    Thanks to you i am learning how to progress in the game and am building a new hi-tech-ish (haha) base. One step at a time mind you, but it is work in progress thanks to you. I think im going with the yellorium reactors for power. Need to automate the fuel and waste, which, thanks to you is possible :D

      +spacetrooper john Thanks, glad to hear that! Big reactors is a great power source, a bit too good when looking at how much power output one can get from a turbine.... but a fun system to set up with automatic import/export and all those fun stuff to get an automated and perfected system :)

    I realize this is an old, old video, but I'm hoping to get some help;
    I'm playing FTB Infinity Evolved on a server with some friends of mine, and it seems bulk-crafting fluix crystals is coupled with a strange bug from time to time. Seemingly randomly, the process doesn't take up all the materials, leaving 1-5 pieces of charged c quartz, redstone or nether quartz. It also seems the annihilation plane only picks up items when *all* items it's attempting to pick up have a valid spot in the ME system (or what someone else mentioned, and it's drop-order related), which leads to the system not picking up any fluix crystals, letting them despawn and lose the resources. I'm unsure of a block that can substitute the annihilation plane, and I don't care about picking up the bugged bonus bits since I was spending them anyway.

    BIG NOTE: ensure your annihilation plane is at the bottom NOT the sides as it won't pick up every item (DOH! took me ages to figure this out..)

    Unfortunately not working for me. Formation Plane is Offline, i think this is a bug in FTB. I see that the Seeds are in the Interface, but they cant get to the formation plane.

      In what version, modpack mod selection? I have repeated this build in a later version so I wouldn't suspect anything to have changed. Check for simple things, if it's offline, did you connect power to the subnet for example?

      @@therealtkh yeah my bad :D the device was offline, now i connected Power it is working very well. Only Problem i encounter is that even tho I want the Accelerators to only be powered when the ME Level Emitters are on they are always powered :( Thank you for your Response, im learning AE2 atm and your tutorials are really really good!

    I have ab problem with the second me interface.
    If the second interface is only connected with a cable to the "me formation plane" the items are stored in the interface forever.
    If i connect a cable to the second me interface, the formation plane drop all (filtered) items from the me system...
    Where is the problem ?
    I build the same like in your video.

      It sounds like you have forgot to connect power (through glass fiber) to the second network to recieve the items. I tried to remove my power and the items just stayed in the second interface. Remember that with large Interfaces, power can pass through, but not with the small version.

      +TKH I'm sorry, but with time and a lot of work, i've get success !! It's working perfectly. I've just tried to connect with ME cable or it's quartz fiber to use to connect different coloured cable...

      Yes, of course. You don't even need Smart Cable, the normal Glass variant will do just fine. Just make sure they don't connect to each other by mistake. In these videos I use colored cables just to make things easier to follow :)

    try using a storage bus to export the pure crystal then you need allot less blox the storage bus can export into a chest

    Hey! So another quick question for you. I set this all up how you have it, but when I go to craft the fluix crystals, the redstone gets stuck on the second interface (the small one) and just keeps shooting it out until I take it out of the Config part of the interface (it puts itself there). Any thoughts how to fix this?

      I know this is late lol. But it's not the setup, it is a bug in AE2, and it is a dupe bug, it isnt pulling redstone from your system, it is literally just duplicating any redstone that was requested.

      @@therealtkh Bus! storage bus, sorry :) crystals doesnt have to move pass any storage, just can be sended directly to terminal that was "ordering" them with crystal pattern. I was too lazy to craft this chest to be honest, storage bus replacement working the same way I guess.

      @@tapczan02 Ah, yes! I though of that later (I did a new design later when I had a mod update video). Export bus och storage bus should work fine and completely replace the ME chest I used as "middle stop" :)

      @@therealtkh I couldn't make this work. So what I do to the connection that is coming from the annihilation plane. I connected to a storage bus, which I then connected to the cube interface, but the crystals do not get sucked back into the system, they remain on top of the annihilation plane. Everything else works perfectly.

