Thanks, man. Yeah, it rules. The stock pickups are amazingly good for the price, but I replaced the bridge pickup with a Custom Shop Jim Campilongo unit. --Shawn Hammond
Hey, I bought it on eBay and it already had the Gretsch Filter'Trons, gold hardware, a TV Jones bypass switching system, a vintage-style "mud" switch, a 6120-style maple peghead veneer, a Chet Atkins-engraved pickguard, and binding to the f-holes and headstock. I knew before I bought it that I'd want TV Jones Classics in there, so I installed those myself with a TV Jones surgical-tube kit (read about the unforeseen adventure in my July 2011 Tuning Up column). Thanks for asking, man. Take care!
Hey harryperch10. I would've completely concurred 30, 20, or even 10 years ago, but the Classic Vibes are pretty freaking awesome, man. Even better with the Custom Shop Jim Campliongo pickup I swapped into the bridge position. I've owned pricier Fender Teles, and I actually dig this one more. To each his/her own...
Thanks for the fast reply ! I'm going to mod my Gretsch with faux-bindings but still looking into that what's the best way. Any tips are welcome. I really do like the sound of the tv jones classics, again proven in this demo ! Of course a very nice amp too.
decent review, I didnt really like his playing but thats a matter of taste. The only thing this review is missing is a demo of the voicing switch reversed. I for one want to know what it would sound like if he played the tele on the F hole setting and vice versa.
Not the most stunning of guitarists but he has a certain style and he's getting some great sounds out of the gear. Step in the right direction for sure, that dude reviewing the 25th Ann RG and the Vai Legacy was just awful.
You people will never be happy with a guitarist demoing gear. Get over yourselves. Good artists don't desperately demand youtube channels to find professional guitarists to demo gear for them. They have a sense of what they want already and are humble about it.
I appreciate how easily this cleans up at it's threshold. You can have so much dynamic. Its almost exactly what Im looking for.

Great review. Tavo Vega makes some of the best gear around!

I dig the tunes you are playing! Did you write those? ;)
You guys finally found someone who can play!
Woow great review ! How did you mod the Gretsch and what did you do exactly ? I'm trying to mod my own G5120. Keep it up !
Se nota que es un gran Amp, gracias!!! From Chile
You guys should include the price in the description section of your reviews.
The reverb sounds AMAZING. Is that because it's ''tube driven reverb'' . ?
Is that a modified g5120 ?
decent review, I didnt really like his playing but thats a matter of taste.

What program/effect/plugin did you use to get that 60s look of the video?
That sounds amazing
Great looking and sounding amp ! Can't go wrong with a Bassman.
Finally, someone who doesn't suck at guitar playing
I agree. This is great.
well done
wow, nice playin'!
Is that a classic vibe telecaster? It sounds pretty amazing
Agree!
PG, please... give that man a f****ng Fender Tele!! You shouldn't do a review with a Squier... By the way, very good review ;)
Good review, and for once a good player.
Btw: First!!!

F-hole makes sense, but PLANK? They couldn't just call it 'solid?' Fancy pants hipster doofuses.
