This kind of stuff is why I love classic FNAF. There was such a strong air of mystery behind it all and I loved how open-ended it was. The new stuff is more entertaining than scary to me, but videos like this make me wish the story had kept its original atmosphere.
Chica's animation perfectly hit the creepy, uncanny valley feeling that the original game had. They all look like rundown animatronics walking & capture the style of the original FNaF 1 Foxy run animation but Chica would actually terrify me if I saw that in real life. That's not just an old animatronic walking towards me, there's something wrong with it. It's not supposed to act like that.
-chica would actually terrify me if I saw it in real life you're telling me that if you saw a 7ft tall animatronic bear walking towards you and laughing creepily you wouldn't be terrified?
@@DarkShadow-hy6iq to me at least, him saying he would be "actually terrified" of chica if he saw her irl implies that he wouldn't be terrified of the others. Just because I made a harmless assumption that may or may not have been true, you took that as an excuse to insult my reading skills??? Chill out.
Wow, absolutely horrifying. This video is probably the best piece of media to capture the horror of the original game that I have seen since the original game came out. The other games are scary too, but not the same flavor of scary.
The second i clicked on this video i said the exact words as you, this would be "absolutely horrifying". I love the way the game teleports the animatronics and seing them walk would sadly make the game easier. But if they actually were walking it would be horrifying and it would even stall you to make you watch as they move towards the office, which could actually balance it out.
I noticed that each animatronic has its own style: Bonnie walks in a more casual and calm manner, reflecting the fact that he is an agitated but extremely silent animatronic in the game. he makes almost no noise during his nighttime walk other than his moans. Chica has a more clumsy and bizarre way to walk, which is compatible with her angrier, greedy, nothing feminine and restless personality, a huge contrast with her behavior on stage as she calls herself the "lady of the group" Foxy runs with his hook raised and jaw opening and closing, reflecting his aggression and rougher mannerisms. And Freddy moves in a more formal manner, practicing a confident march and maintaining his stage pose, as if he were acting or rehearsing. This reflects the fact that he is the face of Fazbear and needs to be more "elegant".
Freddy's and Chica's are the best. They both seem forced and labored. Freddy does this by having the legs move but torso stays still, like he was supposed to stay still but his legs just wouldn't stop. Chica does it with details such as the slight tilt of her head, the unfocused eyes, and the slow shambles creating what feels like its just a lifeless body shambling slowly towards you...
If this was shown to kid me in 2014, I would've been absolutely immersed in this type of stuff. Man its been almost 9 years since fnaf came out ... how I miss those days.
I think the choice to not normally show the animatronics walking in the games leads to a better horror experience because it makes them seem more like ethereal entities, and not knowing how they fast they travel makes the amount of danger you're in ambiguous which leads to a better horror experience That being said, you've done great work with these animations and the time you spent on this is very much appreciated
I agree. It would’ve been cool to visibly see them walk around, but seeing the direction they’re moving in would ruin the tension. The fact you’d frantically search through the cameras to locate them all not only raises tension, but also drains power. Which in turn raises the tension even further. It’s great horror game design.
I agree with this, but imagine that sometimes, as an ester egg, you'd see one of them moving. Like, imagine this, you're used to them teleporting around. And you're randomly checking the cameras, you go on left hall and there you see chica slowly moving, that would scare the shit out of me the first time I'd see it.
Gonna be honest, I really thought this video would be like all my other videos. Just not noticed or even watched. It surprised me when I discovered that this video of all videos blew up
@@CL3NRcProductions you know what you should do you should do golden Freddys movement animation but when he walks it’s laggy and it leaves a trail of see through versions of him behind sort of like a acid trip but creepy not only that hallucinations would start to appear in your view as well what do you think ??? :)
Bonnie's walk is his trailer run but slowed into a walking pace Chicas walk is based on the Silver Eyes description where she lands on her heals and lifts with her toes, giving her a bounce in her step. She also keeps her arms stationary by her side. Foxys run is legit just his run in the camera view. And Freddy's walk is also based on the Silver Eyes description. He does a forward March, causing him to not Bob up and down due to him only landing on his toes. He also keeps his arms tucked by his torso, like his stage pose for example.