    Would just like to make clear to any curious folks such as myself who found this super helpful video, the formation plate is above the water by 1 block so that the items are formed properly. I tried the setup with the plate touching the surface of the water, and the seeds would glitch all over the place instead of properly ending up in the water.

      Correct, I probably forgot to say that in this video, but I noticed this issue in an early version of this concept (for rv1). Ever since, I use one block of air between the plane and water block.

    Any Idea why when I craft the fluix crystals my system just keeps throwing Redstone infinitely ? If I try to craft 10 fluix crystals (needing 5 redstone) it will just keep dropping 5 Redstone into the water indefinitely until I take the 5 redstone out of the buffer interface. If I try to craft 128 fluix crystals (needing 64 redstone) it will just keep dropping 64 redstone until I remove the 64 from the interface.... I tried removing the second interface but it refuses to craft when I do that... I could request it, but it will never craft until I cancel the crafting queue in the cpu, then it will craft. And now my annihilation plane wont bring the finished items back to the system, it did before... and I changed nothing... lol

      I have heard of bugs with some version of the mod where items are duped in this way... see other comments below. What modpack or version(s) are you playing with? I have tried this in 1.12 and it still works fine there, so there should be no problem with the build if you've done it right :)

      Im using FTB Beyond. I am not sure if it is duping the redstone, (i have 42k redstone in my ME system so I cant really see if it is going up or down xd) I made it literally exactly the same as yours. It's probably a bug.. probably going to swap and use Refined Storage Instead.... Thanks for the tutorial though!

      Hmm, it would be interesting to hear if it works if you build it in a creative world like the one in this video. Then you'll have full control of resources and can double check everything is correct. But I don't know what would be causing the redstone to continously flow...

      Yea idk. For some reason when I call to create the fluix crystals for instance 10 so 5 redstone is needed. The 5 redstone gets placed into the secondary Interface (the one after the block interface, that connects to the blue cable), and since there are 5 in that interface the ME system sees that as it is constantly requesting 5 redstone, so it just sends it... It puts whatever amount of redstone the fluix crystal crafting requires into the Interface instead of pushing it out of the Formation plane (or w.e it is called).. as for the Annihilation plane, I do not know why it randomly stopped working when I changed it.... I think I am just going to swap to Refined Storage, it's easier to use, doesn't require channels, doesnt require so many cables, storage drives can hold any amount of different items as long as it has space on it, and the only flaw I see between the 2 is the fact that RS can't craft 2 recipes at once (or so I think, haven't tried).. But even Autocrafting is easier.

      Easier is not always more fun ;) I have used both and like the full control I get with AE2. The other day my RS system freaked out and continously produced iron plates, and there is no clear way to see status or where the order comes from. Also had some issues with patterns not accepting oreDictionary in a good way but it might of course be due to other reasons as well.
      Anyway, regarding your problem. I have built this setup several times, and never experienced this. However, you might want to double check that the arrow of the first interface is pointing at the second one. Hit it with a wrench to direct it. Feel free to send some screenshots of the setup as well. In an Imgur album is good since it's good to have several pictures with an explaining text for each one.

      "At last"? This video is almost four years old ;) but yes, the idea with this video (and a bunch of others in this series) was to make a build with only AE2 so it would work in any modpack.

      My annihilator simply sucks it up immediately causing an infinite loop.... how are you able to configure a way around that? Seeing as the annihilator has no GUI or card slots

      Disregard that. I realize now that the me chest is a mandatory part of the setup. I was skipping all the subnet things thinking they were all for power efficiency but now see that that part must be followed

      Good thing you got it worked out. You can exchange the subnet part to use a filtered export bus instead, it's a slightly better setup.

    Nice tutorial but I've done all you described but the Fluix Seeds stay or hang in the second ME Interface. I'm play with version 1.6.5 (Direwolf20). Is the height of the blue cable that important? I only have 1 block space between water and the ME Formation Plane.

