Joey taking his hobby back I really enjoy the journey. I have a nano saltwater tank with just one hermit crab and I love it.
That's badass
The more I learn about hermit crabs, the more I'd love to keep one some day!
I am so jealous. That is probably one of my dream tanks. Do you keep any corals or macroalgae with it? How often to you top off or do water changes? Do you use ro water or just tap? Do you feed it? Does it try to escape? I would like to know, for science.
@@snekysneks hey Jessica, it’s a 4 gallon tank, I do a water change once a week and change 50% of the water. I keep very simple corals and I use ro water. The tank is filled with coral rock (the one Joey used in this video). Yeah I feed it with tweezers and the little fellow doubled in size in about 10 months.
It‘s a small tank so water quality is crucial and it’s difficult to find a suited pump to generate enough but not to much flow … the tank has a lid on top but the little fellow never even tried do escape.
I keep freshwater fish since I was 9 years old and everybody said saltwater is so expensive and a nano can’t be kept stable so don’t even bother…. But it’s a great tank and it works just fine !
@@patrickfo967 thanks!
Congrats on getting the fish you wanted! I love your honesty... we could use more of that in the world. Your videos are helping us learn the important things to help us enjoy this wonderful hobby of fish keeping. Thanks for all you're doing!
Absolutely love this style of video, feel like you’re just having a chat with us. Learned loads today, loved it!
Hello 👋 How are you doing today??
I feel like this video is the most like being in there with Joey just watching him quickly setting up a tank, talking to him and learning from him…. And I dig it
The hobby should be what we love and enjoy. It’s our hobby and we should absolutely love it. I love my shell dwellers, kuli loaches and white clouds, and Zebra danios all in a 55 gallon tank. I love it. Thanks for sharing the shell dwellers in your office tank. I’ve had mine for 4 years.
That's an interesting mix. Are your shell dwellers Neolamprologus multifasciatus? How long have those species been together?
In swedish we actually call them dragonfish :D
I've always loved them too, but I don't have the economy to even have a small saltwatertank with clownfish.
My favorite fish to keep is Platies and I've never cared about what anyone has to say about that! They are sturdy, pretty, personable and easy to keep! :3
I'm glad you were able to get another fish that you love to keep. Thank you for taking us on your journey with the new changes to the gallery. It's looking amazing so far.
0:11 the passion you have for your aquariums and the critters in them is infectious, and i really appreciate it
We had one years ago. One of my favorites especially hand feeding him well by tongs lol. Fun part was when it was time to clean the tank and have your arm around them.
Thank you for showing and sharing the reasoning for how you set up that filter. Loving these long style videos, can’t wait to see the new room fully setup!
Joey getting passionate about the fish is what makes this channel great 💪
The Joey that inspired me 3-4 years ago is the same Joey I'm watching 'till now! Same Joey that tells you to go for what ur heart desires! My man! 🐟🐠🐡👌
Thank you Joey for sharing so many diy aquariums projects. Because of your videos I got into having aquariums in my home. I never kept fish before I met my husband but after 3 years together I finally started freshwater tank. I watch so many RUclips videos did a lot google research about keeping fish but your channel is very fun to watch very easily understand how to start diy projects and I love diy projects hand on things to take care fish tank. After 2 years I had my first fish tank I bought 3 more tanks all freshwater. In 2022 and just with in 5 months I went and got 9 more tanks. Guess what my said to 2 weeks ago, are you going turn our spare bedroom into mini fish room you got too many tanks lol 😂😂😂. I never thought about how many tanks I want to have. I just went bought so many tanks because I got new freshwater pet’s every time I go to pet stores for supplies. Now I got so many and my baby daughter loves watching the swimming around. I got loaches, corydoras, African dwarf frogs, guppies, Japanese white rice, ballon mollys, platys, hill-stream loaches, and pea puffers. Maybe soon I might need to learn how make a aquarium shelving because I’m running out of space for new tanks. My fish are breeding and I got too many baby fish at home don’t know what to do with them.
I knew what it was before you even said all the additives.Very invasive gave it away.❤They are beautiful.Congratulations
Same! He said he wondered if anyone would know and I was like ME ME ME 😂
I just saw a brackish tank with scats and archers. Have you done a video on them. Scats are my favorite fish. Especially in a planted tank 😁
Joey. The inside of those hose have smooth walls. The other layer is like rings.. Keeps the hoses from kinking. And also I got a couple different style hoses. They all collect mum and algae. Got to scrub them out once and awhile. It will reduce flow.