I imagined Freddy's walk being more paranormal. As we hear multiple steps moving quickly, y thought he kinda do something like a crawl with his hands and feet the only thing landing. Or dismantle himself to crawl all pieces at the time
I think what is important to remember, is these are animatronics. They have *endoskeletons* underneath their costumes. They are essentially metal pipe skeletons having to push against a bulky, clunky suit.
Exactly, in my opinion the most dissapointing thing in all of animations is such a smoothness in movements of those robots, like if their bodies were made out of rubber and not solid metal endo's, even moving mouth while talking is making them less scary. The best example is Golden freddy he dont have any endo inside however its able to show in the office what makes him scarier than classic 4 animatronics
Chica is my favorite animatronic and i agree, the way she's just staring unfocused into nothing and her jaw just hanging while she waddles towards the office is creepy to me
This really helped capture the essence and uncanniness of the original game. I liked freddys walk a lot- the way he was almost just sliding, as if trying to make very little footsteps, freaked me out when I saw it.
Saw another comment mentioning how he's supposed to not be moving but his legs just keep going. He's in idle stage mode after all so it makes sense he'd look like he's noclipping like that
I'd love to see a version of Fnaf 1 where you can move around the pizzeria completing objectives until 6am whilst avoiding the anamatronics walking like this. Would be pretty cool
Maybe there could be a free roam FNAF game where the animatronics can sneak up behind you, and maybe the objectives are like: you have to stop vandals from breaking in while also surviving.
Ehh, it would probably be a mod if he were to make it like fnaf 1. *Just look at what happened to Lego FNAF 1 and that one almost identical copy of FNAF 2*
@@YourInternetHistory676 There is a fnaf 1 map in Garry's mod where the animatronics REALLY walk. after 4th night they start to run tho if i good remember. It was a remake of an original map where they were straight up teleporting... well except Foxy of course. So i guess somebody made it already. Like a half a year ago? something like that.
This is brilliantly made and animated. Fantastic work. Chica's is my favorite. I love the vacant stare, her mouth being open, and the wobble of the weight as she takes a step. This captures what I love about FNAF 1
I've never seen this video before or even seen the FNAF 1 bots walk, but... somehow this dosen't feel like new information to me. I feel like I've always knew this is how they walk somehow.
I love this! I think this also really helps show personality for the missing kids, too. It adds an especially sad amount of depravity concerning the struggle of their robotic limbo that we've always known about, but have never truly seen. Jeremy (Bonnie) is undaunted and stoic, moving both his arms and legs to keep balance while looking straight ahead. Susie (Chica) is only focusing on the legs and feet to move, either just not really bothering with moving the eyes or arms (as you can see the eyes are crossed and the arms are wobbling), or she just can't control Chica as well, due to her younger age compared to the rest of the kids. Fritz (Foxy) is, while obviously fast and sporadic, is still in control of his limbs and eyes just like Jeremy is, yet is still held back by the limits of the animatronic itself. Gabriel (Freddy) is just like Jeremy in terms of stoic-ness, but just like Fritz (and unlike Susie), his limbs are controlled, holding them tight with his slow and methodical steps.
Bonnie is an interesting case because for all intents and purposes, Bonnie defies physics. Like actually. He’s the only animatronic that can teleport (Scott hinted it’s actually canon Bonnie can teleport) in the first game. It makes sense Bonnie is the most uncanny in the sense that he’s a robot with a non-robotic walk cycle because nothing about Bonnie is normal.
I love this video and the accuracy of how an animatronic would actually carry itself, not being overly animated and eerily rigid in its movements. It's greatly immersive.
The First Five Nights at Freddy's is an absolute Masterpiece not just for an Indie Horror Game. It's a milestone for Indie and Horror Games in general.
It's not entirely the same thing but this is exactly why I still say the first game is the best. It's already frightening enough on its own for the atmosphere and mystery, now adding simple lore walk cycles make it even creepier
@@anerrorhasoccurred8727the more robotic animatronics are way less creepy, when they look fuzzy, and more “realistic” it hits that uncanny valley feeling way more. Why fnaf 1 had the creepiest animatronics by far
@@zewestwind8087 FNAF 1 was the best simply because you had to piece the lore together and you didn't need seven books and forty different details to understand it. And the horror was ten fold.