      @@Johnnii360 Sorry for late reply but thanks for getting back with your solution. It sounds like you filtered the Formation Plane with a seed that wasn't exactly like the one now sent from the system. I mean if you place a seed in the filter that has grown a few percent it will not match what is auto-crafted later. Such error would be solved by Fuzzy Card. And it's easy to make this mistake, I have done it myself ;)

      Sorry, I don't understand what you're after... Seeds and dust are crafted by patterns (in molecular chamber) and crystals are grown externally in a build with water and plane blocks to drop/pick up.

    Hi TKH! I've watched your AE2 tutorial videos step by step and they were very helpful. I just have one question. I found that when an ME Level Emitter was inserted by a Crafting Card, there were two Crafting Modes. I already know that the first one allows the emitter to emit redstone while item is crafting, but what does the second one exactly do? Thank you in advance.

      Thanks, glad to hear that! The second mode means that the crafting takes place externally. Normally, you create a pattern and place it in an Interface and have an assembler next to it, right? Then you get the "crafting item" avaliable in the system. And as you say, if you have a crafting card in the Emitter it will emit a redstone signal while the item is being crafted (in the assembler). The other mode is used when you DON'T have pattern in an Interface. It simply means that you have other blocks/machines that does the crafting with own materials. As soon as you place the crafting card in the emitter and change it into this mode you will get the "crafting item" in your terminal, with no patterns. When you order the item you will also get a redstone signal and it will stay on until the required item ends up in the system. Easy to test, hard to explain, but I hope you understand :)

    for turning seeds into pure crystals, isn't simpler to use a growing chamber? that way you don't need power management with level emitters. i set it up. it worked perfectly. your solution however will solve an issue i have creating pure fluix. the design i am currently using uses item dropper which is extremely slow.

      +Anas Sibaii Absolutely, but this method is based on using pure AE2. The growing chamber comes from the addon "AE2 Stuff" if I remember correctly. With other mods there are lots of ways to do this, but this series is focused on only AE2 and no addons to it :)

      +Nik Kot Sometimes I do, for example, I did an infinite one tree sized farm to power a steam boiler using several mods. If you have specific blocks that you need help with, always feel free to send a message and if it feels like a good topic I might do a video about it. If you feel that there are no good guides on the laser drill perhaps I should try and make one :)

    I am having a problem where it seems that the formation plane does not drop the seeds until I cancel the job manually. When I look at the crafting status after starting the job, the seed says that there are 2 stored, but the pure crystal just stays at Scheduled 1.
    Any idea what could be causing this?

      +Mark Cowan I think that I recognize that..... Trying to remember what the reason could be... If I remeber correctly I had an issue with an incorrect pattern. It looked correct, but for some reason I had used shift-click to make the pattern quickly - and that messed it up in some way. It's a longshot, but worth a try? I have no good ideas otherwise... :/

    I am having issues.. i can get the pure to all do their thing but when i look in my ME system for Pure Nether Quartz Crystal it shows me none, I have no clue where they are going at this point and it is about to make me lose my mind. I also cheated in some pure and as soon as i drop it into my ME system it disappears.. playing divine journey

      That sounds weird... have you set up some export bus somewhere? Try to break the system down to a minimum (only) storage and see if you have the problem there as well, then attach different parts at a time.

    I have been trying to automate the crushing process. using the pulverizer and the same costume craft imprint method from here.
    so initiate the crafting process. it sends the quartz to the pulverizer. and then takes the dust out. however I can't pull the dust out of the me system after. it says it's there. I just can't move it.

      Sorry for late answer, been a busy week... Do you still have a problem with this? Iit sounds like you just need to export the dust with an export bus. Or just send it from the Pulverizer directly (why go back into the network if it's not supposed to be there?).

    Ok, I tried this today, I only need the seed creation part (the other bit works), I've done exactly as you have, and my Molecular Assembler, just don't work..
    I have the seed patterns in the correct place, and it's just does nothing..

