it's not because of vw oder skoda, but because it is a 3-cylinder engine. Ford Focus 1.0 and 1.5 EcoBoost sound about the same... And yes, it sounds better than the 1.5L inline 4 from vw.
@@mbvalency Not in person imo. Four cylinders always sound a bit buzzy on camera, but when accelerating the three cylinder thrum is far more present than the four cylinder sound. Although being only 1.0l once you come off the throttle a bit, they do become far more civilised to the point of being almost silent.
@@tzeimet Yes, you are right about the acoustics. I personally did not like the sound of the 1.5 VW engine, it sounded a bit thin, on higher revs like a vacuum cleaner. Performance wise it's a great engine. And nothing against 4-cylinders, they are generally ok. I drive the 1.5 Ford Focus for 4 years now, still fits my needs.
In my opinion, the engine's performance in higher RPM is enough, however, I have a huge problem with the lazy start at 0:16 -> notice that after he steps on the gas nothing happens for 2 seconds... I sometimes need that quick reaction when on a crossing or somewhere..
I don't think he gave full throttle from the start, he allowed it to roll out before, those 2 second are just the car creeping forward before he pressed the accelerator fully. I have the same DSG in my car, it doesn't have a problem accelerating off the line although it's not the smoothest transmission.
Why is the DSG so slow on this car? takes about 1/2 a second to change gears even in S mode. Much different to the Polo 1.0 (95hp) or even my Skoda Octavia 1.6 tdi (DQ200 DSG).
idk why but i really love the vw and skoda petrol engine noise

I prefer three cylinder turbo sound to most four cylinders which can sound boomy when revved which can make it tiresome
Same i love it so much

damn! this thing pulls like a pdtdi passat 20yrs ago.. 😎👍
The digital tachometer makes the gearbox seem slow
Can you make a video where you have it on 4000rpm on Neutral and then put it in 1st gear?!
Do you have the 1.5 TSI?

Latest emissions controls
@@robertmarsh3588arent ther any emission control on 1.5 and 2.0 tsi motors? This is not about emission control.
even in seventh gear, the acceleration is decent ..
10sec for 0-100 not 9.5...ridiculous bad time for 110hp! my car 100hp at lpg 10.5 sec for 0\100!
Wow that half second makes such a big difference to your life. Wow.