I thought I was completely over FNAF spooking me but that initial shot of Bonnie walking out of the darkness somehow brought back me right back to that feeling I got in middle school when the series first took off. Well done!
You know given how long it took for us in real life to invent walking bipedal robots the fact that these things could walk around freely in the 80’s makes them technological marvels.
yeah, imho its also where the plot gets goofy if you think about it too long 😭 “literal genius afton invents free moving robots that can identify human faces and access criminal databases!!”
Bonnie: Very robotic and lifeless. Both the shell and the soul seem to just be "going through the motions." Chica: Vey forced and strained. It almost seems like the shell doesn't want to move, but is forced anyways by the soul. Foxy: The soul has developed a mastery of the shell's mechanics, using the increased mobility of the bare legs to run. Freddy: Robotic like Bonnie, but in a more determined way. The soul moves the shell towards it's destination with a confident stride, not bothering to move the arms out of their default position. He has a job to do.
The key with Chica is that the suit is broken-it doesn't fit quite right on the endoskeleton and none of its mechanical components actually function correctly. It's like a scrawny nerd with a hint of scoliosis trying to move around in heavy plate armour.
They would definitely have to use it sparingly, I think it’s scarier when you don’t see them move. That’s why foxy suddenly sprinting down the hall is so effective, they already built up the idea that they don’t move when you look at them, so they would have to only do it once in a great while.
Imagine playing the actual game, flipping through the cameras, and randomly they all start moving like that. It was freaky enough when it was just Foxy
Something about Chica’s walk is absolutely terrifying. The way her eyes just bulges out while she slowly shuffle towards you makes her look like a zombie.
I really love how Freddy's glowing pupils make it almost seem like he's staring at you as he walks toward the office. Even though he's staring foward, the pupils glowing give off the illusion of being stared at.
It's really cool to see what you did here. I love the first Freddy's game because I find it to be the creepiest and most unsettling game despite the many different games that have been made in the series. I love the atmosphere, character designs and visuals of the first game but one thing I always wanted to see more of in that first game was animations because apart from Foxy's run cycle and the jumpscares there really were no animations at all which always felt a little unfinished to me when the animatronics would simply teleport from camera to camera. I always thought if the game added some idle animations or walk cycles like this it would of made that first game even more terrifying and after seeing this I think I would have been right in that idea. These came out really good great work
I love how it really looks like they’re being controlled- like literal puppets or animatronics funnily enough and not just guys in suits trying to creep everyone out
Honestly I thought that Chica's would be the scariest because of the dislocated jaw and tilted head, but Freddie got me. He just... drifts, almost like a ghost.
This video gives me some feeling of nostalgia. Back to 2014-2015 when I was younger, I had a strong fear of fnaf games. I didn’t sleep well because my mind was focused on fnaf and those “scary robots”, I started crying because somebody JUST TALKED about animatronics, not even a game. Oh, and I was so anxious when I saw Bonnie or Chica on previews. Those animations… this is how I imagined how they moving. And it’s amazing.
The whole of the first game just has a feel of something else, I think. It doesn’t just feel like a “oh no spooky restaurant with killer machinery”, or even just a run-down location. From the black substance on the walls to the way the animatronic costumes are designed. *Something is wrong with this place.*
And I wish that the movie conveyed this art correctly. It just looks so kid-ified and goofy. Wish they would listen to the fans who have adored the game for a decade but nah gotta keep them box office rates sky high ig
@@tatert0tter347and then that kid-ification led so many horror games down a boring ass path of “ooh kid thing…. but its scary and wants to kill you”. especially jarring considering how absolutely disgusting and violent the fnaf story was.