Beautiful fish, one of my favorites to see while diving, and believe me, I’ve seen some big boy’s 😃. They are terrible in nature because in many spaces, they don’t have natural preditors, while being master preditors themselves.
I rather you have one, and show us then that they are hunted
KDIY= instant good mood
I know exactly what kinda fish you're talking about, the VLf. 180g is a lot of tank for that fish and they are awesome. I wonder if you can fly down to the Gulf and capture your own and import him back? I'm pretty sure Florida will pay you to catch and keep them.
take a couple pythons too ...please
I knew what kind of fish it was in the last video 😂. Large saltwater tank for one fish, can only mean a few things. I love it!
Nice pick Joey! You should look into Rhinomuraena quaesita (Blue Ribbon Eel) they could be a great match to your 180. It's amazing to see the male/female color patterns during their life span. Have fun!
the filter you were talking about at 20:29 was called a rena filastar, they had a xp1, xp2, and xp3 model with stacked baskets for media. i got a xp3 from petsmart back in 2010 when i first found your channel. ever since then ive built my own pvc overflows with sumps.
Great choice of fish! Definitely one I'd love to own in the future.
Awesome fish, I do believe that there are some great variety's of this type, and if you want to keep this type then go for it, I myself keep black widow frontosa's in an 8x2x2ft tank with 2 fx6 filters, love it keep up the good work and thanks 👍
I swear..your videos just GET BETTER AND BETTER!!!! and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR NEW FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joey I agree with you, I do love some of the most basic fishes just because they were the fishes that got me into the hobby.
Congratulations on getting your favorite fish, keep up the good work
Wow! This is phenomenal!!!! I just love these fish🙏🙏
With love from the netherlands
Yes! It's back! So glad you got your favorite fish back. Love that fish.
Mangroves ! You should put some in there Joey
Sad to see we’ve lost Kevin in your videos, definitely my favourite character to date, but glad you’re enjoying your own hobby again
Awesome looking fish. I’ve wanted one ever since I seen one. Like most people not set up to have one.
I love that fish and can’t wait to have one of my own. Great choice!
For anyone wondering the rock is colored pink to mimic coraline algea, so your tank doesnt look brand new, or if you dont a few blindingly white rocks against your mature rock.
Not sure how your fish is going to invade anything, he's in a tank. Beautiful fish, beautiful gallery. Be well
Heck with what everyone else thinks honestly joey definitely do what you enjoy that's honestly where the inspiration to others is being happy and sharing with fellow keepers! I've watched you for years and have taken lots of advice from you and applied it to my own keeping. Keep up the amazing work as always can't wait to see what you do next man 🤘
Mangrove tank in the aquaponics room would be perfect
I started watching your channel years ago, then dropped off as videos weren't my style as much anymore. Since your video announcing that you were taking the videos and hobby back for yourself, I've seen every video! Love your stuff!
Awesome! Looking forward to watching that baby grow!
You do you!
I have a 75 gallon with just mixed platties, my favorite fish!
It’s nice to see you doing things for yourself and not to please the internet. As long as you’re enjoying your hobby people will enjoy watching. Keep up the good work 😊
I love them. I used to have one that I kept with a snowflake eel.
That whole 180 u can have a few Lions in there...would look awesome with a few different colors. Black Volitan and Red....
Love this 😀 I just started looking I haven't started yet but it definitely intrigues me ! I was wondering where is big momma (octopus) at?
Clicking faster than the eye could see!!!
Btw nothing is more satisfying in this hobby than getting that dream/favorite fish.
Joey I’m happy your happy with the fish. I do like the fish myself though. I’m loving this journey so far.
I've always liked them. He looks pretty cool.
I think most of us agree that we prefer this Joey who's doing what he wants and what he enjoys like the early days.
...Interesting choice. What I would like to know is what happened to your (my favorite) spotted grouper...
stunning fish, and like you stated you're a responsible keeper. everyone has a much-loved fish, mine is gold fish, just love them.
Love this fish! Looking forward to watching him grow up!
With the rock and powerheads / wavemakers, there probably is no need for any filtration other than that. Water changes with the one fish occasionally.
Love him.! Im currently waiting for the arrival of my first Discus! excited, and your vids have helped me along the way! TY
what kind of plants and do you put cuttings in tank? thanks for all the amazing info.
