should be 5th round last pick. I have never seen an instance where Flynn out performs any player in the league. The kid is just a space filler if I’m being honest. He can get on base but so can guys in wheelchairs if you gave them a shot. Just a waste of a roster space. Just my thoughts, feel free to agree with me. #GetFlynnOutOfHere
You guys are really sleeping on this gators squad in this mock redraft
Jaxen was a steal
CATS
COBRAS
D-BACKS
MAGIC
GATORS
PREDS
MALLARDS
EAGLES
Those are the teams of all tome
Was Tommy Drunk?
I just gotta say Jack's continuous use of "could have went" instead of "could have gone" killed me
dbacks vs magic
Allen over knorp Robles and even grant Miller is disgusting
Why do you think that?
@@pipeitupmlw i think there all better overall players and have much more hitting potential cause they have actual power
