the plot twist at the end explaining the "fuck John Stamos" at the beginning LMAO absolute cinema! so happy for your new era, Matt! I've been here since 2019 and you've helped me in ways you would never imagine!
I love how cozy and geniune this channel is! Never in a million years would I have commented on any youtube videos, but seeing Matt here in his element is just 🥺
glad I found your RUclips channel your videos led me through some of my darkest times, watching you again after having some stability gives me the feeling of .. warmness
Thanks for this side project thing you’re doing over here, Matt. It’s raw and genuine and needed. Once again, you’re crushing it by paving a new way to reinvent yourself. Kudos and can’t wait to see what’s next!
I remember in your main channel when you where small, you had your podcast alongside your videos, and also all your videos where without any sponsors and ads, because you didn't worry about that at all, and patreon was enough for you. This one feels like the same "new" beginning. I love the vibe, and I'm sure you do too!
Oh wow I remember when Matt explain at the beginning of videos why this is an ad-free channel, I thought it was really cool and even tried to copy him in my own videos, but now ads are completely out of my control and are there even if I'm not monetized :P Anyway it was fun remembering this whole phase!
I came here from the newsletter and I have to say it feels good to have this little space, I've been struggling witj my life recently and withs piece of video I don't feel like I'm the only one dealing with things, thanks for open your heart with us and I wish you nothing but the best! Greetings from Mexico City
I love this Matt, could relate soooo much to this. I've been going through my own version of this for the last 2 years. glad to have spent some time together in Paris with Nat and Nathaniel !!!
Great video Matt! This might be weird to say coming from someone you don’t know personally, but I’m proud of you. (We are fellow Matts though, that should count for something.) Anyway, you said something about your transition in the video I’d really appreciate you taking a longer think on. Something to the effect of you don’t think other people allow themselves to reset like this. But that really isn’t true. Many, many people have changed paths when the one they were on wasn’t working (or worse, got taken away from them). I hope this video and your work continues to inspire changes like this, as it well can! But I also think about and write a lot about how people are affected by their online models. And I know you know this: you’re one of them. And when you suggest that this is unique, there’s inspiration but there’s also something else, more insidious and difficult to grasp - in large part because it’s difficult to quantify - and that’s that people feel down. They feel more intimately their inability to make the move you did, and feel more desperate to at the same time. If that impacts your worldview by even 1%, I’ll have done something important I think. Anyway, again, well done and well deserved. Thanks, as always, for the honesty. Excited to see where you head with this project!
Matt I love the energy on this channel. It really does feel like I’m watching you grow and develop over the years. Thats what keeps me watching. I’ve never been more excited to check out your new stuff!
Hi Matt! I'm stoked to find your 2nd channel through your email. Thank you for this! Embrace WABI SABI Matt. It's the loveliest concept in the world! Perfectly imperfect things are the most memorable and beautiful things!
As a guy who dabbles in endless hobbies, many on the building/fixing things front, the only person who notices your mistakes, is you. The hardest thing to do when you show someone what you’ve made, is for the first thing to say is “yea I’m really happy with this BUT IF YOU LOOK RIIIIIGGGGHHHTTT THERE, you can see where I messed up”. Find the joy in your work like others will, only the craftsman sees the flaws.
Man, I appreciate your content so much. Your discussions on the tough decisions you’ve made regarding your switch back to solo produced work instead of running a whole team have been refreshing to hear in a world that so often promotes hustle above all else. My professional journey has been unique and having your content as a reminder that I’m not the only weird one out here building a career on my own terms is a true breath of fresh air.
I love that this is totally genuine, that sometimes money can be a great incentive but when that turns out to be the goal , it can corrupt our way to express ourselves.
Matt, I’ve said this to you via email, community, and all sorts of other places: we fucking support you and we’re always learning from you in one way or another. Keep doing you, wishing you the best
Looking at the imperfections in the things you've created are the memories and stories of the "right now." Look at the with awe, knowing that the exciting journey continues.