      +True DeviL That sounds strange, the seed crafting should be the easiest step and have always worked. It's just a normal crafting recipe, not a processing pattern. Create an album on imgur, describe your mod list/pack, versions etc, and show a few screens of how it looks when creating patterns, placing them and so on. Or record a video! :)

    Bit late to the party, but been playing DW20 1.12.2 and using this design for a little while now - works great, huge thanks!
    However, one issue I've discovered with the annihilation plane is that it sucks up things in drop order, and blocks subsequent auto-crafting until prior seeds have fully grown. This is especially noticeable if you order a pure crystal of any kind and then a fluix crystal (which is supposed to be instant). The seeds block the plane until they're fully grown, and the fully formed Fluix has to wait its turn in the pool. Obviously, this isn't ideal. :)
    Tried replacing the ME chest with interface+storage bus combo and sadly no difference. The only solution I can think of - unless you don't mind the long wait - is to have a separate chute for Fluix crystals and one for seeds.

      Interesting, I don't think I've seen this despite many, many tests in various packs (mostly small tutorial packs). I would like to say that I have thrown seeds first and then make fluix crystals and had them picked up directly as expected (without waiting for seeds to finish). Is the behavior the same when ordering only one seed or only when ordering many? I was thinking if there are too many items next to the Plane, or if it's the same regardless.
      I need to test this in my different packs when I have time, feel free to do the same in some other pack. As you have, I have also updated my design to only use a "filtered" storage bus connected to an Interface, it's a better way to do it :) I was about to suggest it but I wouldn't have expected any other behavior.
      Thanks for sharing your experiences with the build! I know it still works in 1.16 packs but with the difference that seeds sink and finished products float. I made a video on this not long ago ;)

      @@therealtkh Indeed I have seen the 1.16 floating upwards design - would love to try it but sadly our MP server is stuck on 1.12.2 atm. Didn't realise only finished products float, I guess that would solve my problem. :)
      I couldn't find a working, visual, example of replacing the ME Chest so did a bit of trial and error with a flat interface against a storage bus (both filtered) and got it to work the same as the chest (though I didn't isolate the bus+annihilation plane with fibre for power only; for some reason, it wouldn't work any other way). Again, the plane would get blocked by seeds and wouldn't let Fluix through until they'd fully grown.
      I don't think anything is wrong with my setup, even tried reordering the recipes in the interfaces. The way I tested it was just to throw in some new seed, then fully formed Fluix crystal - neither would get sucked up (well, until the seed had fully grown, but the growth accelerators were off during this manual test). Picked them both up, threw in some Fluix, it instantly gets sucked in. In fact, a seed thrown first will also block a fully formed pure crystal of the same or different type, although this isn't so much of a problem since pures take time anyway. It's like there's an invisible buffer and the first item to get scanned is picked to go through next. (Although now I wonder if the seed transitioning from 0% to the 33% version changes the buffer.)
      Anyway, I'll try to test this with a later version and diff. modpack in SP soon. :) Am thinking of designing a version with an emergency 'flush' button, as all this testing is blocking my chute and leaving me with a lot of unstackable seeds haha

    when the interface is send items all go through to the formation plane but the red stone stays in the interface and get duplicated infinitely by the formation plane. is there something im doing wrong or is something glitched?

    Nearly followed your tutorial to a T, accidentally made an infinite shower of Redstone. Not that I'm complaining, but, something doesn't seem right. Other than that, automated crystal growth is incredibly useful, thank you

      Interesting, I've heard about this before (like 2-3 times) that this setup dupes Redstone, but I haven't been able to do it myself. You can probably find a few comments down below. What modpack/mod selection are you using? Versions and such.

      I'm using FTB Revelations 2.4.1 on minecraft 1.1.12, (the current version as of 9/5/18). Seems like quite a few users have run into this bug, looking at the comments section.       I can confirm this happening in FTB Revelation 2.6.0. Annoying! I did a video on rv5-alpha-6 with this build and it worked just fine. In 2.6.0 they use rv6-stable-3 which is a later version. Probably need to do some testing here to see if there's a workaround and if it's possible to find the root cause.