In summary. Bonnie: Thousand mile stare/soul piercing gaze. Chica: Slack jawed and cross-eyed, as if she were a walking corpse. Foxy: Moves faster than his mechanisms should allow him to. Freddy: Walks without making any motion, almost giving the impression he's a statue sliding across the floor.
freddy is the best one like the fact that his top half of his body is just completly frozen in the state that it normally is in the stage is a really good touch
Chica’s had me verbally saying “ OH HELL NO!”😂 seriously tho I think her walk is my favorite, there is this unsettling creepy vibe from it. Like something that isn’t supposed to move in that way IS moving as if it’s not it’s own body if that makes any sense. Hopefully we get to see this in the movie. I do wish we could have seen her cannon walk in FNAF VR tho.
If you ever notice, some crytids or scary characters usually doesnt move their arms back and fourth when walking, in which gives more inhuman or uncanny vibe because its a usual thing we've seen, plus with more disturbing captures of their appearance.
This shows how underrated chica is. I feel she’s the only one here that has a walk cycle that will ready scare the heck out of you if it was one of ur first times playing. Foxy and Freddy even made me laugh, they weren’t scary. Bonnie was literally me first waking up, trying to walk first try. Chica’s? Oh gosh. This proves she’s really a fit animatronic for the series. More stuff: Chica is also quite…. Eery, if I can explain it. The chuck e cheese animatronics are horrifying, and she kinda reminds me of them. She is also the ONLY one to actaully not be mysterious but be scary at the same time, because she loves food, she’s female, she’s possessed by susan, blah, blah, blah. That is a lot more than other animatronics. You also gotta love she loves pizza. Like, who wouldn’t wanna come to a place, and see and animatronic eat pizza?? Admit it, it sounds fun. The thing about chica, is she was the most scary but child friendly of all time. Another thing is her designs. I dislike og foxy’s model. I dislike withered bonnie. He looks goofy. I dislike… ok, I don’t like phantom chica’s watermelon Theme, but she’s still really good. I dislike nightmare Freddy’s design. Like, look at his jaw. I dislike scrap trap. I think we can all agree. Tell me, are there any chica models you dislike? Exactly. Not a lot. So, yeah. Enjoy your day. And your pizza. (Unless chica steals it)
what's funny is this is what I would normally expect for a horror game. I'm glad we didn't get this though, having them "teleport" into place really elevates the mystery and foreboding; the uncanniness if you will.
fnaf 1 will always be my favorite fnaf game, someone said it way better than i did but i really love that it just had so much mystery around it. it was a dark, gritty-ish game with the only thing on your side were the building's shitty defense systems that would fail you eventually. to see them walking now here makes me feel so happy, i love seeing stuff like this come to life in a way? and instead of just showing us the walk cycle you put them in their hallways and react with their environment, the lighting, it's so very good :]
Honestly looks pretty good, it shows how much it would suck to have to use these marchines as bodies. Since you are pretty much just a zombie, malfunctioning, constantly fighting your instincts to obey your in orders.

Your opinion.
I noticed that each animatronic has its own style:
Bonnie walks in a more casual and calm manner, reflecting the fact that he is an agitated but extremely silent animatronic in the game. he makes almost no noise during his nighttime walk other than his moans.
Chica has a more clumsy and bizarre way to walk, which is compatible with her angrier, greedy, nothing feminine and restless personality, a huge contrast with her behavior on stage as she calls herself the "lady of the group"
Foxy runs with his hook raised and jaw opening and closing, reflecting his aggression and rougher mannerisms.

I think the choice to not normally show the animatronics walking in the games leads to a better horror experience because it makes them seem more like ethereal entities, and not knowing how they fast they travel makes the amount of danger you're in ambiguous which leads to a better horror experience
That being said, you've done great work with these animations and the time you spent on this is very much appreciated
I agree
I agree. It would’ve been cool to visibly see them walk around, but seeing the direction they’re moving in would ruin the tension. The fact you’d frantically search through the cameras to locate them all not only raises tension, but also drains power. Which in turn raises the tension even further. It’s great horror game design.

This is great, does such a good job of portraying the lifeless robotic movements of the animatronics, excellent work!

It’s honestly so cool to see what their walk cycles are so you can strategize how to get through the night
More stuff:
Chica is also quite….
