That is very true. People in Malaysia rever Mahathir so much as if he is a savior to Malaysia. However, he is just a cunning and treacherous politician exploiting the people and enjoying his life of privilege as a part of the aristocracy. Just because there's no obvious corruption doesn't mean there's no exploitation.

Disagree as both are the same kind as Ajib learned from the great grand master of Malaysia Chess game himself therefore is equally BAD. One thing that Ajib has forgotten about his lessons of his Sifu is that everything must be done under the table and not over the table that landed him into such difficult situation like now. One small but serious mistake make alot of differences.

Malaysia History has been totally wipe off and what we learn are what our government want us to know. Where are the truth and why our Government are afraid of our past which tell who we were, where we were, what happened. Malacca history of historic figures like Hang Tuan and brothers are gone. Tell the History as we are all Malaysian and that Malaysia was multiracial and multi religions then but no matter what our past, there is no shame in telling the true story and not lie.

Yes,it was 16 September 1963 that Malaysia came into being comprising of Malaya, the two Borneo territories and Singapore.
That day was conspicuous because it also happened to be PAP leader Lee Kuan Yew's birthday. In fact many people do not know that Lee Kuan Yew was one of the founding fathers of Malaysia an historical fact always being in the denial by Umno.He was one of the signatorials of the 1963 Maaysian Agreement.
The Borneo States of Sabah and Sarawak were guaranteed of their rights under the 1963 Malaysian Agreement. One of those rights was the continued usage of English as the official language without a time frame. The other was the oil royalty which of course Umno did not honour it with the passing of the Petroleum Act of 1974 in parliament. Then there was the obsolute right of Sabahans and Sarawakian on religious freedom. But this was never honoured by the Alliance and then BN goverment.
What was to come was a tragedy for the former Borneo States.Their rights were being trampled upon with the passing of the 1976 National language Act which was done without consultation with the major stakeholders and the people of Sabah and Sarawak. Then the Petroleum Act of 1974 robbed off the oil royalty that was promised to Sarawak but at only five percent and that was not even honourd in later years.
Malaysia came into being on 16 September 1963 because Sabah and Sarawak were being promised by the Alliance goverment that their rights will be well taken cared of.But this pledge was being broken by Umno in later years.
It was the Cobbold treaty and the referendum that the people of Sabah and Sarawak decided to join Malaysia.Even Robert Kennedy was there to ascertain of the referendum.
Our federal leaders what now with a new goverment taking charge should honour the 1963 original Malaysian Agreement and it is time they do something about it.

In 1961, the Tunku also stated that Brunei would also be consulted re. their interest in joining the Federation, alongside Singapore, Sarawak and North Borneo. Brunei's subsequent rejection of the Federation was put down to the Sultan wanting to be Malaysia's Head of State on a permanent basis- but I would argue that it had just as much to do with his fear that KL would take the lion's share of oil revenues, which were beginning to trickle into the Brunei's coffers at the time. Looking at how Sabah and Sarawak were treated by KL, he was proven right. Instead the Sultan seems to trust Singapore's Chinese leaders more than his fellow Malays in KL, in that Brunei and Singapore have a monetary union, and will assist each other when each other currencies are threatened.

By painting the low oil royalty as the main reason for Sabah and Sarawak's poverty and inequality, you are instigating anger towards the federal government without presenting all the facts. The oil royalties are undeniably low, but Sabah and Sarawak are still rich states with many people gaining fortunes from natural resource extraction. Why are so many in the states still so poor? CORRUPTION. Before Malaysia as a nation can move on to a better future, there is a very real need to tackle the lack of integrity of our people and the prevalent corruption everywhere.

      This is my opinion, but personally, I think Najib is better than Mahathir. Why? When Najib was the PM;
      1) our economy was quite stable. (yes it was not at the best state, but better than right now) The tax is not too high or too low too. In other country, their tax is waay higher than the GST we have back then. (rn the tax, SST is even higher than GST in the past haha)
      2) I don't really see any big problem between the Muslims and the other people who practiced other religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. Look at the current state of Malaysia now. The most popular conflict that's still ongoing between the ppl who practice different religions and the Muslims is the boycott campaign where muslims & malays boycott non muslim & non malay products.
      3) furthermore, not just the religion in Malaysia is affected, language and even race is affected too. In terms of language, ppl for some frickin reason, hates the jawi which is just a way of writing malay using arabic alphabets and wants it to be removed from the education system. Example of conflict between races is between malays and indians about the case of Muhammad Adib that hasn't yet been solved.
There's so much more bad thing that has happened after Najib is no longer the PM. In a nutshell, while it may be true that they are like basically two sides of the same coin, one side which is the bottom is better even though its at the bottom since u will be able to determine the value of the coin since it tells u at the bottom example 50 cents, but the other side which is at the top, even though looks nice with the cool shapes and stuff, it wont really be able to help u determine the value of the coin.
p.s: again this is just my opinion and im just a lil 14 year-old-boi (might be too young to think about politic but i wanted to give my opinion since the Malaysia's politic getting worser everyday)

Sebab tu la aku rasa GST tu perlu sebenarnya. Sebab selama ini Malaysia hanya bergantung harap pada Petronas sahaja. Bila GST tu ada, kerajaan akan perlahan-lahan pulangkan semula minyak Sabah/Sarawak.
Aku tak hairan bila kerajaan sekarang hapuskan GST, diorang terus tak jadik nak teruskan projek kerajaan sebelum ni, sebab diorang dah takde sumber.

