And then feeling guilty about clicking not interested because you know RUclips is going to screw that channel over if even a couple of people do that.
Mine is those same damned channels that spam community posts and are immune to the "do not recommend posts from this channel" button. One time I got the same post in my recommendations FOUR TIMES IN A ROW, despite clicking Not Interested and DNR. It's rather irritating when the button does not do what the button says 😡

A few weeks ago I was getting like. 2 minute unskippable ads or something getting through ublock and I was like "what on earth is going on, is this how they expect me to watch YT? Yeah, I might as well watch on a phone or never watch RUclips ever"

It's so messed up how they just destroyed search one day. It's not like it just broke and they didn't fix it. They literally destroyed it and acted like nothing happened. And you can still search youtube with google so there's not even a point to it.
The search was so damn good at some point, I would discover so many content creators that I still watch to this day or at least have been interested in awhile. Now I can’t get ANYTHING I actually want, let alone discovering someone worthwhile

I love mindlessly scrolling through thousands and thousands of shorts for hours on end, letting time go by and wasting my youth on useless content specifically designed to make me ignore my real life responsibilities and making me depressed as I watch more successful people through a screen in my poorly lit room... Thanks RUclips!

I have a strict policy - I never watch 2 shorts in a row. If I click a short - I watch it, go back to long form content.
There are extensions (like News Feed Eradicator, for instance) out there for blocking certain parts of youtube, such as the recommendations sidebar. Would highly recommend looking into that if you're genuinely struggling.
Good thing that watching shorts pop up in your feed doesn’t actually play them in the order you see their thumbnails, but it also gives you content from people you aren’t subscribed to and don’t even like watching! Genius algorithms!
My favorite thing RUclips does is when I listen to a song, and instead of more songs from that artist or genre, they recommend thirty different identical uploads of that same song. Since I liked it so much I might want to listen to it again.

When I like a song it recommends nothing similar on my RUclips music, it just puts a song I haven’t listened to in a year or so in my offline mix lmao
I can remember a time where RUclips music was actually good for discovering music through algorithmic recommendations. 😢

I have known people for YEARS in the van dwelling community, building out their vans even sometimes in a forest with cordless tools. Some have a few thousand subs like under 10 thousand. And this black girl who had contacts I assume, 3 videos in a row in trending. She had over 3 MILLION subs and 3 videos TOTAL for being on RUclips 3 or 4 days, and never built ANYTHING on her van. And likely wouldn't know how. Incredibly unfair to the dedicated channels that have been around for YEARS.
I always forget, but someone has to remind me... I've rarely found anything that was 'trending' interesting (and not just on youtube).
I used to like it 5-7 years ago, but now i don't open at all.

As a watcher of RUclips, I love being recommended the reactions to things I want to watch and not the thing I want to watch.
Right? Because I totally care about some stranger's reaction to the thing I want to watch more than my own.
Man has to be careful, RUclips might not be happy with him for revealing their secrets
Also, RUclips thinks I really want to watch some other random Short when, on desktop, I scroll the mouse wheel in a vain attempt to scroll the comments on a Short. RUclips, I'd literally pay you to turn that "feature" off. I have to keep going to my history to expunge whatever random Short I suddenly started watching, lest you recommend 50 more Shorts from whoever the hell made that random Short.
they won't even let me pay to get rid of the goddamn Shorts tab entirely. RUclips/10.

I hope RUclips knows we have never and will never actually go into our “watch later” playlist.

When I find a creator I like I don‘t immediately subscribe to their channel, but I binge watch until I am fed up and don’t need to subscribe anymore
to be completely honest i havent even clicked on my subscriptions tab in years, it got too cluttered so now i just type in a channel name directly and go from there. i mean if i cant remember a channel name then i probably dont care about their videos. lucky that man carrying thing shows up on my front page...
I do find it silly though when some people complain they don't get their subscriptions on their home page when there's a dedicated tab for it. But it's fine to not use it though. But that's where the latest videos from creators go.
They do have the option on mobile to press on a specific creator and see their latest uploads, you might like that.
And you can Unsubscribe from the channels you don't watch on the Subscirbtion tab itself as well so you are still a tiny bit silly for not using 😂

My favorite is taking the time to select ‘not interested’ on every single recommendation on a major topic to only be fed that topic content relentlessly for days.

And if you haven't already seen it, you need to watch Spike Lee's film _Bamboozled._ It's like _The Producers,_ meets _Network,_ meets _The Chapelle Show._ Not at all safe for work, but like _Network,_ it's almost prophetic in its depiction of the downward spiral of television (or these days, online) programming.

I subscribed to so many people, that I figured out that the limit to subscriptions is 2000.
I keep having to unsubscribe to people to get other subscriptions.
For me most stuttering is the limit on liked videos. I keep finding old videos that i liked not liked.

You can only have about 250 playlists too. Well.... they still exist, they just drop off the bottom, of the list so you can't see them. I keep having to delete old ones to make room for new ones.
Despite spending like 4-5 hours a day on youtube for the last 4 years, im only subscribed to about 12 channels. I dont know why but i just never subscribe unless i absolutely adore the youtuber. I also very rarely thumbs up videos

I love searching videos and seeing results completely unrelated to what I searched
I love getting notifications on my phone about clickbait photoshop thumbnail "movie trailers" by fake youtube channels, that say official trailer in the title and way past the displayed character limit say (fan trailer) so they cant be removed. I wish I got more notifications of them, and I can't wait for there to be even more of these things to watch with ai pumping out videos. What a magical time to be on this great website!
I have never seen this channel before, and I was recommended this video. Gonna subscribe cuz the rest of the catalogue is similar to others channels I find entertaining. I like comedic parody sketches; they are one of the types of RUclips videos I watch.
I love searching channels by name and getting two videos before it completely switches over to the least related thing possible, especially when its not related to anything i have ever watched on my account
