Leaders do not need to be rich, political, or religious. They just need language, caring and wisdom.
Correct.
"a vote is a kind of prayer," I really like that, even as a diehard atheist, you're alright Reverend Warnock, keep up the good work
Yes, it's like a prayer in that it is an expression of what one wants and ideally it's what one wants for all our citizens (e.g., healthcare) instead of for oneself only.
It is a beautiful sentiment.
@cmkv28bc For me, it's more of an opportunity to put voice to what I would like to see happen combined with a hope that the majority of others have the same aims for the future of us all. That hope has been up and down and trying to keep hope in my fellow citizens is getting harder to come by.
Good that's nice
@rhondah1587 I didn't mean to interpret him literally, I just thought it was beautiful language! My whole point was sometimes religious and secular people can come together with sentiment we can all get behind in different ways. I think we should fund education with a tax on religious institutions, personally. Every altruist is on the same side regardless of our beliefs. "Come together, right now." -John Lennon
Books and tthe library were where I found my life. My Mother was a single Mom. These things were my lifeline.
Same here. Public libraries provided me with a safe place to do my homework and read after school while I waited for my mom to get off work. They're vital for communities
@unfocuseded Yay socialism!
Thank you both for your hard work for our democracy! ❤
Pur country is so very blessed by these two amazing Americans. Thank you both for your tireless work on our behalf.🙏💙🇺🇲
My family in Georgia loves Senator Warnock, and so do I!
I love him so much ahn he way away from me in carribean He is a HIGH moral compass.
Senator Warnock...one of the shiniest stars in our huge tent of shining stars!
Love this man! What a great person to be Senator.
Agreed but he still takes a lot of money from AIPAC. Dems should do better.
Wow are you serious….Please don’t let them deceive you…
@kennyporterfield9630 Poor, poor, Kenny....please free yourself from the Fox News right-wing fascist propaganda echo chamber you are trapped in.
@toeringcowboy2188 Have a beautiful and Blessed day.
This is what true leadership looks like.
He exudes kindness, love and hope. Thank you for the interview and sharing this lovely man with your audience.
Reverend Senator Warnock is right. We need leaders who inspire us to betterment of ourselves and our country. But we also need ENACTABLE laws that no branch can usurp. I would love to hear good and brilliant leaders like Warnock speak to this.
@Tjcp292. Check out Heather Cox Richardson’s idea.
•Robert Reich is fabulous.
We need to get rid of the court case right before “Citizens United.” I believe it’s called “Buckley vs. Viejo” and this gets money totally out of our elections.
•Expand Our House of Representatives so it represents our true population.
•Term limits for Supreme Court Justices
•Tax Billionaires
That’s a start!
Loving our neighbors as ourselves is an act of empathy.
Yes, it is. There is something terribly wrong with people who lack empathy. They are the sociopaths and psychopaths and narcissists.
I love that "A vote is a kind of prayer" 🙏🏻
‘We are more alike, my friends, than unalike’ Maya Angelou
I love and respect this man. Thanks for this interview Heather.
I love Senator Warnock! GA is fortunate to have his representation.
I want to thank you Senator for being a beautiful human being….working hard for the common person who work hard for our living. Thank you!
Senator Warnock is the senator i respect the most, even though i have two good Democratic senators of my own. His empathy, his beliefs about social justice, align with my own beliefs. I hope he stays in office for several terms.
He'd make a wonderful uncorruptable POTUS.
I am so glad to hear Sen. Warlock speaking today. I appreciate the opportunity to hear his perspective and especially his spiritual foundation that he holds up clearly but not trying to impose his beliefs on others. Respect!
Julius Richmond MD was a part of the creation of Head Start. He also was head of Health and Human Services. His name and work also need to be remembered and brought up. I think he would be so pleased to hear this from Senator Warnock. This his narrative is what I think he spent his efforts on imperfect as any human.
I love "the entire country is gerrymandered" It feels like truth!
When I was a child, there were only two identified gerrymandered districts. One was back in NE US and one was Oklahoma, my area.
The gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials.... it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile. Robert Kennedy.
Too bad the apple fell so far from the tree.
I’m Canadian but I really like his message
@Chanel31113 Thanks for KNOWING the people and the regime are 2 totally different things!!
We love Canada 🇨🇦
Senator Warnock is so right. On top of the damage this regime is doing the mental duress we’re under every moment is devastating.
We had World Book Encyclopedias loved them. So much information ❤
From Occupied St. Paul, MN.