      @@survivingtheapocalypse123 Yesterday I decided to investigate this to the fullest and found the workaround required (by config) to solve the problem. This morning I read that the latest FTB Revelation (2.7.0) is out. Checking the patch notes I can see that they have changed exactly what I tested. So this issue should be resolved if you update to the latest version! I'll test when I get home from work but I recommend that you update the pack and then check.

    for some reason, the moment I hook up this system to my computer it just kills it, I can't take items out or put items into the terminals anymore after a few seconds of having this hooked up. The terminals still have power, i can still SEE my items, but I can't do anything with them.
    I followed the tutorial exactly.

      I have heard about several bugs with some new releases. Might be because of that, but I built this in 1.12 in a custom pack and it worked perfectly for me. Make sure terminals are pointed in correct direction or things might not work... But I don't have any screenshots to look at and no version information so it's a bit hard to guess.

      i found out it was because for some reason not enough power was getting into the system, even with a ultimate universal cable for input. eventually i wound up just cheating and connecting a creative energy supply direct to the computer because it wasn't working despite having a big reactor and ultimate cables supplying power.

    I have an issue with this design. My flat interface always ends up with redstone in the top slot so it just keeps dumping redstone into the growth chamber.

      See other comments below, people have reported bugs about something like this... hope you can find the problem or a way around it. I have no problems in the latest 1.12 version (the one I tried a month ago).

      TKH I made a work around by sending the ingredients to a chest and creating a sorted export from that chest. Will continue to find a solution to this as well because it is an amazing, asthetic, compact(ish) design!

    For some reason the ME level emitter will not turn off when it is done crafting. And when it emits the redstone it will not send the power to the growth accelerator. I don't know what I did wrong?

    For me the annihilation plane is just picking the seeds up, how did you make the annihilation plane blacklist the seeds?

      +CrushDustHD Norsk Commentary The subnet picking up the pure crystals must be formatted. This can be done in two ways. Either you do like I did in this video (format a storage cell for temporary storage) or you format a storage bus connected to an interface in the main network. And make sure you have the correct version of the mod (rv2 or later) or it won't work.

    Great tutorial, I just have one question. The seeds work perfectly, but i cannot get the fluix crystals to work. I have the pattern set up correctly, but when I request the crystals in my me, it just does nothing, the formation plane doesnt spit out anything. Any ideas?

      I had a weird issue where nothing happened but everything seemed to be right. The thing for me was that I by accident had used seeds that had been in contact with water when I made the pattern, so it was locked to a seed with a fraction of growth. It was really hard to find but very logical ;) Hard to say, because you're doing most of it right if the other ones are working. Is it the normal fluix crystal or the pure version?

    does this still work with 1.10? ive copied the design exactly but when i order fluix crystals it dumps a load of red stone and then some how duplicates the redstone

      Weird, the previous comment I got was also about a dupe bug. I haven't checked the github issue reports, but this feels like a bug and should be reported and fixed. I haven't tried in 1.10 myself yet though.

      it is a bug in the current release and there apparently isnt a fix for it yet but if you replace the formation plane with a vanilla dropper it works fine

      You can also replace the formation plane with a storage bus and below an Automatic precision dropper from "actually additions" works fine

      There are a few different blocks that can be used from other mods, but this specific build was made to only use vanilla and pure AE2 items. So for that reason I would go for the vanilla dropper if there's a bug with the formation plane ;) Anyway, I tried this build yesterday in 1.12.2 and it worked just fine there.

      I am on 1.12.2 and the build works fine except that redstone getting stuck in second interface and just keeps dropping it until I pull it out. With the storage bus and precision hopper it works fine but that hopper drops super slow =(

    Great guide! You speak clearly and aren't in a rush and go through why you do things. I seem to have a problem though. For some reason my formation plane is more likely to spit things out on top of itself than just dropping them down. Any ideas as to why this is?       Hmm, I only had that kind of problem when inserting directly into water. A block of air between water and plan was the best for me if I recall correctly...

