Mohamed pbuh is the example of how we are to worship Allah, as the Quran says in 68:4, and 33:21. Thus, if this is how he arranged prayers, who are we to change it, when Allah is telling us that Mohamed is the example?
The answer is so that the men will be able to focus on their salah and not be distracted by the beauty of the woman. Like the example he gave of the beautiful woman praying behind the men. Also we follow the practice of the Prophet Sal how things were done back then.
We can't do something that prophete mohamed and his companions didn't do, it is an innovation if we do. It is sad that sometimes, our imams trying to please the non-muslims by not giving straight answers to some questions. Islam is a religion and it advocates peace, tolerance, equality amongst genders and human beings. In Islam, I believe men and women are equivalent and both have rights and duties; thinking that men and women are equal is pure hypocrisy. There is no such thing inferiority or superiority between men and women but equivalence. Muslims foukahah ( scholars) should tell what is Islam and not try to fit in in anywhere; Islam is already complete. jazaakum alfikher.
It is wholly illogical that men and women are both "equivalent" but not "equal". If you're saying that Islam is this way rather than a culture, then beware that you are opening the religion up to being imperfect. That's on you.

So many people and mosques believe this is a law and set in stone. That women must be only behind men or on a separate floor which is ridiculous. I’m happy with side by side!
It's not from the sunnah, they believe their foreheads should touch the earth itself, when the sunnah makes it easier not to do that. I suggest you don't follow what they do.
Why do muslim care so much about all this peripheral things? The only thing that should matter is spirituality and the personal connection to God. How does it matter if a person is praying in front of someone or behind?
Brother imagine a woman is praying in front of you she bows down she kneels down ( to God ) do you know how some man will react upon this? They will forget the prayer and they will stare at the woman looking with sexually interest, this is dangerous brother
This is why I’m thinking about leaving Islam, it seems like everything has to be sacrificed for a mans comfort as if he has some type of power over a woman. I don’t like this
Don't leave sister..the only power is ALLAH. Yet, Quran tells us most people don't believe, hate the truth and are not thankful. Study Quran more and ask Allah to show you the way..shaytan wants to trick you.
Respecting human nature isn't about a man's comfort. It is about protecting everyone from situations that lead to temptation and potentionally disasterous consequences. Any traditional religion will have some practices in place that do this. This is also practiced in the business world for example having two people sign checks.
Yes can do, woman has to stand behind, one,two three doesn’t matter, but when a man leads salaah a man, he should stand beside but not same line position a bit down from the imam or who leads the salaah. Jajakallah
You need to visit the Imam of the local mosque in your area who would thoroughly guide you. Basically you need to take the shahada which is proclaiming or acknowledging that there is no god but allah and prophet muhammad is the messenger of allah.
I'm not sure If i agree with Dr Shabir Ally's stand here, I think if it can be done otherwise, prophet would have done it. For example just because it doesn't say anywhere in the Qur'an women shouldn't hit the men, it doesn't mean they can. We cannot change the standards just to please the society or people.
@Kam Skylight Muhammad hurt Aisha, and he laughed when Aisha and Hafsa were punched by their fathers in front of him. The Quran also tells men to hit their wives if they suspect any bad feeling in their wives. The same word for "hit" is used that is used for striking the neck and fingers off disbelievers.
@@toomanymarys7355 The Arabic word Dharaba doesn't mean to beat. Besides, Quran doesn't explicitly say to beat them senselessly like you people think and on the top of that, it is at the final resort. You think like that because you just need a reason to reject Islam. since your bible filled with brutality and violence not just against women, Infants, babies even animals are not left.
@@dreamdream963 so the standard is only not to beat senselessly? Why not 'don't beat at all'? Anyway, Old Testament is there to show the People of the Book as they were before. The New Testament allows no such thing and no violence of any kind, whether between man and wife, nor man against man. You would however have to read the New Testament to understand why it supersedes the Old Testament - and centrally, it's because Jesus says so. Jesus said, if a man beats your cheek, you turn the other way and offer up your other cheek. It is about tolerance, never reacting in anger. Ephesians 5:25-29 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. For a true Christian the "church" is both an equivalence to the ummah (in Islam), and a physical manifestation of faith itself. It is commanded to love and be tender with your one wife. All other verses in the NT all talk about spouses caring for one another, loving each other - although, yes, wives are supposed to obey their husbands. There are no verses on ever raising a hand toward her. There is no room to interpret that violence against your wife is at all permissible. So not sure where you get off thinking that violence (especially between spouses) is permissible under the Bible. Sorry I felt I needed to set that straight, no hatred toward you - but misconception about the Christian faith should not be a fuel for anyone validating their own Islamic faith.

He never hit anything with his hand, except for when he was fighting Jihad in the cause of Allah Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: "I went to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and asked him: What do you say (command) about our wives? He replied: Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them. (Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2139)" I can quote more authetic ahadith and how companinons of Prophet(peace_be_upon_him) interpret that verse all said the same thing do not beat your wives. Coming to your Bible, offer the other cheek this has nothing to do wtih the married couple, its a general statement. What i said was 'misconception'? let's see. Your Bible specifically cruel to women from the very beginning, For example Eve, because of Eve, now all women are suffering in child bearing. Deut 22 if the woman proven not to be virgin, one must kill her. Psalsm 137 Dashed the babies against the rock. 1Sameul 3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys. Now, i know what you gonna say this is all in old testament, not in the NT, but dude this is your God who wants to dash babies, even animals, what kind of God is He? You worship that God who at least once commanded to dash infants against the rock. Regardless whether its NT OR OT your God still the same. Now coming to Jesus, Your Jesus called Gentile Woman a dog. Paul used to believe that man who remained unmarried is more purer than one who was defiled by a woman or in other words got married. Even in the Revelation 14:4 you can find the same quote. Your Bible is degrading women from the Eve itself, i could go on like this, but this comment is already huge. ROFL!