FYI Several hundred ICE thugs remain through the entire state of Minnesota, not just Minneapolis. The suburbs and rural areas are hard hit, but the critical mass of neighbors are not around to blow whistles 😢😮
Focusing only on the city of Minneapolis is not correct- please say Minnesota more so folks don’t just say it city folks… it’s all of us.
They've got to be staying somewhere, and they can't remain anonymous forever.
I'm sorry your whistleblowers don't seem to be there , your state has been in my prayers since "it" all started😢
@LuLuRose-n3x Thanks for doing what’s right!✊🏼
I’m bedridden and disabled but, I’m with you in spirit.
Sending strength, love, healing, good luck and good energy from Florida ⚡️🌹⚡️❤️
P.S. Thank you for giving us all hope!
Kentuckian who lived in Georgia....love Senator Warnock!🎉
Thank you so much, I needed to hear this today.
Thank you Senator Warnock from Augusta, Georgia..
A long-running low-grade fever…
What a fitting description 😌
Thank you Heather and Sen Warnock for this discussion. Viewing voting like a prayer, send energy into the Universe is such a healthy way of looking at our privilege. As a fellow Georgian, I was so proud to see Sen Warnock show up in MN after Alex Pretty was shot. The mainstream media gave that incident very little coverage. Having a US Senator show up gave the injustices happening in MNPL more weight. TY! 🙏
Thank you both for upholding democracy, decency and integrity.
Hi Dr Heather glad to be here as you talk to one of my favorite Senators❤
Thank you Heather and senator Warnock.
This is such a powerful conversation. Thank you, both!!
Thank you Heather! Such an eloquent and graceful guest, Senator Warnock. 💙
I used to sit and read and read my grandmother’s 1963 World Book Encyclopedias, and the dictionaries. I can still picture and smell my favorite pages. I was the 2nd college graduate in my family. ❤
Sen. Warnock from Georgias runoff election💗
Upward Bound is a great CCR College & Career Readiness Program.
My son, now in his early 40s, benefitted from Upward Bound and its exposing him and his fellow students to the great CalPoly State Universities while still in high school. A wonderful program!
My parents bought World Book and Child Craft, too! What a privilege it was to have those resources in our home. ❤
We had World Book and the Book of Knowledge, a children's encyclopedia that was (in retrospect) remarkably sophisticated.
Encyclopedias were the pre-internet internet.
@cmkv28bc world book was my introduction to Adolf you know who. I was looking up horses. Even though the target audience is school-aged children, it didn’t pull any punches on that topic. Horrifying!
My grandmother supported her family by selling World Books door-to-door. Needless to say, we had a set. I loved reading them as a kid--
No funding for programs for women and children. No investment in our future generation. So here we are
No concern for human capital. 😥
@laurietmiller6279 PLEASE FIGHT!!
I’m bedridden and need help!
Do whatever you can, please!
As a Canadian and a devout Christian I am encouraged by your guest today. Thank you Senator and Reverand Warnock. The current corrupt administration in the Whitehouse is frightening to us too.
I wonder what your being a devout Christian has to do with your concerns about the horrendous White House administration? America, despite the Christian right and white supremist in America claim, is a secular constitutional republic - religion is not supposed to be a factor in how our government works. Sadly that is not the case - but I hope we will soon return to our secular roots.
@CatCaretakerIDWe need people of all stripes to overcome the fascism upon us. Senator Warnock is a Christian, as is the commenter from Canada. Whatever your beliefs, people of decency all need to unite now.
@CatCaretakerID Goddess! Wouldn’t that be nice!!
Unfortunately, it is people who consider themselves "devout Christians" who voted this evil regime into office...
@kathleenvangorder5941And Trump and his minions insist their regime is the “most transparent in history”. Consider judging people not by their words, but by their deeds.
LOVE Senator Reverend Warnock. Excited to see him on! We’re lucky to have him in the Senate.
Caught this later in the day, Sen. Warnock is awesome! What an excellent speaker!
Oh, yeah. This man can truly speak
Thank you both for taking the time to speak to us. Much Respect Senator Warnock.
Oh my goodness. If you see this comment: Hello from Japan, Mr. Warnock. Thank you HCR for this interview. I've already liked it and I'm just at the introductions.
2 bright shining stars. Great show!
Senator Warnock''s seat is secure until 2028, thank goodness for that
He is unbeatable for as long as he wants the seat, I think.
Mr. Warnock is a wonder man. This is what a man should be. A wonderful kind speaker as well. I would like to see more speaking from him. It’s important.
Thank you both so much from Granby, CT.
We are so fortunate to have Senator Warnock in Congress! Thank you, Senator, for your guidance and your example.