    Will this work with your effective controller design without the buffer or will everything just phase through the bottom back into the network. I have tried many different variable hoping for a simple point A->B without having to make a separate network entirely just to make it. If I can't would I still be fine just having the formation plane drop the things I need into it and just picking it up manually?

      Well, there are always workarounds, but the key is to have a filter, or the items will just be sent back into the network. The annihilation plane can't be filtered, but it can only suck up items if it can store them somewhere. A sub network of some type with an export bus, a formatted cell or a filtered chest is pretty much required. Picking up things manually is not good as the auto-crafting job would never be "finished". If you follow what I mean? :)

      The Ender Chest was a flop, but I somehow still got the auto crafting to work through the main network without having to set up a sub network. It works perfectly now and I didn't have to partition a ME chest. I wish I could send you a screen shot of my setup, but it's pretty much the same without the chests having to be involved.

      How did you filter the annihilation plane so it doesn't pick up the wrong stuff? With pure AE2 the only thing I can think of is either formatting a storage cell or having an export bus with filtered items. Would be interesting to hear of new methods!

      When I was dinking around with it I remember at first it would just throw redstone all over the place, but the method I believe is the same as yours with minor differences I only needed the buffer chest to stop the redstone from going everywhere. So, I did need the one chest either way I just forgot about it, but I didn't need the initial chest all that comes from the network itself. Also, didn't use the level emitters. I craft them one at a time as is unless the recipe calls for them.
      To summarize, materials come from the main network and finished product gets exported to the interface.

    I really dislike the direction algorithmx2 took with ae2...
    Making the machines slow and introducing contrived crafting recipes is absolutely the wrong way to make your mod more rewarding.
    From a game design point of view, network channels are just about the only well thought out addition to ae2. The rest of it only serves to raise the bar to entry, and frustrate players with short attention spans.
    When I play a modpack, I usually just opt for the path of least resistance when trying to craft an item. In the case of ae2, this almost always means bypassing ae entirely in favour of some other mod like magical crops.
    This is not a good sign :/
    I do hope algorithmx2 comes to his senses before people start abandoning ae entirely, it would be a shame to see it go :(

      Depends on what functions you need. Using two interfaces (one for every direction) can be enough, but auto-crafting doesn't work - it has to be all in the same network.

      +Sleepydog30 I had the same idea as you did, so I removed the chest and hoped that the export bus could handle the temporary storage (or not store at all) for me, but I couldn't get it working. Perhaps possible to use an Interface instead somehow (since they can hold items), but I haven't really explored this. I encourage you to do that :) Glad you liked it though!

      +ChaoGirDja Have you tried it? I guess it could work since the orange network needs somewhere to put the items it picks up. And if the import bus can act as a storage area (thanks to the Storage bus) it would be a better solution than using a buffer network. Not a huge difference, but a bit slimmer :)
      Yeah, I missed that functionality from the very beginning, so I was excited to hear about this change that I totally missed when rv2 was released!

    I ended up changing the setup to not use the formation and annihilation planes as they are still bugged in FTB Direwolf 20 1.12.2.
    My final setup was interface -> chest -> item conduit -> hopper -> open crate from botania. The collection is done via a vaccum chest with an item filter for the expected items which then feeds said items back into the interface via another item conduit run.

      What's bugged about them in DW20 1.12.2? I built this setup in creative with that modpack and it seems like it's working perfectly. I'm hesitant to build it in my survival world if it's going to mess up.

      The formation plane will create infinite copies of the contents in the connected interface/storage and continuously drop them into the water block on the latest version of the DW 1.12.2 pack.

      I'm not really sure. When I built it, it didn't start spitting out copies initially. But after a little while I was running around my base and saw the formation plane just dumping redstone and seeds into the water.
      Im playing on a home server run by AMP. The bug was addressed about four months ago in AE2, so updating the package would fix it.
