We purchased 2 of these 992Gs to replace our , getting older 993Cs . For my money I prefer the C .
The first time I saw that single arm set up,I knew potential trouble was there. Sure enough after only 500.hours on a.machine we purchased new from Whayne supply. A guy tor out the entire pin ,race bearing assembly at the bucket arm attached area. We fixed it in our own shops. We added an extra 1 1/4 " plating to the bottom 5 feet of arm , and line bored it out. We actually we t ahead and done both this way. Never had any trouble from that area again.

Why does CAT have so many models that are the nearly the same size? 990, 992, 993, and 994. I mean physical dimensions the 993 and 994 are nearly the same size. 992 Is very close to the 990. CAT might be better off only having the 988 and 994 in their line up of large loaders, and perfect them, instead of having so many loaders which is confusing. The same job can be done by both the 993 and 994.