Minnesota is still occupied 💔
Donating what little I can to a church food pantry in Minnesota. I wish I could do more. From bloody red Missouri 💔💙💔
💔
Both sets of books so enriched my home too. Praying for our children today
Senator Warnock is so inspirational and his words are a comforting support to the Soul of America. Thank you Heather for having this conversation with him.
Very helpful discussion. Our problem is deeper than politics. We have a moral crisis....do human persons have intrinsic value? Do human persons have rights or dignity? Trump and Putin and the masked men of ICE believe the answer is no.
What an inspiring leader! 🌟🙌
Thank you for sharing your voices 🥰
You’re both a breath of fresh air so needed now.
Listened from Georgia, later in the day. Thanks again.
Senator Warnock, it was lovely, heartening and uplifting to hear you speak today. I often think about how different my life would be if I were raised now rather than 30-40 years ago and how terrible it is that the “American Dream” has been moved so far out of reach. I cannot express how grateful I am to hear these thoughts in your voice.
That’s right, they won!! Thank you to all of Minnesota
Thank you HCR and Senator Warnock
Thank you for this wonderful interview with Senator Warnock and for all the other interviews you have been doing.
Praise the Lord, welcome all, especially Sen. Rev Ralph Warnock D-GA Justice Like Democracy Matters 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Oh!! Two of my favorite humans!! 💎 💎
Well done HCR Senator Warnock is very inspiring. Thank you for this excellent interview. Senator Warnock we need more senators like you in our Congress Thank you for standing up for what is right. I feel encouraged hearing you . ❤🙏🏼🇺🇸
Another great interview Heather, I do enjoy these interviews. Thank you for your service, Mr. Warnock, God bless you.
Illuminating as alwys yet so hard to keep our heads up.... thank you HRC and Sen Warnock.
Amen and Alleluia. Thank you.
Arnold, East Midlands, UK.
Thank you kindly...
Hi Heather! Blessed to see you Pastor🙏🏽💜💫Praying for Peace in the World
Thank you from Fort Worth ❤️
Thank you for this coversation. I appreciate being introfuced to Sen. Rev Warnock
Love to Senator Warnock from Virginia.💙
THUMBS
Thank you Senator Warnock.
South New Jersey here. Love & appreciate you both!💙☮️🍀
We also need to be aware of the Banning Book organizations that are infiltrating our public school libraries.
Crucial that Congress steps up and does its job!!!!!
Heather, very useful to hear the spiritual dimensions (the real version) of the pickle we're in.
Yeah! That joy lasted one day. Still, so grateful to you.
Georgia here!
Rev. Dr., Sen. Warnock: No Notes!! Keep the Faith
I love Rapael Warnock, a great American. Thankyou, HCR ❤
Thank you both
Thank you, Senator.
Thank you both for this conversation ❤
God deliver us from EVIL!!!
The war will end when the monetary and personal gains of the tangerine nightmares circle are realized.
This is a very inspiring, uplifting interview. There is hope. Let us not forget. 🙏🏻
So great to see
We the people.
Hello from Hampton Roads, Virginia
Watching the recording from Rochester NY
Thank you so much for this interview. My new perspective is there are so many forces trying to divide and all we can do to glue people together is essential. My local library has programs that bring people together and a nonprofit supplies us with free books for kids.
As a former theology professor who understands "evil" as a privation if the good, it is a very fitting term for what the heart of American Christianity, atomistically centered on human interest (above and against the rest of creation) in service of personal gain (cultural and economic might figured as salvation) is inflicting on our nation and the world. A majority of American Christian voters chose this by electing this regime. May the fringe of American Christianity, represented by people like Thurman, MLK, Lewis, and Warnock grow like a mustard seed. May the rest of us make justice, dignity, and the integrity of all "creation" central to our ultimate concern or "faith."
Hello from Bellingham WA
Senator Warnock is an icon of our democracy. Kudos! Thank you for showcasing him. 👍🏻
Hope, Arkansas Shout Out!
I know as Americans, our memories are often short or simply void of substance, but does anyone remember how frighteningly close his 2022 victory was over Hershel Walker?
There is no true comparison in the character & senatorial aptitude between the two men. However, why could it even have been such a close thing to the voters of Georgia?
I cast no stones, because my own southern state is confusingly red-purple.
I am very grateful that Rev. Warnock was elected to do the good work he is so clearly born to do.
I would also like to compliment the high quality of interviews Professor Richardson has been presenting lately.
Thank you.
Inspiring, thank you
Thank you❤
