As someone that is in recovery for many years now, it’s so crazy that Bert actually thinks he isn’t an alcoholic.

Well looking at most alcoholics he’s not. He’s super successful disciplined when it comes to work and workout.
I am 36 i drink daily 1 beer maybe 2 on the weekends up to 10 don’t consider myself alcoholic. I habe my full time job my side business see my daughter every day, speak 2 languages fluent learning the 3rd one right now.
Btw my doctor said I’m an alcoholic when I was 20 ( I’m European so drinking age is 18), he was asking if I drink alcohol sometimes and I said yes on the weekends, he replied every weekend ? I said yes to the most part. He said than you’re an alcohol. I’m like excuse me. He said anytime something bei comes a routine or habit its an addiction. so by that standard i guess I am. but the thing is everybody is different when it comes to addictions most people cant control it which is problem

bert is stoic when he talks about his friend who died, but he’s sobbing as he talks about a dream he had of that friend in which bert is the main character. there’s a lot to unpack there.

I was at FSU during his time there and it was a crazy place. Jealous teachers use their power to keep you down, that happens everywhere. At some point a person has to take responsibility also. Good for Bert.

It’s odd that so many people think Bert is making up stories. He can be annoying in that his adhd is difficult to tolerate, but the stories he tells are all well documented. If you’re one of those people that think he’s lying, that thing you’re convinced you’re good at in seeing in people, you’re not.

It wouldn’t be a problem if he and Tom didn’t try to convince us they didn’t grow up as rich kids. Tom’s dad was one of the first VPs at Merrill Lynch and Bert’s dad co-owned a law firm. Nothing wrong with either…but any time Tom or Bert spent as “poors” was a LARP.

This shows you can be “busy” but still get nothin’ done. There is always someone at the job who talks about how busy they are but they never produce quality work, so they have to talk about how busy and critical what they do is.
