thank you for your video, I'm the winchman aircrew on this helicopter. I keep a good remember about this medical evacuation. It's rare to operate on a big cruise ship and all the aircrew are plaisantly surprised to see people applaud.

It's quite impressive to see a NH90 flying. It has an availability ration under 40% and requires close to 30h worktime per flight hour, so it does not happen quite often!

So all the hoist work I’ve done the flight mech/crew chief would have aborted this hoist no doubt. Some moron had the trail line pulling it with 50lbs force and had the litter vertical. This is something we just don’t do unless we are carrying them up stairs. One it’s traumatizing to people not adapted to heights. But it’s simply unsafe. The purpose of the trail line is to stop spins and offset hoist work. But this looks like two things. Either #1 a total goof ball is on the trail line. Or #2 a total a** hole is pulling it so the head of the litter will clear the bottom of the aircraft. But it’s un called for the flight mech or hoist operator should be able to get them clear of the aircraft without risking dumping them out.
