Appreciate the video! Glad to see the player delivered on its promises! Quick question, did you notice any noise coming from the hard drive when you played your movies off of it? And any recommendations for hard drives if I plan to connect straight to the box with the SATA cable like you did?
I own both, if you're trying to play back ISO/BDMV then dune is your choice because it has the best support for those formats. Or playing multi channel sacd files. You would pick zidoo if you want a better overall interface for home theater and along with a dedicated music app for your local music files.

Can it run Dolby profile 7 dual layer FEL rips perfectly fine? I have Nvidia shield 2019 currently but it doesn't run dv profile 7 rips with its full potential. It ignores the MEL/FEL layers which has extra metadata. And do you recommend buying this when I already have Nvidia shield?
I won't say 100 percent because these Realtek players have issues. If you have a shield and that works for you no need to use a zidoo player in my opinion. These type of players support the profiles but I saw mixed reviews on the dual layers fel rips.
Be careful, I owned a Dune HD Real Vision 4K Plus, and am buying a zidoo z9x pro. Why? Dune HD has no HDR10+ on kodi, and dune collection scraping, is different from kodi pattern. If you like kodi, go zidoo.
Hey Pein, is the hdmi cable that comes with the Zidoo an hdmi 2.1 cable? in other words, does it support 48 gbps? I figured it should since the z20pro is a 2.1 device but not sure if they would include that in the box. Thanks for your input!

Hello, I have switched from a Dune HD 4K Pro to the Zidoo Z9X Pro. The picture quality of the Z9X Pro is very good, but the Zidoo app is significantly worse than the Dune. But the biggest problem is that the Zidoo has big problems with Blu-ray BDMV and ISO with menu. None of my 30 BDMVs and ISOs were played back by the Zidoo without errors. Even a test Zidoo X9S and Z9X have the same problems. HDD connected via SATA. However, my Dune HD 4K Pro plays ALL 30 BDMVs and ISOs without errors. Is this known? Is there a solution, what can I do? The longer I have the Z9X Pro, the more I do NOT like it.
Hello Biker, I'll be addressing this comment in a video upload scheduled for tomorrow. It's a known issue with zidoo not playing back bdmv/iso with menus correctly or some even failing for that matter. The solution is to do your research on the forums to see what work arounds is being posted. I have the Dune Real Vision 4K Plus and it played every ISO I threw at it so far.

Yes, I know what model you're referring to it's sold out right now, and just last week, it was available... Going with dune, you'll enjoy your menus the way you are supposed to at least
Same. It has issues. And the delays on playback and even some menu navigation isn't really acceptable when boxes from a couple of years ago don't have them. Not quite sure why so much hype and praise for this box, returned mine the other day.
1) Doesn’t it launch into Home Theater 4 automatically every time we launch the system? 2) does the receiver showing the audio decoded? E.g DA, DTS etc
You can set a option in the apps menu to automatically load into home theater 4.0 and on my nakamichi setup when I play a dolby atmos or dts or whatever he displays the source format.
