That’s very cool! It would kind of have that Honda pioneer look. I am just about to find out if Yamaha rhino CV axles fit these things. So far everything I’ve tried from the rhino has been a match. Front axles are over $100 each for the Hisun OEM. Aftermarket axles for the rhino 660 or as cheap as $51 each. So far everything has matched up on paper, it’ll just take me a day or two for it to come in so I can try to install it.
@@micro-pigoffroadclub8387 Hopefully you'll post a video on that. There is just nothing on the web for these things. I've had zero issues and I've owned it since new.
I have a 2015 Massimo 700 MSU and I went to Yamaha and got a new Drive belt for a rhino. It works perfect on mine . Little more pricey on the belt but I figured probably a better quality.
I’m willing to bet a buffalo head nickel that rhino 660 portals will fit. If you could just get one next to the Massimo to compare a few things, just in case. I was happy to see the front CV axles fit.
Thanks for the video. I'm on the fence about purchasing a 700 Massimo 2018 model. Do you still have this unit & if so how has it held up for you, any repairs that have been needed? I would much appreciate the mentioning if repairs have happened with your machine.
I still have it and use it regularly. I had to replace a battery, clutch (dry ), belt and tires. The only issue I had was a corroded fuel pump harness plug. An easy fix. Still runs great!
They are probably the most exact cloned sxs ever built. Just about everything from a Yamaha Rhino will bolt on to these but the materials the Hisun/Benche use compared to what Yamaha uses not in the same world. There is a reason why they are much cheaper to buy than the Yamaha. Also the gearing inside the transmission is taller which if anything they should have designed them to be lower for more bottom end power less stress on the drive trail. All the rubber parts are cheap and will fail in a year or two where as Yamaha rubber could sit out in the sun for 10 years and be fine. So you can upgrade these some what with OEM Yami parts to help outvwith yhe reliability issues. In my opinion it is not worth the hastle plus these Clones are worth much less when you go to sell so there’s no real savings at the end of the day. However, if you find one cheap like I did then I say go for it. Mine was almost free lol but needs lots of work. I upgraded to an oversized larger radiator.billet fuel line assembly on top of the fuel tank, all new fuel lines, filter, and many other things. Parts are really cheap if you buy aftermarket but certain things like drive shafts,u joints etc are better to buy from Yamaha. The rear differetial brace is a nice upgrade to keep it from braking but that is an aftermarket part. As for ball joints, OEM Yamaha will work but their old ball joints made by TMK were apparently better and you can buy those from Honda. ( i forget what model). So with enough upgrades these “might” hold together lol
Thanks for taking the time to share so much information! I’ve been lucky I suppose with mine. Broken rear parking brake, had a plug for my fuel pump deteriorate and fail, lots of wheel bearing replacements, just replaced steering rack, tie rods! Exhaust cone gaskets often, tires lol, drive belt, clutch sheave…. Probably some other small stuff. Oh… CV axle. But always ran great!! Mine is a 2014
@@micro-pigoffroadclub8387 right on keeping it alive to fight another day! Lol I’m ok with all that stuff wearing out I just hope I don’t have a transmision shaft fail or something that’ll leave me stranded. I figure if I throw enough upgraded parts at mine it might survive. Mine is the two seater. I know even the Early 660!Rhino’s broke down so I try to upgrade to the better oem or aftermarkt parts when possible. Honda Part number 51355-HP5-601 is for the OEM style ball joints Rhino’s used to come with and they are said to be very durable so not sure if Yamaha changed the ball joint brand because Honda had exclusive rights or what but they used to be 14 vs 36 for oem Yamaha ball joints. One other area I would never use aftermarket is the U-joints on the drive shaft. If tried them and they never seem to last. Yamaha more expensive but more durable.
@@micro-pigoffroadclub8387 and did you buy yours new? How many miles? I have some shims/washers to space the clutch apart for lower gearing plus slugs for the wet clutch which was a huge upgrade for the Rhino’s. Your video is the first confirmation that I have seen that the Hisuns are Yamaha clones. I was told that by the dealer I bought my Massimo 700 from, but he was a little vague and cagey about it. The lift kit you used may support that claim, but before I'm convinced, someone will have to show me a Yamaha transmission, differentials, clutch, engine head or CV axles that bolt right up. That would really give me the confidence I need to go right to my local Yamaha dealer for parts. I appreciate your demonstration on the lift kit, but that looks a little too universal to convince me. Is there anything else since you produced this video that confirms the clone claim?
Unfortunately, not enough has broken to try Yamaha OEM replacements. So far my only replaced parts have included all 4 (8) wheel bearings and seals, drive belt, lift, rear wheel spacers... all OEM Rhino parts. I agree with you that more research and "proof" is needed prior to ordering parts as there could easily be a few mils difference here and there. This thing has been extremely durable, but i will post up any future replacements that are Rhino Spec. I used to work at a dealership years ago, but i will say that when i worked on this thing's CVT and valve adjustment's, it all "looked" exactly like Yamaha castings.
That’s good stuff! I’m more than happy to talk about it LOL. The only thing I can say is that I took it completely off. Can’t really tell anyway with the way it rides.
I just put this kit on, and I see why the sway bar was deleted. The bolt is too short to re attach it. Took a test drive and it seems to have a bit more body roll. Not sure if it's because of the addition of the 2" lift or the missing sway bar. Will do more testing. May buy longer bolts.
steve truman I have had absolutely no problems out of this thing. I haven't had to replace much but so far everything I have ordered for a rhino fits. I just did the front wheel bearings and seals and ordered Rhino 660 titled kits from eBay. The drive belt is also the same. The lift has actually held up very well. The only thing I have noticed is something that would be the same for a Yamaha Rhino so maybe not relevant. This aluminum CNC machined lift wears just a little tiny bit where the steel tabs fit into the Machining near the shock mounts up front. Fortunately it hasn't caused any adverse effects but I can see a little bit of black on the aluminum where it is rubbing. Like I said, probably not even worth mentioning.