omg…this is exactly what I’ve been doing in my little 10x10 space for a few years now. I never worked from home before 2020 but our utility room has slowly turned into more of an office and “set” ever since then. Embracing the finitude and imperfection has been my constant mantra, plus it’s cheaper than therapy. Also, as a father of three little people, Frankie will thank you one day for having a playmate. 😁
I love that desk setup! I might actually need to do something similar for my next desk setup, because I want a space where you can also have a conversation with someone and this is great for that! Thank you for the inspiration!
I adore that you’re trying not to monetize a channel! Together with my husband we ran a small photonics business for years. It was the hardest and most blindingly stressful time of my life. Constant payroll worry and I always worried what if I didn’t have work for the employee with cancer or the one with five kids? In the end it was worth it because we sold it and now I can make art for the rest of my life (if I don’t live too long) - so maybe it was worth it? Maybe I can heal from the autoimmune disease I developed then? Maybe. You rock.
For future reference: You can lay flat the desktop (bottom side up) and screw only the attachment part of the leg to it, then screw in the leg to the attachment. Flip the table, and then attach to the Alex cabinet. I have a similar setup that I had to take apart twice when moving. (Yes, I know, I captured the essence of the video /s)
I've been pondering making videos for making videos sake (no ads, monetization or anything else needed). My thought process was maybe joining a Peertube instance and just doing that, simple. Most people won't like that answer though if they are already stuck on RUclips because that's where their audience is.
Like this channel! And you don't have to give up your office with a new baby: our kids still share, very happily, a bedroom. They are 4 and 9 years old. Our youngest slept in our bedroom until he was 1 year old and then he transferred to the kids room. And they love it! They love sharing a room and waking up together. Our bedtime ritual was like this: first the youngest to bed (nappy change, short story, milk) , then storytime for the oldest in our bedroom, then he went to his own bed. Yougest was already sleeping by then. And nowadays, it's pretty much the same: we do storytime together in our bedroom, for the youngest. Then he goes to his own bed and then we do storytime for the oldest, after which he goes to his own bed.
My understanding is that YT only plays ads when the channel is monetised or the video uses some copyright music or video content that belongs to another owner, in the latter case the ads are played and revenue goes to copyright fees. There's lots of small channels that I watch that never play ads, before, after nor in the middle.
: "Show us on the doll where John Stamos hurt you..." 😆🤣💀 That has to be the world's greatest pattern interrupt....ever! First video of yours I've ever seen and 13 seconds in....BAM! 🤣🤣🤣
That was an honest to goodness brilliant little video. It’s nice to really “hear” you. Also love how you’re purposefully sabotaging the ability for the vids on here to produce revenue. Bold move and I hope it’s successful 😂
I don't know if you'll ever see this but I feel like many of your lighting issues could be minimised (even if just a little, I'm not an expert) if you tried a lighter pain colour on at least one other wall to bounce light to the blue in your filming area more. I'm all for colour drenching but it seems (from what I've seen only) that you've gone for more *cave* than *cosy* . Just ideas. Here for wherever your journey takes you ✨
Love how your new office-filming-space is coming out. It has flavor and character! But, oh man, Matt! Try other keyboards, I beg you. Buy a decent mechanical keyboard (low profile if you like it) and get some happiness for your fingers :) For someone who uses keyboard a lot good keyboard is essential (and fun btw).
Saw the thumbnail and was like (for the sake of continuing themes of this video) "Why the fuck didn't RUclips show this in my subscriptions page?" New channel with a seemingly way different vibe? Tight!
Love it! I won't be surprised if this channel will be bigger than your original one 👍 and yeah, I plan to not monetize my new channel too as my annual income (day job) is way too big to be replaced by Yt money anyway.
Not having room, it’s so funny to hear stuff like this 😂 NOT in offense any way, but living in a trailer in the woods on our own property in the nordic 2,5 years with wife 11yo and a baby it just puts stuff in perspective. And btw happiest years of my life have been these past years ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 imo everyone should try this once in their lifetime! Great video as always, keep it up 💪🏽
Okaaay, we have a couple small huts here for the office etc but still, it’s been a rollercoaster ride I wouldn’t trade for anything 😂 soon moving out to the next door in our 12m2 new tinyhome, can’t wait 💫
"Management was never really my thing" hits home.