The ruling government, since the 80's, have been neglecting development in Sabah & Sarawak (at least not the level of development enjoyed by most states in Semenanjung), that's a fact. But, somehow they chose to the same PM who came with that policy, again!
So now, we really should consider to renegotiate with our brothers & sisters from Sabah & Sarawak on how to develop the country as a whole. However, please don't blame leaders from Semenanjung alone. Those leaders from Sabah & Sarawak, from the previous government, I believe that maybe.. just maybe, they didn't do their job really well (the same leaders are still ruling nowadays..). Otherwise, how come Sarawak can have ultra-rich Ex-CM?
So, we must put a side our differences and really think and agree to continue growing as a whole. And please, please laa.. don't start labelling Semenanjung as Malaya. Labelling wont do any good. We'll end up like children, blaming others by saying.. he started it!

At the end of the day, many Sarawakian leaders who are currently in the opposition would rather vote the partisan way than for the future of the people they serve. GPS(SUPP, PBB, PRS, PDP) MPs didn't support the amendment on the bill in parliament earlier this year- citing that the amendment didn't fit their requirements and that PH was rushing it. However, they provided little (meaningful) insight into the changes they wanted.
As opposed to the Undi18 amendment that seemed beneficial for both the government and opposition- more so for the latter actually, many BN and BN friendly Sabah & Sarawakian MPs abstained from voting in favour of the amendment. If they had succeeded in amending it, it would have seemed like a win for the PH government (though it really would have been a bipartisan success). Perhaps they didn't want the government to succeed where they hadn't for the past few decades- which is a real shame.
I hope the Liew Vui Keong will attempt to make the amendment again, this time with more bipartisan engagement. Hopefully, the genuine concern GPS MPs have for their people will supersede their need to protect their own political futures.
And it's high time Taib Mahmud meet the MACC man. Crony or not, this man has stolen enough from the people he was supposed to serve.

Even then East Malaysian had practically bullied. Some then East Malaysian branded the West Malaysian as Orang Semanjung yang angkuh. Yayasan Sabah having much funds gone broke with BN taking control. Chief Minister of Sawarak going into richest. How do you think that Malaysia election in early 80s' were funded to bring victory to the then BN Govt. Today the same people sound like angels and saviour to equality. I must praise Najib for having made effort to recognize East Malaysia by allowing 16th Sept as public holiday and effort to allow development of infrastructure in East Malaysia which was not attended by the then premier of the 80s'. to the point that even the CM do not recognize Sabah Sarawak as a country (Negara), whatever they want to do they always ask malaysian parliment which have no power over Sabah / Sarawak legislative house, that is because the CM is not supposed to be CM they are PM of Sabah and Sarawak, but malayan quietly let them not recognized as PM so that they can always fool the people into thinking Sabah Sarawak is Negeri

The Cobbold Commission did not reported Sabahans mostly in favour of the formation of Malaysia. 1/3 agreed. 1/3 was unsure, another 1/3 was against the idea all together. And somehow, they took it as majority agreed. We got a merger without real consent.

Why Malaysia ? Who is the mastermind of Malaysia ? it is not Tunku who proposed Malaysia , It is Singapore Lee Kuan Yew .
Cobbold Mission is a CON JOB by the British ( as influenced by LKY and Tunku ) to serve Malaya and Singapore interest. It is not independent and neither transparent to reflect the true will of the people of Sabah and Sarawak . Just read the secret letter by LORD COBBOLD.
The Commission released its findings, report and recommendations on 1 August 1962. It concluded that the formation of Malaysia should be implemented. However, Lord Cobbold also stressed that all parties enter the federation as equal partners.
However , Lord Cobbold concealed his personal secret letter to Mr Macmilliam on 21st June 1962 : " I have supported Malaysia in the report on the assumption that Singapore also joins in .... if Singapore were to drop out , a federation between Malaya and the Borneo territories without Singapore would have few attractions."[4]
In 1965, Singapore LKY secretly negotiated separation with Malaya Tunku without any knowledge and consent of the people of Sabah and Sarawak . the Balance of Power is GONE since then....

Thanks for your fictional history lesson but i think the main issue of Sarawak and Sabah with the federal government is not of them joining the federation of Malaysia. Rather the main issue is the disbursement of only 5% out of the promised 40% of their oil revenue returned back to their state as explained in the video.

Harold MacMillan & Tunku choose to bulldoze the formation of Malaysia through the signing of a secret agreement between them dated 31st July 1962 without express consent from Sabahans & Sarawakians.

@@usprotec Singapore likes to tell the world that they are being kicked out. But it was secret negotiation of separation. Why ? you have to dig out what LKY wrote to Tunku in May 1961... it all started because of Lee Kuan Yew the con man . You may also watch the history channel on youtube : Road to nationhood....
