YOU ARE FAST. You said a lot of the same things I was thinking about the original deck. It was my very first Tarot deck and I wish it wasn't. I'm not sure if I wasn't ready for it, but I had a very hard time reading the cards intuitively and I was a little frustrated by it. My main thing was I had a hard time understanding the expressions of the people. I hadn't even checked out the Luna version, but it really looks like he touched up the expressions as well. I'm still not a super seasoned reader, so even for the ones I don't have memorized, I can see that in the Luna version as the cards get flipped through briefly, I'm able to pick up on so much more intuitively. I'm a gold girl more than a silver girl and a sun girl more than a moon girl, but I also like that the prismatic and rainbow effect captures a bit of that energy as well, honestly even better than the original. All in all, I haven't yet given the Luna version a chance and now I think I must have it. And I'm glad you said something about them being spicy because literally same. For such a pretty deck they can be so RUDE. Like I know I need tough love sometimes but simmer down. It's literally like a pastel girlie that is not afraid to hand someone's whole ass on a platter to them. Another experience I have with cards is typically, because I may overthink things, if the cards stop making sense, that's a sign that Spirit or my guides have hung up the phone. Like I've given you enough info, you're not trusting yourself, this session is over. I have the same experience sometimes with this deck, but this is the only deck that I have that has had no problem saying straight up, "you're overthinking it," "I've already answered this question," "you're not ready to know what I think," and once, "you need to give me a break from your bull 💩 and stop relying on cards so much to tell you what to do." She's also shady af and calculated because they gave me an answer I wanted to hear once about a person in my life and I got a life lesson from that one. When I came back to it, they were just like, "you had to learn for yourself 🤷🏼♀️" For me I use the 2 bonus cards but not the interpretations provided by the booklet, rather my own, though they're not far off. I'm an astrologer before a Tarot reader and I use Ophiuchus (though controversial), which is what the Artist is significant of. I read Ophiuchus as internal healing, especially that of healing inner child as it's supposed be healing from things that we were maybe taught growing up that aren't true or what we had to do in our past to survive. Same as the interpretation in the booklet but "the human condition" is kinda vague, like what do you mean? I do wish in that sense there was a card for the opposition of Ophiuchus which is Orion and might represent survival and going back to basics in a more primal way. This is pretty much what I use the Well for since it's representative of Gaia or the Earth and therefore represents natural resources and primordial or simple ways of living represented in a more elegant way. My mini-gripe about the two bonus cards in addition to yours is they don't really fit in the Fool's Journey story, and what I mean is they're just kind of lacking a story when, in the constellations and mythology themselves, they have one. I think that's what gives the major arcana so much depth; because there's a story that goes beyond the symbols and abstract ideas of the minor arcana. It's there, you just have to go looking for them.
I couldn’t wait to do the review!! I was excited that someone wanted a review on a deck I had. 🤣 yeah Art Nouveau vibe is very soft on expectations. But this deck is NOT scared to make up for it in other ways! That’s amazing that you’re an astrologer! That is a can of worms I’m afraid to open, but know it works hand in hand with tarot. I know a little but not a lot to save my life! 😁