A grinder some suitable silicone type adhesive and a vision will make that coral whatever you want.
Love the channel man.
I'm happy you got it. !!!!!! I know you was sad when you got rid of the big one. Enjoy him Joey!!!
Congratulations on your new Aquarium fish
been watch for a long time, love the new videos, looks like you enjoying them again, you do what you want and love and keep it up
I don’t know why but I love listening to him talking about stuff, and being honest.
Good choice Joey always loved these fish look so graceful but deadly.
They are a beautiful fish seen a few snorkeling out at the reef good job Joey 🇦🇺👍🙏🤙
I use and FX6 along with ehime pro 4 on a 90 gallon, always over filter especially with heavy stock, thanks for showing the filter Joey
I love that fish and knew that was the fist the moment you started talking about it. Due to them being invasisive though, I do want to try eating one some day... apparently they taste very good
Would be a neat topic about vintage equipment and what has stood the test of time
Pink coral looks natural awesome
Get a snowflake eel in there aswell, will compliment each other
As soon as you said "venomous" I knew it'd be the Lionfish :) It was sad when you lost the last one. It's nice to see one outside of sushi videos lol
Nice set up awesome fish
He's so cute! Congrats on your new buddy.
Its all about enjoying the hobby joey, you still have the basement and possibly a new gallery, why not have that one place to chill and enjoy for yourself
Its fun to see the fun and enjoyment radiating off a man unboxing aquarium paraphernalia and a new fish lol
I guessed right!!!! I love him! Congrats on your beautiful new fish 🥰
I love my pair of Jaguar cichlids and will always have some Raphael catfish
good for you Joey!! but where do/did you rehouse those other large fish?
I swear these videos teach me so much
Absolutely gorgeous fish😍😍
Favorite fresh water: Electric blue jack dempseys or cichla piquiti
Saltwater: Snowflake morray
Yay...i guessed it!! I remember the other one you had a while ago, beautiful fish for sure!! Nice Joey!
Will you be getting an ATO for your salt tanks?
You need a school of lion fish !!
my absolute favorite fish is the basic, most common...feeder goldfish (more commonly known as comet golfish)
Do whatever makes you happy! We all support your decisions.
I fell in love with Stars and Stripes Puffers because you introduced me to them, i now have 3 of them. Going to miss seeing the updates on yours. Gotta do what makes you happy though.
I think you should keep what you like providing you can care for it properly. I think this is a lovely & very interesting fish.
Love it! My favorite fish is the goldfish so I understand where you are coming from... I'd dedicate a 180 to one goldfish 😂🙌
2
Same, it’ll probably get as big as a football!
loove the fish! keep us updated on him! glad u enjoy ur hobby because that makes it fun to watch
I'll miss the panther grouper but like you said, your choice!
Fantastic looking fish.great video all the best from the UK..
Love my guppies.
And that's what makes me happy 😊
Do what you love!
Keep what keeps you EXCITED!!
get a moray eel with it when it gets bigger!
Speaking of invasive species, I've got 2 snakeheads, beautiful looking fish btw. Gotta call him mufassa
My favorite are simple. Bettas. I love them so much
Definitely needs some scape action but very cool!
Awesome little guy. That what the hobby is all about when it comes to the personal side of it. Doing or keeping the things you like. Not what other thing you should like. AMEN.
I know you have probably already done this video but could you do a in-depth video on how to set up a salt water aquarium as in what salt and how much per ltr/gallon using a canister filter like you have setup in this video. Had fresh water aquariums for years now wanting to get into salt water.
I would love seeing a lungfish in any of your tanks in the new building! They are really the most uniqe fish out there with extreme adaptations and are acually living fossills living for 400+ million years on earth😍
Привет 🖐️ с разводни аквариумных рыбок из Ташкента 🖐️, дружеский лайк от моего канала 👍, удачи и успехов
Huh. Hey Joey, you ever use Pex A? Think that's the one with the expanding rings... bet you can use that instead of those ridged hoses. It's meant for drinking water, can't see it being harmful to fish but it's easy to use. Stick a ring on one side, Stick a gun that expands the ring open and shove the hose with the ring onto your connection. It shrinks in seconds. Really cool. Looks like that filter is like 1 1/4", maybe 1 1/2"?
some fancy tail goldfish would look great in that bamboo aquarium (in my opinion xD)
This fish forever will remind me of Deuce Bigalow.
