    It's finally here. Despite 90 degree temps, I couldn't not go, right? I chose to do a hang and hunt in a new spot, and it paid off.

    Let me know what you guys think of the FPV second angle camera! I think it's kind of a cool perspective, shows a little more of what goes into these hunts. Thanks for watching and good luck!!

      Definitely shows more of the hunt Jared. Maybe try it with split screen when u plan on shooting a deer with both angles then full screen on the target after u draw back. Just a suggestion n great video

      I like it, I like the fact that it gives you a back up if you can't get the camera just right for the shot. At least you can still catch the shot no matter what.

    I don’t even watch MidWest whitetail anymore, just not the same without you! I love the way you fly solo these days. I’m sure a lot of us can relate. I’ve hunted the Midwest since 2004 and I have had some amazing pieces to hunt on, but simply can’t keep up with the bidding war out there these days. I’m gonna miss it like crazy. Good luck this season!

    Great start to the season Jared, congrats! Can you maybe do something to cover what you do with the deer once you leave the woods and if you're skinning them, quartering them out, hanging them, putting ice in their cavity and doing the next day, etc.? Specifically in that hot weather. Or do you have a walk in freezer you're able to hang in? Always curious how other people do it, especially you guys that have the opportunity of tagging so many deer. Thanks, Chris.

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  Год назад

      For sure, that's a good idea. I'll try to remember to cover that in a future video. With these ones, I got them skinned and quartered up and on ice when I got home. The weather usually dictates what I do but more often than not, I try to get them taken care and out of the way as soon as I can.

    How come you have your own land and you put in the time for food plots and opened up area to attract deer but you don't have stands for these areas? I get hang and hunts to catch a deer from bedding to feeding or chasing doe's. Just wondering why make more work every time you gotta hunt.

    • @jaredmills
      @jaredmills  Год назад +2

      Good question. Couple things. First, this hunt was on a permission piece, not the property I own. And I do have some pre-hung sets on the properties I hunt, just not enough to be able to hunt every location on every wind. That would take a lot of money invested in tree stands to do that. I find it easier to just do hang and hunts. The other reason is that I simply don't hunt the same areas year after year, so if I did hang a bunch of sets, most would not get used each year. This is mainly due to targeting specific bucks, and they often live and use different areas than previous targets. Hope that makes sense, thanks for watching.