This channel is like your blank canvas for new creative ideas... I'm so excited to see what comes next. Totally HERE for this!
I love the new whimsical, chill Matt. Or rather, I’ve missed this original Matt lol
Matt is in his dark academia era
Please return with podcasts, that was one of your the best works
I feel like you are finding yourself again, relaxed and breezy, good to see it Matt.
Thanks for this side project thing you’re doing over here, Matt. It’s raw and genuine and needed. Once again, you’re crushing it by paving a new way to reinvent yourself. Kudos and can’t wait to see what’s next!
You still are the OG Matt!! Much Love Mate!! 👊👊

@@BarknoorZ yeah exactly
I'm digging Bonus D'Avella! (Matt Biceps is still awesome)
This is way better than the other channel, love to see a more human - less perfec version of your videos. I'm so glad you're back.
I think you are not prepared for how fast this channel is going to grow Matt, this is really great content by itself!
I really enjoyed your old stuff, and I'm loving this new era. Keep going Matt!
Love the energy Matt!
It’s great to see you in the mindset and space, Matt.

I love the authenticity you bring to this channel (and you already seemed so authentic and genuine on your OG channel). All the best for you!
I love this Matt, could relate soooo much to this. I've been going through my own version of this for the last 2 years. glad to have spent some time together in Paris with Nat and Nathaniel !!!
so grateful to have been on the team matt! 💕 bring on more woodworking haha!
I love these videos, they're so inspiring and fresh. Thanks for sharing these glimpses behind the scenes! ✨
I need the soundtrack of this video. Great song choice!
Came for Matt, stayed for the f-bombs
Proud of you dude. You're an inspiration to many of us!

haha! Looking forward to your new introductions. I can only imagine what’s in store.
I'm loving the new vibe and new channel, kind of going through something similar in my life. So, yeah, that's so nice to be inspired by you
Hi Matt! I'm stoked to find your 2nd channel through your email. Thank you for this! Embrace WABI SABI Matt. It's the loveliest concept in the world! Perfectly imperfect things are the most memorable and beautiful things!
Regardless of the changes, your cinematography is still top tier! I’m here for all of this! ❤
Love these videos lately, Matt.

I completely agree - even though I am still learning this lesson myself... ;-)

I love everything about this video!! I was wondering...what did John Stamos do to this guy?! LOL Kepp creating!
I love that this is totally genuine, that sometimes money can be a great incentive but when that turns out to be the goal , it can corrupt our way to express ourselves.
I'm waiting for the complete studio tour! 😅 Everyday I check if the video has been published yet 🙈
❤❤

Wow, What a great Video Matt, and very nice NEW PODCAST LOOK! Great Video, Keep Rocking Matt. Awesome 🔥🔥🔥
Theses videos are so much fun to watch.
Looking at the imperfections in the things you've created are the memories and stories of the "right now." Look at the with awe, knowing that the exciting journey continues.
I can't count the number of solid-core door desks we had to put together for artists at my last company as we grew. Perfection was never an option!

"Everything is temporary." This is a great realization for anyone to experience.
Sweary D'Avella why you gotta do me like that.....
Awesome to have you back man! Creative again at it's finest
I love this channel.
Really love the style of these video's!
I love that desk setup! I might actually need to do something similar for my next desk setup, because I want a space where you can also have a conversation with someone and this is great for that! Thank you for the inspiration!
This was wonderful.
Im happy you are happy again. ❤❤❤
Wabi Sabi my friend.

Did you just tease us the return of the Ground up Show? 👀
(And the relentless pursuit of The Rock as a guest? 👀👀)
i love when i recognise the epidemic sound in a video - been working on a video since May that uses this exact intro song ✌️
Ohhhh unhinged D'Avella is fun. Subscribe.
good to have you back Matt 💙
I am so glad that u have a nice wife and a kid.
Getting flashbacks to when I first started following your main channel on around 6000 subs!
The new channel is insanee. Mad Fun
I love this channel 🎉 I much prefer it (dare I say it) to the main channel …. Please keep it going!
Loving this channel.
The random stray at the beginning 😭
Eagerly awaiting a video that starts with “F… The Rock!”
…
We all know that’s never going to happen, right Matt?
I love my ikea desks, I hate trying to align that damn screw(s) to secure to the drawers. that struggle is real.
I already prefer this channel over your main one
You are so damn right
I adore that you’re trying not to monetize a channel!

It's a beautiful piece of work that you've made.

Wow, this is incredible.
Well I didn't see any ads so your plan worked! 😋

@@lynettejwhite I'm not even seeing the display ads on the right hand side above the shorts.
Matt love these videos, keep it going!!
came back to the beginning of the video to hear that curse word😂
Can you tell me the paint color of the wall? I love the moodiness
John Stamos has been hiccupping like crazy wondering what's going on. Just Matt casually swearing at him the whole video. 😂
i don't usually subscribe to photography channels but this one is different. please create more content

I think matt will start making carpeting video than info or Life style videos.
Bring back the ground up show!!!
When's the new course coming out? I'm ready to buy it right now.
Wouldn't it have been way easier to lie the tabletop on the floor and screw the legs and drawer cabinet on upside down?
I'd love to find a master mind with a few creators.
Love it, love it, love it!!!!
Love it! I won't be surprised if this channel will be bigger than your original one 👍 and yeah, I plan to not monetize my new channel too as my annual income (day job) is way too big to be replaced by Yt money anyway.