The whole meaning is to obey Allah, no questions ask, Allah is the One who will question us. Example;:
Dont dig in to the consequences of eating pork ie, germs on the pork cant be killed by cooking and blah blah blah with other findings. Just take it like Allah"s command, dont eat pork because its unclean. No need to ask any further. Cause if you gonna come up with all kinds of science proven facts about how bad pork is, then, all those pork eaters would be dead by now or suffering from its disease.

Why? What doesn't make sense?
Mohamed pbuh is the example of how we are to worship Allah, as the Quran says in 68:4, and 33:21. Thus, if this is how he arranged prayers, who are we to change it, when Allah is telling us that Mohamed is the example?
He told us everything ..except the answer
The answer is so that the men will be able to focus on their salah and not be distracted by the beauty of the woman.
Like the example he gave of the beautiful woman praying behind the men.
Also we follow the practice of the Prophet Sal how things were done back then.

Praying behind men is Sunnah, but praying in a separate room is just something people invented after the death of the prophet, pbuh
That's on you.

actually praying in the back is more conveniant. The one who exist the mosque the first are those in the back. They can leave as quick as they want. If they have to suddenly leave, they dont need to cross trough a tiny pathway and having all eyes on them lol.
I don’t mean to be rude but I want ask dr shabir why do we have separate rest rooms for men and women?

So it’s essentially to not distract the boys…..
So we can’t pray in front of y’all cause y’all can’t control ur selves. U call ur selves muslim men, fully aware that allah commands you to lower your gaze and apparently it’s so hard for you to do that when it’s haram to think about ANYTHING else other than allah in prayer, and yet you’re still supposed to be somewhat of a leader.

So many people and mosques believe this is a law and set in stone. That women must be only behind men or on a separate floor which is ridiculous. I’m happy with side by side!
Even if I was of Christian faith I would not feel comfortable with men being behind me looking at my behind!
Just my opinion folks!
So can man and woman ( husband and wife ) can pray together
If you mean side by side. Yes.
Why we can't just pray abreast rather than in the back / front?
As Salaam Alaakum. The Prophet pbuh said Pray the way you see him Pray.

Even in their prayers men cannot maintain their focus and composure....probably the main reason.
Question from Philippines. Why Shia believers put clay soil in front of his place of sujude. What is the purpose or wisdom of this prayer methods?
It's not from the sunnah, they believe their foreheads should touch the earth itself, when the sunnah makes it easier not to do that. I suggest you don't follow what they do.
Dr shabir...... alhamdulillah
I see photos in different local mosques that have the women literally roped off in the back corner, like cows 🐄…. A very gross display
If Nothing like that never mentioned in the Quran then we should stick to the sunnah and forget about the possibilities. Allah knows best

@@yargi5811 why can't they control themselves

Can a man (non mahram) led a salah ,while a woman prays behind him? Can he led the salah? Is the ques clear?
Yes can do, woman has to stand behind, one,two three doesn’t matter, but when a man leads salaah a man, he should stand beside but not same line position a bit down from the imam or who leads the salaah. Jajakallah
Do you have to be re-baptized and speak in tongues is the Oneness group teaches to be joined to the Muslim religion?
You need to visit the Imam of the local mosque in your area who would thoroughly guide you. Basically you need to take the shahada which is proclaiming or acknowledging that there is no god but allah and prophet muhammad is the messenger of allah.
I do not think Dr ally give an historical reason of why
I'm not sure If i agree with Dr Shabir Ally's stand here, I think if it can be done otherwise, prophet would have done it. For example just because it doesn't say anywhere in the Qur'an women shouldn't hit the men, it doesn't mean they can. We cannot change the standards just to please the society or people.
It says that husbands should hit wives. Do you think that's necessary? Or do you think that's something that a corrupt man would want in a fake book?
@@blackdqen I don't know how to unpack this loaded comment.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not strike a servant or a woman, and he never struck anything with his hand.
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2328, Grade: Sahih do not beat them, and do not revile them.(Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2139
Aisha reported that Allah's Messenger, may Allah bless him, never beat anyone with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, but only, in the case when he had been fighting in the cause of Allah …” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 4296)
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, chapter 68:
Imam Ahmad recorded that `A’ishah said, “The Messenger of Allah never struck a servant of his with his hand, nor did he ever hit a woman. He never hit anything with his hand, except for when he was fighting Jihad in the cause of Allah
Narrated Mu'awiyah al-Qushayri: "I went to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and asked him: What do you say (command) about our wives? He replied: Give them food what you have for yourself, and clothe them by which you clothe yourself, and do not beat them, and do not revile them. (Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 11, Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Number 2139)"
I can quote more authetic ahadith and how companinons of Prophet(peace_be_upon_him) interpret that verse all said the same thing do not beat your wives.
ROFL!
